Hostal Estación

Location was perfect (literally 30s walk away from the train platform), and staff was lovely. We booked two rooms and one of the heating units didn't work. The other room was fine and would've been 5 stars otherwise!

Clean, affordable. Staff was VERY helpful and friendly. My only complaint was that the walls are paper thin and I could hear every word of every conversation in the room next to me. I could hear them snoring, using the toilet, yawning, everything. Not a big deal in the middle of the day, but at 1:00am it was plenty annoying. Find yourself a good White noise app to stay here, and it will be just fine. Also, It was a little cold and i never saw a heater/thermostat, so I'm presuming the rooms are not heated. Not sure how this works in the winter. 😬 Again, the place is clean and felt safe (and was AFFORDABLE!). The restaurant next door was pretty good and the train station is 10 steps away. Free and ample parking. The city park down the main road is wonderful!

Free parking! Pleasant and helpful staff. Modern room 2 single beds would have preferred double but was fine. Overlooking station and there was no noise whatsoever! Very quiet. Warm room modern bathroom with free toiletries and hairdryer. Breakfast was included in out room price which was at station bar next door included toast with tomato and olive oil :) or butter and jam freshly squeezed orange juice and coffee. We also had lunch and supper at this station bar excellent food very large portions free tapa with a drink, and reasonable prices what more could you ask for. Highly recommended.

The rooms were very clean, comfortable and with everything you need for the price! Staff incredibly friendly and helpful, I recommend it definitely! It does not seem like you are in a hostel!

The hotel is quite good and with very reasonable prices. Don't expect anything fancy, just the basic accommodation. Room was clean and even though it is right next to the train station, can't say that there was much noise from the incoming trains. Staff are very polite, speak a few english. The area is very safe. The location is very good, bars and cafeterias nearby as well as bus stops to get to the city centre and the university.

First time in a Spanish hostal and we found the bed more comfortable than some 4* hotels we have stayed in. Breakfast basic in the restaurant next door. The window to our room was on the station platform but soundproofed, excellent air conditioning - all led to very comfortable night sleep. Jaen cathedral walkable in 20 minutes from Hostal along a tree lined road. Free car parking.

This hotel is great value for money, easy to find and with free parking right outside the door.There is an elevator and although the hotel is situated bang next to the railway line, trains were barely audible. The rooms are clean and bathrooms are reasonably well equipped. Breakfasts in the hotel's bar/restaurant were adequate and included in the room rate. The hotel is a 25 minute walk from the cathedral and main attractions (all up an incline) but a taxi for 4 was only 5 euros and the walk back easy.. The desk staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. Highly recommended.||If you have time take a taxi ride up to Santa Catalina Castle for the most spectacular views over the cathedral and city. Make sure you note the 'phone number from the side of the cab so you can call for a ride down when you are ready.

This hostel is situated at the train station in Jaen. You might think that sounds like a lot of noise, but think again. Despite the platform being just outside my window I never heard anything... Either the windows are very well insulated or maybe it is a ghost station...? I never saw any trains as well...||The hostel has an enormous free guarded car park which is really an asset. You are 10 minutes walk away from restaurant Casa Antonio, the best restaurant in town, that I can highly recommend (see my review). Also El Corte Ingles is same distance. Room was basic but fine. Wifi and airconditioning works. Bathroom fine. No fridge in the room...||Breakfast at the restaurant was fine. All in all ok for a single night.
