Hostal Oasis

Rock walls, stained glass doors, cutesy decor: Hostal Oasis is funky, but pleasant. There are 5 rooms that open onto an outer, open courtyard, plus a few more that open onto a covered patio; the kitchen facilities are split between the two. Rooms are small but pleasant, and outdoor spaces, including a pretty garden, are nice, with a couple of friendly dogs and cats meandering about. The bed was comfortable, the water in the shower was hot. We liked that it is not in the town center, as we enjoy walking. The owners are very nice and helpful, and the place is safe and secure. Off-street parking for bicycles and motorcycles is available. We were there in the off season, and three of the five nights we were the only guests there. Had it had been full, it could have been a bit noisy, as it was, it was peaceful, with one exception: the owners held a loud party on Saturday night that ended about 4AM. The inner, covered patio smelled somewhat of cat urine, and the cats, while sweet, could be aggressive around food.

This hostel is great. Easy walk to the centre. Beautiful, clean rooms. Hot showers. A lovely outdoor space that is a peaceful place to enjoy the sun. Breakfast is only $1 and is superb. And the family that run the hostel are so so helpful and cheerful. They help you if you've any questions and make you feel very much at home. Definitely stay here if you're passing through riobamba and enjoy :-)

Few of this places remain in the world. Family run honestly welcoming places. The lady was very gentle. When we booked the hostel she said "thank you for visiting." We really felt welcomed and the lady was very accommodating. The price was excellent for the great rooms. I would highly recommend to support this type of places. It reminds me of home and family.

we stayied at the Oasis for two nights. It is more expensiv than such places are usualy in Ecuador (30$ for a double room) but compared to other hostals in Riobamba it is a good deal. Furthermore, it is very quiet (only if you have noisy tourists it can get loud as the doors and windows of the rooms are not very thick), clean and has a nice backyard to relax. The kitchen has all you need. |The very central location makes exploring Riobamba easy.

Tucked away just to the east of Riobamba's downtown ($1.35 taxi from bus terminal or 30 minute walk), Hostal Oasis is an . . . oasis. Past the front door and the friendly dogs is a garden courtyard with stone walls and arched doorways and rooms spread about. Different price ranges. But cooking facilities and group refrigerators for everyone, and lots of places to sit alone or in groups. Hot water - really! The owner, a really nice lady, and her late husband obviously built this place with love and dedication.

This a really cool hostel, with friendly staff. Nice rooms, you really feel like your home away from home.|Internet is slow, but free. The garden is lovely.|Location allows you to get a quiet sleep, since is away , but not for much, from downtown areas.||I will get back again and again!!

Everything is really cute. Nothing to say but is a bit far from the city centre. WiFi works very well but is not a juvenile hostel as it described. Price is ok . If u want quiet and relaxing time so is perfect.

It's relatively quiet with a nice patio.|The rooms are clean and have ensuite bathrooms with hot water.|The property comes with two super cute cats.||Unfortunately they don't offer breakfast and there aren't any nice cafés nearby, so you have to walk quite far or take a taxi to have breakfast.
