Hostal Mirador Andino

We had such a lovely time at this place. It really is a gem, one of the best places I have stayed. The amount of work the owner put into this place is clearly a labor of love. The couple who own it are truly adorable, warm, lovely people. I will always recommend & come back to this hostel. 5+++ starts, make is 6 :-)

This place is wonderful! It is very unassuming when you see the front door, but then walking up the steps into a gorgeous, well cared for, and interesting decorated space. The hosts were very kind and accommodating. We stayed in a three bed room with an attached shower, although the water didn't get too warm. That's not a problem, as there are three shared bathrooms/showers that are clean, spacious, and have plenty of hot water! The roof top terrace is wonderful (both day and night) for looking out over Manizales. The property sells beer on site, which is nice. It seems to be in an ok part of town, but we came across a few suspect individuals while walking around at night (around 8 pm). There is a delicious restaurant a block down and across the street for authentic Colombian food. I would highly recommend this property for individuals or travel with friends or family.

Excellent. What you wish for when traveling is to have someone to treat you with warm and kindness which is exactly what Maria does. The decorations and the ambience are outstanding, and the rooftop vista has a fantastic view. Very centrally located. Great hostel.

Actually this place is really great. I arrived after midnight in March and the gentleman who owns the place let me in without fuss. He and his wife seem to run the home and they called me by by name at every meeting. The place is cozy, quiet, unique, friendly, and the mirador is easily one of the best views in Manizales. They only speak Spanish but are very friendly. I haven’t forgotten my 3 day stay.

This hostel is as I wish more hostels were: clean, quirky, creative and beautiful service. It might be a bit too quiet for youngsters, or especially a wonderful welcome relief from the busyness of other hostels! The kitchen is equipped with literally *everything*, even a toaster, blender etc. They have a cute little room where you can listen to vintage Colombian records. And a rooftop terrace with amazing views of the city. Maria is so sweet, attending to any questions, making you feel welcome and leaving you wanting to return.

Absolutely beautiful property so conveniently located right next to the cable car. A matter of steps. ||The staff are unbelievably helpful in planning onwards travel. And all so friendly. It has a very family feel. ||||The whole place was spotlessly clean. Towels are provided and soap and free coffee. ||||The upstairs rooftop bar is amazing. A really cool place to chill out and watch the sun set. ||||Showers are powerful and hot! Rooms are big.

Owners Maria and Jorge have created a magical oasis in the heart of Manizales. The hostel is a work of art--full of interesting collectibles, plants, and secret hang out spaces. The roof garden is the best. We spent many hours playing cards up there. Playing music in the living room was also a highlight. We will be back!!!
