I stayed at Hostal Rosalia in Ibiza and booked directly through their website, which offered a great price compared to other platforms—definitely a plus. Reception was welcoming and check-in was smooth. There’s an elevator to reach the upper floors, which is convenient.
However, the room itself was extremely basic. No fridge in the room—which is surprising, especially during the hot Ibiza summer. The air conditioning didn’t work properly; it just displayed an error message. I saw other reviews mentioning this too, so it seems like an ongoing issue. To their credit, I informed reception on the first night and they managed to get it working temporarily, but once I removed and reinserted the electricity key card, it stopped again. The same thing happened the next day, and by then I didn’t bother chasing it further.
The shower head was broken, so I had to hold it over my head—not ideal. I would expect cleaners to notice and report something so obvious. Also, the balcony doesn’t feel very secure, as it’s easy to hop between them—so definitely remember to lock the balcony door and draw the curtains when going out.
There’s a TV in the room, but you have to ask reception for the remote, which felt a bit odd. I also wasn’t offered or made aware of any breakfast during my stay—if it was available, it wasn’t advertised clearly.
Walls are paper-thin. You can hear every movement and conversation from neighbouring rooms. It’s probably the noisiest room I’ve stayed in, sound-wise.
All in all, for the price I paid, it served its purpose: a budget-friendly way to have a private room in Ibiza. Just don’t expect much beyond that. If management took on board some of the obvious feedback—like fixing the air con, replacing broken fixtures, and improving basic security—it could be a much better experience.
