Where to Stay in Mexico City During Your Visit (Updated 2025)

"Within walking distance of Coyoacán's attractions, I found Hostel Cuija to be bohemian and cozy, with artistic décor, free breakfast, free Wi‑Fi, and free parking; the bunks are basic but bathrooms are clean and the staff goes out of their way to help." - Matthew Kepnes

I had a very scary experience . The front desk man Javier was flirting with me|And entered my room without authorization .. I was so afraid as a solo traveler here. I’ll never stay here again ,

I found a strange insect on the bed. After checking Google Images and consulting ChatGPT, it appeared to be a bed bug. I informed the staff immediately, but they insisted it was not a bed bug. However, since neither of us are professionals, I chose to trust the AI analysis and decided to leave early for my own peace of mind. Unfortunately, no refund or compensation was offered. On top of that, when I was moved to another room for the night, NO BED SHEETS were provided. had to sleep directly on the original mattress and pillow, which felt unprofessional. This experience showed a lack of crisis management and concern for guest comfort. I hope the hostel takes this feedback seriously and improves its response to such issues in the future.

Don't stay. It was so bad. The bathroom are so dirty it has people's stuff in the showers, I'm pretty sure there was a group of men living there. The bed was as hard as a rock. Literally had a pain in my hip as if I slept on the floor on my side. I had crazy allergies, I think the blankets were covered in dust I'm not sure. The only good things I can say are the location is good and the host was pretty nice.

Unfortunately I can't recommend people stay here. This is based on the experience we had in the room we were placed in which was supposedly "super deluxe". There was a terrible smell from the bathroom, the bed was uncomfortable, the lighting was bad, WiFi in the room was poor, the toilet wouldn't flush properly, the towels had rips in them and you had to wait very long to have hot water. Significant work needs to be done to the room to make it acceptable.

Everyone was very nice. The place is beautiful. I wish the door buzzer wasn't so loud as my room was over it and there was a bit more shade in the lovely terrace area but otherwise I really couldn't ask for anything more. Another amazing hostel in Mexico. If I'm back in Coyoacan I'll stay here.

Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Location was an easy walk to the center of Coyoacán. Private room was basic, as expected. Private shower/toilet. Breakfast included. It was particularly cold during my visit to Mexico City and, like most of the rooms I stayed in, this one had no heat, so it was pretty chilly in the room. Didn't get a chance to hang out on the rooftop patio, but it looked nice.

This little hostal was very clean and comfortable and offers a free delicious breakfast that will fill you up nicely. The location is walking distance to el Centro and in the evening you can sit on their rooftop patio and enjoy the cool breeze.

The Hostal is pretty cool, has nice staff (they only speak spanish) and it´s clean! They have really cool terraces, to chill out and have a beer. The area is safe and super nice!||One bad thing is, that the rooms are pretty small....it´s not quite clear where to store your stuff. ||||But overall its a really good Hostal and I can highly recommend to stay here!
