Positives first. The room. Was clean, warm, plenty of decent towels, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom had everything you need. For the price absolute bargain. The negatives, the room was quite small,. Unfortunately because of the hard flooring, dispit trying to be quiet you could hear other guests going to their rooms. On the other hand dispit being really central there was very little noise for outside, even though it was new year's eve ( perhaps the worst night of the year to get a early night 😂😂). Getting to the hotel by car is a bit of a chore. I felt that to get near I had to drive through a pedestrian zone, unfortunately I can't speak Spanish so I wasn't sure what the signs said. Google takes you so far then you have turn down a side street to get to the hotel. The parking garage is scary to say the least. If you don't have a small car, aren't very competent, I'd give the hotel parking a miss. It's is super tight down there It seems every wall and pillar has had a rub at some point. Overall I'd definitely recommend Hostal Concejo. Great location at a very sensible price.

This is one of those fabulous places to stay that you return to time and again. It's my second Via de la Plata Camino and, as a pilgrim, I have chosen to stay here at the Hostal Concejo twice now. The location is excellent - it's bang centre in the city, and yet feels calm and far from the madding crowd of students and tourists. There are so many options to drink and eat, all within a very short walking distance: local cuisine and international chains. The staff are pilgrim-friendly and they were so nice to let me check in a little earlier. Some pilgrims choose to skip Salamanca. This is a massive error of judgement on their part. The city reminds me a lot of Oxford - Salamanca is unlike any other Spanish city - and the students push down the prices so that this is a very affordable city. Euro for Euro, this is the best value-for-money place I have stayed in on the VdlP. I originally booked four nights; ended up staying for five :) My tip is to ask for Room 102.

I had a great experience at Hostel Concejo. It is located very close to the Plaza Mayor (literally less than a minute from it) and it is a safe & convenient place. Lots of stores, cafes, and restaurants. The room is comfortable, clean and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The bathroom is full with a bathtub, shelves and a hair drier. The personnal is very kind and nice.

The hotel is incredibly conveniently located. This is very good, but it also results in a lot of noise throughout the night, especially on Fridays and Saturdays. The cleanliness was more than satisfactory and the service from the reception very good. The only thing missing from the rooms is a small fridge and a few more hangers. Suggested.

I was given a very spacious room with a view over the plaza de la Libertad, it had three beds and I was alone! The room was very nicely decorated and was also extremely clean. The bathroom was spacious, had a nice tub, and had wonderful thick towels and nice toiletries. The staff were helpful and friendly, the front desk was staffed 24 hours. This hostal had some nice extras you don't usually find in these budget properties, most notably room service where you could order a cup of tea, coffee, beer, wine, or waterfor only one euro. I also, had my laundry done for 8 euros, really nice after traveling for a couple of weeks. The rate I paid through booking.com was very affordable, this was a great value, probably the nicest place I stayed in 6 weeks of travel through Spain, Morocco, and Portugal. ||However, noise from the plaza below could be loud late into, the night, I had the windows open as the weather was nice. I really didn't mind, especially as I was on the third floor. I enjoyed looking over the plaza ( it is a lovely parklike small plaza, but with restaurants and bars). But if noise is an issue for you, you might want to book a back room.

Stayed here for six nights while attending a Spanish course and could not have chosen a better place to stay. The location was excellent, my room over looked a very pretty plaza, and it was only a minute away from Plaza Major. The room was large and comfortable, and kept spotlessly clean. Excellent Wifi. Staff helpful and friendly. Great value for money, and wholeheartedly recommend for anyone visiting Salamanca.

Just round the back meters from Plaza Mayor, this spacious and very clean hostel does the job for a one night scout of Salamanca. Tons of cafes in the area and you can set off immediately to see the beautiful intricate buildings. A little further is the river and turn around you can get a good picture of the immense cathedral. Our room with a little balcony overlooked the garden

Good place and great prices. It’s very cozy, extremely well located, and well kept. One downside: the beds are on the smaller side, both vertically (I’m not that tall and my feet were hanging in the air) and width. The staff is very for delay. If you come by car, they have a deal with parking ”San Juan” and you o only pay 12€ per day.
