Hostal Santo Tomé

Absolutely fantastic and perfect in every way. I cannot say enough about how wonderful this hotel is and how much I hope to return again in the future! The kindness of the owner, the view, the skills of the housekeeper, the location. . . I will never stay anywhere else in Toledo. This place is legitimately a destination hotel.

Hostal Santo Tome is a wonderful find in the historic center of Toledo. Just steps from the Cathedral, the owner/host is welcoming, rooms are large and spotlessly clean, and it is a fantastic value for the money! Our room featured a large balcony to enjoy the passing parade of pedestrians on the street below --- lovely views of the ancient rooftops and the Cathedral's tower, just a short walk away. We will definitely stay at Santo Tome again!

What a pleasant surprise this Hostal turned out to be. We booked at the last minute as this was not our first choice and we were initially undecided about whether to check into a Hostal rather than a Hotel but this Hostal is absolutely wonderful. It is located in a ‘no entry’ pedestrianized area but this is easy enough to get into if you're driving by pulling up to the barrier (one of the 'column' types that retracts into the road surface), pressing the ‘call’ button and stating the hotel you need to reach. The person on the end of the line lowers the barrier and you’re through. After dropping off our bags we had to take the car to a secure parking area a short distance away where it was safely parked for the duration of our stay. The Hostal is situated on the upper floors above a souvenir shop all of which is owned by the same man. He was unbelievably nice and helpful. He gave is great directions to the covered parking, he recommended shopping and sights to see and he could not have done more for us. And this was all while he was also running his shop and keeping his customers happy. The Hostal is opposite a nice open-air bar where we had drinks and lunch and which we could see from the Hostal balcony. The Hostal was safe, clean, comfortable, and for the price we thought represented fantastic value for money. It is located on a busy pedestrian street but a good night’s sleep was no problem at all. We have no problem at all recommending this Hostal to back-packers and regular tourists alike.

This is a very well run Hostal in the wonderfully atmospheric old Jewish quarter of Toledo. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and my room was a good size with a comfortable bed and great bathroom. The whole place is very clean and an excellent base for exploring this magnificent old city. Overall I would rate it as excellent for the reasonable price paid.

Great location for exploring Toledo, in the heart of the old City, really a perfect location to see everything during a stay.||The Hotel is actually accessed by going into the adjoining shop. ||Easy check in, clean rooms, good space, and air con which is a welcome bonus.||The man (owner?) checking us in was exceptionally friendly and helpful.||I’d recommend this hotel for anyone wanting to see the local attractions on foot.

Perfectly located, gracious host, very clean, and amazing value for money. It's a hostal (not a hostel) so we had a private room with bath. But unlike a hotel, there's little to no staff (the front desk is just the counter at a souvenir store) so nobody to help with luggage. Mattresses were very very soft and pillows were no good. But this hostal is definitely highly recommended for budget-conscious travelers.

We stayed over a couple of weekend nights at this well run establishment as part of hastily planned trip. We could not have been more pleased with the location and could not have been more impressed with the caliber, friendliness and helpfulness of Juan and the other staff--what a joy! The room was large enough, had a decent closet and pleasant and very clean overall. The wifi was a little weak but serviceable. The bed was a little small for me 6'3" but I really can't complain as I slept well and we were so close to all the attractions. We will stay there next time we visit Toledo.

The manager/owner good not have been kinder and more helpful. He helped me out with several problems, including a parking ticket I should not have been given. The room, beds, bathroom and balcony were excellent. Great location Santo Tomé!! Loved it, Peter and Robin
