I decided at the last minute, to do a cheap 4 night break and chose El Jardin. I will say the staff were friendly enough and very efficient but my room was depressing. The single bed was uncomfortable and I only had one pillow. My room didn't have a balcony and my view was of rooftops with a hotel in the distance. The tv didn't have one channel in English and despite several attempts to connect to the WiFi, I was unable to. The air con was OK but there was some some sort of tool stuck in the front of the Aircon unit to keep it all in position. The window latch was broken and there was no lock on the inside of the door which made me nervous as I was travelling alone as a single woman. There was a small shelf on the wall which looked like it could fall off at any moment. The one good point was that there was plenty of hot water for a shower. A cleaner came in everyday to make the bed and empty the bin. Id paid for half board but only ate one meal while I was there which was satisfactory but I chose to eat out the rest of the time. The hostel is in a fabulous location, amidst all the shops, bars etc and the beach is a 5 min walk away. If you choose to stay here, i would advise picking a double room as the single really is small and claustrophobic. This place would probably suit backpackers and young people, for a quick stopover.Im 56 years old and well travelled but not too old to learn the lesson..." you get what you pay for!"

Clean room but dated, nice staff, not much English spoken which suited me, close to shops and both new and old beaches. No WiFi in the room but good WiFi in the communal area. You cannot park near the hostel, free parking is a 12 minute walk or pay for parking a 2 minute walk. Breakfast is basic, 2 pieces of toast with tomatoes and a coffee, te or orange juice. Airton in room as well as a heater, Spanish TV only. Overall, good value for money.

We booked one double room with double bed and one single room. We live in Spain so are not new to the area and love Benidorm. When we checked in the "Manager" mixed up the rooms and gave us the single room and our friend the double room. She then went out and we didnt realise we had the single room till next day. It was ghastly. Some of the floor tiles were broken, the floor was dirty, the TV didnt work. I went down to the bar (no reception desk) and complained. The barman rang the "manager) (not on site) and I complained. He said that if we wanted to leave he would refund us our money. As Benidorm was in the middle of its biggest fiesta there was no way we would have ever found another hotel within walking distance of the centre. So we put up with my husband sleeping on a broken and about to collapse single bed and me in another single bed next to the window (which wouldnt close therefore were bothered by mosquitos all night. The breakfast was coffee and a bun!||I would NOT recommend this Hostal to anyone. There are better 2 star Hotels in Benidorm (Princes Park etc) for less money and decent facilities. It should be closed down. It is no more than a Pension as says another of its reviews.

Although it may be cheap, I guarantee that you can find similarly priced hotels in Benidorm which will be much nicer.||||ROOM:||Everything about it was old-looking and feeling. Bedding-wise, our friend and I had a sheet we appropriately named the "Bed Rags" to sleep under. There were cracked tiles and mirrors.||||FACILITIES:||We had an en suite was okay, but there was no shower head holder which was an absolute pain. It was supposedly a 24 hour reception but this was certainly not the case. I don't recall there being Wi-Fi- if there was, it was locked. The "free breakfast" was a mere croissant.||||LOCATION:||Best thing about this place: more or less in the centre of Benidorm.||||FINAL COMMENTS:||Just don't come here. Please. You will be disappointed.

It took some time finding, not immediately obvious, was cheap and basic. Fine for my one night stay, any more would have been too much.||No restaurant but it's linked directly to a bar of the same name where they serve breakfast.
