Hostal Restaurante Santa Marta

My wife and I stayed here 4 months ago as part of a trip through Spain. We had booked it especially as it was dog friendly. First impression from the front is a building in need of TLC but do not be put off. Inside the public areas are beautiful wooden panels and glass. The restaurant is amazing especially the lights behind decorated glass ceiling. The rooms are comfortable but compact. Free WIFI is included. The food is amazing. We selected the slightly more expensive menu at a massive 28 euros per head incl wine, selected a main course as invited by the waiter and were treated to a banquet of portions of all 5 starters, main course and desert and a lovely bottle of wine. Only us and 2 lorry drivers staying. We were made to feel more than welcome, important even. I would stay at this place again and again cannot big it up enough.

We had a lovely triple room with comfy beds, TV, air condition and even a balcony to sit outside. Very well placed near everything you need and near the Palace. Good value for money. We had a lovely three course evening meal with a drink for eleven euros which was delicious. The receptionist was very friendly and spoke good English. There was plenty of on street parking which was free and we could see our car from our window.

The Restaurante Santa Marta is on Calle Infantes 17 & 19, very close to the Palacio Real, past Palacio de Godoy. ( Ask the way!) We came here for our main meal of the day after enjoying the gardens of Aranjuez. We had an excellent Menu del Dia for Euros 13 each which included a bottle of local red wine. The food was traditionally Spanish and the postre was fresh strawberries and 'fresh' whipped cream, NOT artificial. It was a delicious and relaxing meal with excellent service in very beautiful surroundings.||The décor of the restaurant dates from about 1920 but it is as immaculate and clean as 2016! Most of the diners were local people.||The restaurant is also a hostal, and after reading the reviews and seeing the perfect location, it is somewhere I would love to stay for a few nights.

The Hostal is very well situated, 5 minutes from historic area and a huge wonderful park.||We found free parking on the street which was very good.||The Hostal itself is very clean, our room was very nice, comfortable bed, small balcony overlooking the street, which we liked and a very clean bathroom.||The staff were not at all helpful, made us feel very unwelcome from the check-in to the check-out.||We had breakfast there at 3 Euro, which was good value, but even then the waiter was bordering on being rude. There is no lift and the stairs are very narrow.

We have stayed at the Santa Marta on a few occasions along with our two dogs.||The façade is a bit tired, but once inside it is very clean with well equipped rooms and the prices are very reasonable. ||The dining room is excellent, very Art Deco and the food is good and substantial, friendly staff.||The only downside is parking, the area is very busy and at certain times of the day it is almost impossible to park.

We stopped here looking for 2 rooms for a night, they only had one and were very helpfull in finding us another rooom at another hotel, they gave us directions and also got us a good price.||My parents took the room here it was clean and comfortable and they had a good nights sleep.||We ate in the bar, the food was really good traditional Spanish fare at reaonable prices with good service, would highly reccommend and will return. Good location in what seems a lovelly town in central Spain

We arrived late in aranjuez and the gps wasn't helpful, eventually about 11 pm friendly locals directed us to the hotel, very friendly staff and a huge meal still provided. Room awas small clean and comfortable. Situated next to a great cafe for breakfast and near the aranjuez palace which must not be missed.

We have stayed at this hotel, just south of Madrid on several occasions en route from Andalucía to the ferry ports of Santander or Bilbao, it never disappoints.||The hotel is quite small, good staff and very clean rooms, it is also pet friendly and has free Wi-Fi access throughout the hotel.||The Santa Marta's restaurant is very good, serving regional produce at a reasonable price.||The location of the hotel is excellent, surrounded by lots of restaurants and bars and also close to the historic sites offered by Aranjuez.||On street car parking only, is available and it can be a problem to find a suitable space depending on the time of day.||One of our favourite hotels and will continue to stay here.
