By far the worst hostel i have stayed in in Argentina. The room was filthy, hair all over the bedsheets, very dark and smelled of mold. No social activities whatsoever. My laundry came back stained, still had to pay for the service. During my stay many people left the hostel as it was filthy and not social. Trotamundo seems to be a good alternative. Don‘t come here!

I am honestly very surprised about the good reviews. The only reason I booked this hostel was that my flight arrived so late so I needed a hostel with a 24hs reception. So I appreciate that. The lady welcomed me with a friendly attitude. The 6 people dorm looked so different from the pics on hostelworld, the bedding they use was definitely not washed because it had hair on it. The upper bunk bed was full of dust, the bed sheet was so thin that it was so worn out over the years. No air in the room. Seeing how much hygiene this place lacks, I couldn't sleep at all because if they don't even wash the bedding they might as well have bed bugs. I actually had an intense rash few days after staying here so who knows...I said I wanted to change my room or get a refund as I could not stay there. The bathroom was also falling apart, they had a towel that had a hole on it. The lady woke up her other colleague who was understandably not happy, but neither was I after 15 hours of flight. He refused to give me the refund, and insisted on asking for extra 1000 pesos If I wanted to change my room. Later he also confessed that they don't wash the bedding (the duvet kinda blanket) every day! After a lengthy conversation, he agreed to give me half of my money back (with the attitude of telling her colleague in Spanish "give her the money so she leaves"). I have been travelling for 12 years, worked at hostels myself, there is a lovely traveller's culture among people who stay in hostels, and unfortunately this behavior doesn't belong there. I hope this person reflects on his behavior and treats the guests better. Edit: to the reply of the premises Unfortunately asking for basic hygiene is not considered OCD. If you asked to see the proof, we could have examined the bed together but you did not. No, I did not want a single room, if I wanted I would have booked so. I love hostel culture, but not the one you foster unfortunately. Also I checked the other poor reviews, and it is only sad to see the premises replies by attacking people instead of taking reviews for consideration which already says so much about your attitude. Anyone who is reading this can see that I leave reviews very frequently and I leave very positive reviews when I see the merit, so I am not here to defame anyone for no reason. Good luck to you with everything.

This hostel is probably great for young people. Its lively and easy to make friends and party. However as a couple and slightly older group of people who have been travelling around latin america in hostels, we struggled with this hostel particularly, despite the large room, it was very dark and humid and the bathroom/shower were damp and in very small cupboard-like space, the room smelling of cigarettes and loud people just outside the door until late in the night. The stafff was lovely and friendly and the hostel does look quite cute when you walk in, plants everywhere and cute hammock area etc. The kitchen area is big but was not super practical for cooking as busy with people doing drinking games and the tools for cooking were rusty. A shame that after a few hours you already feel like you need to escape outside and see sunlight and not be in a smelly humid space. We did 2 nights and it was too much for us unfortunately but i would recommend for young people as it had a social and fun vibe.

The Prisamata is not just a hostel, it is a family. I was welcomed with open arms, always listened to and met fantastic people, both volunteers and workers. Respect for guests and work comes first. Demian, Antonella, Pablo, Aldana, Erik, Ime have left a mark on my adventure that I will hardly forget. Thank you for everything and see you soon.

I loved my stay at Prisamata whilst in Salta. It had such a chilled vibe, but was also a good place to socialise and meet other travellers. The staff are so friendly and will go out of their way to always make sure you’re comfortable and have everything you need, especially Sara and Antonella, they are the best volunteers in any hostel in the world! :P if you’re visiting Salta I highly recommend staying here!

One of the best hostel during my trip through Argentina! The ambience is soo good. Everyone is really open, helpful and happy. Too bad I only stayed for one night and discovered this hostel to late. The staff was really friendly and involved. It felt personal and like home. The only downside is the rooms that can become quite hot during the night, due to a lack of windows. Furthermore, the breakfast is just average😉.

This is exactly the type of hostel you hope to find. The kitchen is big, well equipped and clean, and a simple breakfast is provided too. There are common areas inside, outside and a big table in the kitchen to socialise, which makes it easy to meet other people. We stayed in a double room and the bed was incredibly comfortable, even better than most hotels! We didn't want to get out of bed it was so comfy. The room also had heating. During our stay we had no issues with noise and quiet hours were respected by guests. There is 24/7 security as the door is kept locked, and everyone working there was very helpful and professional. I wish there were more hostels of this standard in Argentina! Gracias!

I have stayed in Prisamata for a few nights and then even came back because I enjoyed it so much. As soon as you enter, it feels like home. The staff is super friendly and helps you out as much as possible. The hostel has a very cozy and chilled vibe and offers multiple places to chill. However, the hostel underlies a few restrictions such as not being able to stay in any common area after 1.30am. Visitors are not allowed. This ensures a good night sleep but might restrict ones stay.
