Hostal de La Rabida

Excellent position, very helpful staff. They gave us very good recommendation for dinner and allowed us a later check out as we had an afternoon flight. Definitely recommended. Included breakfast was good as well. Definitely value for money

Had the misfortune of staying in an apartment that overlooked this property. There was loud music and voices coming from there until just before midnight when the music got turned up even louder. I can’t imagine what it was like staying there assuming it was even louder than what we could hear. A little consideration for your neighbours would be appreciated!

This little hotel was a great way to start a trip on my first visit to Ecuador. So nice to have a warm fire in the chilly evenings, and Pablo was a wonderful and helpful host, calling for taxis, showing me how to get around Quito, storing my luggage and some friends luggage on our last day there, so we could continue sightseeing after checkout time, then return for pick up. My room was very clean, had all the pure water I needed for drinking, and had both breakfast and dinner there- very convenient! It’s close to the botanical garden, as well as an easy taxi ride to Old Town. I was having a difficult time adjusting to the altitude change, and warm soup and coca tea helped a lot. The hotel is on a quiet side street and very safe feeling. Highly recommend to single female travelers, but also there were families there, so made for a cozy atmosphere. Everyone was so friendly. There was a very tasty Indian restaurant close by which accommodated my vegan friend.

My family and I had a wonderful stay at Hostal de La Rabida in July 2023. We stayed for two nights, then went to the Amazon, then came back for two more nights. We loved this charming little hotel! The owner and everyone on staff were so friendly and courteous - they really went out of their way to make sure every need was met. The owner gave us insider tips about places to eat and things to see, let us store a bag in the office while we were in the Amazon, and a staff member woke up at 3am to make sure we didn't miss our flight home. We ate there every night and the food was fantastic! We loved the garden courtyard as a place for our family to relax and share stories about the day while eating delicious food. The owner was so kind to sit with me and tell me how to make his Locro de Papa and we are going to make it at home this weekend to remember our wonderful trip. My daughter also fell in love with his wonderful dogs. We are not usually social on vacation, but we felt like we were treated like family at La Rabida. Muchas Gracias!

The staff was helpful answering questions in advance and arranging a driver from the airport. The facility was charming and very clean. There was a sitting room adjoining the breakfast area, and a little courtyard. Great breakfast. just overall a lovely little hostel

Great vibes all around. This quaint little gem was a refugee amongst the chaos of Quito. The new owner, Daniel, along with his adorable daughter and sweet pup Belle were so lovely and extremely accommodating to our needs. We stayed two nights while waiting for a flight to Vilca and each time we returned we were welcomed by the warmth of this place.

Great hotel and excellent value if you book in advance. Very friendly staff and pet rabbit "Brownie" entertained my son. Good breakfast and open fire lit in evenings very welcome on chilly Quito evenings.

The hostel has a nice atmosphere but we ( and the hostal) had an unlucky day. Unfortunately, we had a health emergency and we could not get out the building, staff was not available or reachable. Late at night the hotel personnel disappeared.
