The beauty of the Malecon 663 is unconventional. It is more of a community than a hotel - part gallery, part cafe, part restaurant and many other things besides, with a small number of unique rooms added on for the lucky few who are making this place home. Everything feasible is locally sourced, from the art down to the garnishes for the drinks, which the concierge makes at home (summing up the whole idea of the place)||||The decor embraces Cuba’s recycling culture in increasingly impressive ways - from weaved ring-pull lampshades and suitcase chairs all the way to a koi pond which escorts the plumbing out of the building, the very bones of the building are an ever-surprising delight. ||||The people, equally, are incredible. The concierges can’t do enough for us - any small ask is dealt with with the utmost urgency, whilst the bigger tasks; for instance assisting with our whole weeks itinerary, are never too much. Leveraging their local knowledge and contacts, we were able to cram so much more into our stay than we would have thought possible, and truly felt like locals. ||||The in-house offering is excellent. The rooms are beautiful, the food stunning and the drinks affordable and extremely moreish. At our request, a cigar and rum tasting and cocktail making evening was thrown together, and was an absolute blast. We couldn’t have asked for a more entertaining (and informative) evening. ||||We wanted to come to Havana and feel Cuban - and Malecon 663 delivered, and more. That’s the highest praise I can give to any hotel.||||Our special thanks to Willy, Angelo and Duniel for everything.
