I stopped here before going on to explore the castle and cathedral, at the risk of losing out on kitchen hours if I had gone later. It was a chilly afternoon but comfortable enough to sit outside enjoying the wonderful ambience that is the the historical village of Blois. The waitstaff was attentive and friendly, and the food once ordered, came in about 20 minutes. The risotto was divine and my sbagliato a wonderful match. I absolutely recommend this restaurant for not only its location but also the delicious food and kind staff who make it a worthwhile stop.

Delicious and tasty, we found again the taste of Italy🥰 We shared the Burrata as a starter and then had Risotto Forestiero and La Dama Bianca (for vegetarians👍🏻). Both dishes were delicious and totally met our expectations. For the dessert, we got Tiramisù and Panettone Perduto. Quantities are generous and the lady was so sweet. I will come back for sure!

Seeing the reviews we wanted to test it during our trip there but don’t get your hopes high.
We shared Italian cold cuts as a starter and it was good
We tested the fregola that was waaaay far from the real fregola sarda but edible
The linguine in the Parmesan wheel weren’t tasty at all - it was much too creamy without real flavors
The staff (not all 3 ladies) were helpful, especially the « youngest ».
Anyways not a must

The food was exquisite, in correct quantities, and the service was quick and efficient. Definitely the restaurant to try if you can afford it. It's next to Blois' Castle, and there is no car near it.

Absolutely great restaurant close to Château. Small but very delicious menu. Wide range of wine and interesting whiskey. Good choice of cheese 👌👌👌
Staff was very warm and friendly

There are plenty of restaurants cooking Italian food in France. But the last time I had authentic Italian food before going to Hostaria del Re was in Italy! A real gem in Blois! Grazie!

A little hard to find when relying on a car--Google Maps didn't understand that it was on a different level in the city. We ended up figuring it out by parking down in the square below and walking up the stairs. The stairs are plentiful and steep but there's a railing and a bench halfway up. (Our parents needed this help.) But then we got to this charming little restaurant and got to sit on their beautiful terrace that overlooked the city and river below. The food was worth the treasure hunt! Although we've been loving the French fare, we were ready for a little something different and this delectable Italian cuisine fit the bill.
