Hostal Buena Vista

Positive: The hostel is situated uphill, but there are taxis at the bus stop if people do not want to walk. It is very close to coffee shops, bars and grocery stores. The old town is about 5-10 minutes walk. The house and rooms are extremely clean and are being cleaned every day. The internet connection works quite well. The view from the window of the room I stayed in (n.8) is breathtaking. The room I stayed was very spacious and there was even a bath tube. I could also leave my luggage for a while the day of the check out.. Negative: The check in is only between 12pm and 6pm. This means that late arrivals need to be checked and agreed way in advance. There is no kitchen facilities. Despite a sign saying that people could reuse the towels to save water and the environment, and that they would get replaced only if people leave them on the floor, mine were replaced, even though I paid extra care not to leave them on the floor, as I deeply care about the environment. I suppose they were just being extra attentive and customer focused, considering that it was low season..

Stayed in room 1 which had a double bed, shower/small bath, air conditioning and tv. Pleasantly surprised to find small private parking area (5 bays) next to hostel. Great views of the town and surrounding area. Note that you need to pay on arrival (cash). The place is kept clean. Fresh towels every day. Owners very pleasant and helpful.

Positive: Great location and clean room. Negative: The curtains and bed covers were removed apparently due to Covid which didn't make any sense considering how hot and windy Vejer is. They could have been washed between guests. Not having curtains leave us with no privacy whatsoever. Its definitely NOT a place for families, they dont have a single travel cot. We had to place the mattress on the floor for our baby to sleep "safely". No shampoo in the toilet just a couple of shower gel satches for 4 people ( I rang before arrival to check if we would need to buy toiletries).

Positive: The room and bathroom are ok. Car park on-site. Negative: Unfriendly owners who don’t make any efforts to communicate. I’m fluent in Spanish and I’m usually able to discuss with anyone except the people of this hotel! The AC stopped to work by itself at midnight and restarted by itself at 9.45...we had a very uncomfortable night The owners entered our room while we were at breakfast, we didn’t appreciate that For all this reasons, I don’t find it good value for money.

Positive: Cosy family run hostal. Very clean room. Beautiful view on the old village. Very central location, only 5-6 minutes walking to the old town and the busstation.. Negative: Noisy hallways and hard mattress but this is the case in almost every Andalusian hostal I’ve stayed at..

Positive: Good location, free parking available, great view from our room.. Negative: No facilities to enjoy breakfast (glasses, etc.), no soap..

Great service and location. 2 problems though, we requested both singular bed and got twins, but worst we requested parking and it was full and we had to look for and it is horrible in that zone.
