My room was clean but small and had no windows, the benefit from not having any windows was that there where no outside noise and I slept good :) I picked the room because of the location a 5-10 minute walk from Sol.

Very well located. Very clean. A bit noisy when clients leave early.

The rooms have very thin walls Anything you do, everybody hears That way you have no privacy at all

Initially we went to the wrong place. Hotel Sardinero looks lovely btw! Hostel Sardinero is fine for what we paid. We had a street terrace. The aircon is extra money. We needed it so we paid but it did leak everywhere. The TV volume was stuck on low so we could barely hear it. The receptionist was very nice and we got by even though she spoke no English. She let us leave our luggage there after checkout. The entrance is through a common area with a elevator.

DON’T STAY IN THIS HOSTEL! Sadly I had a really bad experience. First the only person at the reception (he’s never there) doesn’t speaks English. I booked and paid through Booking.com for private room with bathroom, balcony, air conditioning and internet. When I arrived there he said I had to pay extra EU$10 to switch aircon in and didn’t give me the internet password. The balcony was very small and just the air conditioner fit there. Room wasn’t clean there was dirty in the corners. Building very old. the shower water jet was weak. I had 2 more days in Madrid so I had to renew the stay there as I didn’t have time to research other place. That was when the nightmare started. I got same room even paid a bit more. Next day I went to a trip to Toledo. The owner started to send me messages to go back to the hostel to switch rooms. I told him I couldn’t be there before 5 pm because I was in a trip far. So he threatened me to call the police even though I had paid for the stay the night before. I cried and had stomachache as I get too nervous. My friend had to call him to ask again to wait until we come back to Madrid to move my things. When we went back he was furious and rude gave us 5 minutes to switch rooms. So the new room was smelling sewage. I had to open the window (no balcony) because it was a bad smell. I didn’t risk saying anything to him I was afraid of him. Such a nightmare!

Was a terrible experience, it is a very old building but it is okey… we were 2 days with light problems, the light come and goes, till it burn our air condition, television, and window, and then we asked for solution and our answer was that have no solution, it was 22:00 at night, we had no idea what to do, we packed all our stuff which was so much cause we have big travel for Brazil next day… everything running because we needed sleep good and had no air condition in European Summer, and then in the end they did find us a room to stay that was “okey” but also the problem we the lights continue coming back and forward… the rooms also had problems, like the shower which was really hard to find good temperature of water, they didn’t give us no support or tips. Was one of my worst experiences on some hotel in my life.

Basic but clean and comfortable, in excellent location. Very helpful and obliging English-speaking manager. Need to call to be let in first time, but then you have your own keys to the property. On 3rd floor with lift. Good value for money.

Terrible stay, stuff, and hotel. I stayed 3 nights in this hotel and never had this bad experience. Don’t expect to get remote of air condition, good service or hospitality.Last night of our stay was the worst due to the fact that there was no electricity so we wanted to leave the hotel and asked for our money back , after waiting on reception desk for 20 minutes with our baggage receptions didn’t know how to solve the problem and they offered us another room in the part of hotel where was still light but it was going on and off for hours. Not to mention that hostel is really dirty, a lot of things need to be changed, bad equipped, terrible service. They didn’t say once that they are sorry for what is happening. We just couldn’t wait to leave this hostel. I guess that people think that because they have some property in center of Madrid they don’t need to invest any money or change things that don’t work.
