Highlights

Quaint inn offering a rustic restaurant & a cafe/bar, plus a traditional interior courtyard. On a quaint street lined with restaurants in the historic center, this cozy inn occupies a historic building with a traditional interior courtyard. It's a minute's walk from the Torre del Reloj, a famous tower, a 5-minute walk from medieval Castillo de Zahara de la Sierra and 1 km from the A-2300 regional route. Set around the courtyard, the unfussy rooms have antique furnishings, and offer flat-screens and free Wi-Fi. Some sleep 3 people. A relaxed restaurant with vaulted ceilings and a rustic vibe serves regional cuisine. There's also a cafe/bar, and a guest lounge with a wood-burning stove. Breakfast is available in the interior courtyard.

We have been visiting Zahara for many years and our first choice is always this hostal The manager Santiago is very kind and attentive. He is always available to give assistance if needed. The family are constantly upgrading the facility so each year we find some new changes. Rooms are comfortable and spotlessly clean. The location in the centre of the village I'd ideal for wining and dining. A good breakfast is available on site and it's the perfect way to start the day before exploring the numerous walks in the area. We will definitely return Freddie y Paco

The positives are this is a quiet hotel with a pleasant inner courtyard for breakfast and situated right on the quiet main street of Zahara de la Sierra. The manager was pleasant and the room was clean and bed comfortable. The room was extremely dark, even with all the lights on, and the furniture is getting a little tired. The plumbing is less than ideal with a request to not flush any paper. That said, it served our needs and was a pretty good deal.

Large but very dark room. Bed was comfortable and shower worked well. The manager was friendly and there is a pretty interior courtyard where breakfast is served. Was surprised that we couldn't put any paper in toilet. The price is right and the location is great.

obviously the rating is not as much for the hotel room as it is for the environment.||the hotel is simple and decent. clean. you get AC, WiFi. in our case the room was actually fairly big.||we did not try the breakfast: we should have done considering there is limited option around.||what trumps all is the location near the top of zahara in a mostly pedestrian area with plenty restaurants just downstairs and the view from either our room or the plaza. when at Marques, you are out of this world and can enjoy quiet and the tapas.

I stayed 2 nights on my own in this very cute little hotel. The location was perfect . There are charming restaurants and bars right outside the hotel. Zahara is a stunning , picture postcard village and if you like walking or exploring then this is a great place to base yourself.||||I personally think , you need at least 1 night in each of the whitewashed villages. Its a shame to just visit these villages and not spend a night . A glass of wine is no more than EUR2.00 , the food is great and the scenery is breathtaking . ||||The hotel is charming and in the best location in the village. I would definitely return.||||There is a very nice walk to the castle from the hotel with gorgeous views. It is not difficult walk though uphill, however saying that , you need to have a reasonable level of fitness to even think about walking around these villages , they are all incredibly hilly. ||||The drive from Zahara to Grazalema is one I will never forget, absolutely breathtaking. I visited Sentenil from Zahara and again it was an incredible breathtaking drive and well worth the visit . Sentenil is another amazing place.||||The only reason this is not a 5 star review is that the wifi doesnt work well in the bedrooms, the rooms can be a little cold in the winter and the hot water takes a while to run. But otherwise it a great choice .

Only stayed one night, had a large room (102) but I think they are all similar. Comfortable bed. Nice town. Eighties colour (in U.K.) bath. The view over the town was nice. We were there on Easter Sunday and enjoyed mingling with the celebrating locals. A 50 yard walk gives you stunning views across the reservoir. We hit lucky with parking, but others had a little walk. A bit of a walk up to castle, twenty mins, gives great viewpoint. Typical Spanish breakfast was good for us. Would stay again.

We recently booked 2 rooms for one night in Zahara at this lovely hotel and were very pleased with our stay. My husband and I had a spacious room with a small balcony overlooking the main street. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious with excellent coffee. The man at reception was also welcoming and helpful. Would highly recommend the town of Zahara with its beautiful streets and views and definitely recommend this hotel.

We booked 2 rooms in Hostal Marques de Zahara for 1 night. The staff was very friendly and helpeful before and during our stay. The rooms were very spacious, with great views and, in one case, a balcony facing the street in front of the hotel. ||||The beds were comfortable and it was very quiet during our stay, so we had a good night's rest. The breakfast was simple but good. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Zahara de la Sierra and its surroundings. It's about a 40 minute drive from Ronda and well worth the detour for anyone looking for a good, quiet place to stay after visiting Ronda.
