Dino & Tony's is a real gem! Authentic food. Great atmosphere. Our group of 6 ladies loved every second of it. The staff were excellent. Food was abundant and delicious. Reasonably priced. And Tony and Dino were wonderful! Definitely would highly recommend a visit to this restaurant!

Google
Family-owned business, nice home-like atmosphere. The antipasti were good, the pasta amatriciana was good but the pasta carbonara sadly was a bit disappointing. The sauce had chunks of egg in it which should not happen. The atmosphere in the restaurant can get a little loud and the owner is a little „rough“, which is normal for italians but can easily be too much for tourists. We for example liked it.

During our trip to Rome, my son and I stumbled upon this gem. It was a delightful surprise! The pasta was exquisite, and the atmosphere felt like stepping into an Italian movie. The chef, Toni, and the waiter, Dino, are brothers, which added a charming, familial touch. If you’re planning a visit to Rome, don’t hesitate to stop by. It’s a wonderful experience with excellent food and service

I wasn't initially planning on writing a review, but the fact that I'm still daydreaming about the Amatriciana pasta I had at Hostaria Dino e Tony well over a month ago speaks volumes! This place is truly special. We stumbled upon it because our guesthouse in Prati was literally a minute's walk away. Fresh off the plane, we dropped our bags and headed straight there for lunch, and what a fantastic decision it was! The food was absolutely delicious. Hostaria Dino e Tony has that quintessential typical Roman setting that makes you feel like you've stumbled upon a truly local, hidden gem. The atmosphere is wonderfully unpretentious. The owner seems like quite the funny character, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, quick to offer excellent suggestions. I even recommended it to a friend who traveled to Rome two weeks after my trip, and we both wholeheartedly agreed: it was by far the best meal we had in Rome during our week-long stays! You absolutely have to experience it for yourself.

Family owned and operated. The most beautiful family ! Want to thank Dino and Tony for the most fabulous food. Seemed like food and drinks kept coming out in abundance. Authentic Italian food. The place was packed. Our friends we are traveling with came 12 years ago and raved about it back then. From Bradenton Florida

We didn’t have a good experience at this restaurant. We had high expectations, since it was featured on a Brazilian TV channel and had good reviews online. Unfortunately, it turned out to be our worst dining experience in Rome. First, the service was disappointing. The staff pushed the antipasti as if it was mandatory, and they did this to every single table. Then, they forgot our drinks. We were waiting for them before our food arrived, and noticed that other tables who came after us were already being served. When my husband tried to ask about our drinks, the waiter cut him off mid-sentence and simply walked away. We tried again, and when the beer finally arrived, it was the wrong size. My husband had ordered a small one, but they brought a large one—and the waiter didn’t seem pleased at all when we asked for it to be changed. After a while, the food arrived. We ordered a carbonara and a pasta with funghi. The funghi pasta was decent, but the carbonara was honestly terrible. I swear, it looked like pasta with scrambled eggs—we could even see bits of egg white. Not to brag, but the carbonara I make at home is ten times better. We were really disappointed, especially considering this was supposed to be a traditional Italian restaurant. To top it off, when the waiter asked how everything was, my husband said: “Not good. The service is not good and the food is not good.” The waiter replied, “Everybody loves it here.” That was his only response—not friendly, not professional, not even polite. We wouldn’t recommend this place and we’re definitely not coming back. We paid €34 for a small beer, an aranciata, and two plates of pasta. It was definitely not worth it.

Google
This is not a restaurant it’s an EXPERIENCE! Dino & family are incredible!! Dino sat down with us and basically ordered for us (no English lol)…and we were so happy he did, the food was incredible! He is like your long lost Italian grandpa. The staff is incredible! Dessert was great, and they put a whole bottle of limoncello on the table for us to drink at our leisure. 110% go here!!

Google
I bumped into this place while walking over the Prati area close to the Vatican. Due to Labor Day, it was packed, but 90% locals, so it immediately had my attention. This is not a place if you are in a hurry or want perfect service. It is not about that, they are not worried about providing a good service at all. You should understand this is their concept because you are mostly going to be served by one of the owners, and they have plenty of tables. So if you are up to deal with slow service, mistakes in comandas, waiters forgetting you are there. Then stay because the food is worth it. I had the fried artichoke and the fettuccine with mushrooms. Both were delicious, and for dessert the Panacota, OMG I could eat a big bowl of that. Prices are good. So, in my opinion.. give it a try. Just be patient.

Yelp
This was one of the best experiences we had in Italy. After a long day walking around Rome and an evening touring the Vatican, we found this very authentic and delicious restaurant not far from the beaten path. The staff did not really speak English, and they gestured my husband and I into ordering the house special. Great decision ! They just kept bringing out plate after plate of little pizzas, calzone things, three plates of pasta, desert , limoncello, etc. I think it came down to $30-50 a person, I forgot. It was a beautiful and unforgettable experience for an American ! There were a ton of locals there kissing and greeting the staff, so that was a good sign to us that this place was a neighborhood staple.

Yelp
I went to this restaurant because it was highly recommended on YouTube by a bunch of bloggers. I seriously want to warn other tourists. It was super busy with many locals, so I thought we were safe. We were not. We were never given a menu, the owner was running around asking "appertivo?" or "meat or fish?" and ended up serving us a nearly 4 course dinner, for lunch. When we said we didn't want something he looked offended so we said okay. By the end of the lunch it took over an hour and a half, we were stuffed, and we paid more than any other restaurant that we went to in Rome. We were looking at a nearly 120 euro bill just for lunch. I was appalled. The food was nothing special. I got better cacio e Pepe at a random Italian burger fusion restaurant down the street. The fish was so greasy it upset my stomach literally the rest of the night. The service definitely slowed down towards the main entrees and we waited a long time, all while being seated shoulder to shoulder with strangers and the owners screaming at the staff. My warning to tourists is: stand your ground when being offered something that you do not want, ask for an itemized bill (it's illegal if they don't), and DO NOT feel pressured to tip. The owner was giving out t shirts and plates to those that tipped which felt like pressure in itself.

Yelp
I'd eat here again if came to Rome 100%. Food was delicious and I didn't even have to pick what I wanted, the servers already knew the vibes. Table of 3 and spent 90 euros.

Yelp
Wow! Amazing family style restaurant. No menu. Too much food for four.. lots of appetizers, then 3 kinds of pasta, then the fish and meat, then food coma.. tiramisu was custard style, and was great as well. Don't miss!

Yelp
The food was phenomenal and abundant for such a great and historic city! There is not enough time to explore Rome but this restaurant is a must see on your list. The pasta was fresh, deliciosa and rich with unique tastings and texture. The staff was so pleasant and treated us like family. It was a great time at the restaurant !

Yelp
Yes I know it's the legendary place that only locals go, but the whole owner yelling at the staff and then occasionally yelling out at the dining room to figure out who ordered something...pass. Excellent traditional Roman food, good pricing. Atmosphere? Worth putting up with...once.

Yelp
Awesome food and service! Will eat there again!! If you don't leave there stuffed you did it wrong:)

Danielle B.

Yelp
Please do not go here!! Was very excited to dine at Dino e Toni's and was incredibly disappointed. The food is not good; it is quite flavorless and the pasta is extremely hard. The table next to us asked to send the pasta back because it was too Al dente. There are no menus provided and they bring you what they want. Even after saying no to more food, they kept pressuring us for more dishes. When it came time to pay, the waiter came over with a literal calculator and just pressed random numbers as he listed what we ordered (or what they ordered). Ended up being $60 for two people; a meal that should not have been more that $40 based on taste and service. Do not come here!! We did not trust the reviews that said it was a scam and look at how we ended up.

Yelp
Dino e Toni is a neighborhood gem that you must try when in Rome. We first experienced this little gem back in 2006 and it was just thesaurus then as it is today. Brothers Dino and Toni are the quintessential Italian restauranteurs, and make you feel as though you are family. And believe me, when they say mangia, you mangia. And just like an Italian mother they will scowl at you if you don't clean the plate! Fabulous food. When you go just let them feed you, don't use the menu. You will not be disappointed. Fabulous Roman food. From St Peter's it's about 3/4 of a mile walk. Just follow the wall that forms the border to the Vatican and you will get there! It's such a wonderful place. We go every time we are in Rome.

Yelp
One my first visit to the Eternal City I was brought to this wonderful little historian near Vatican City. My relatives whom I was was with and other friends brought us to this place. The food was brought non stop to our table by the owners. What. Couple of characters. They were having a great time making sure everyone was being served. For such a small kitchen I was amazed at the amount, quality and selection of food produced. We started with verifiable appetizers and this included meats, breads, pizzas and pastas. The wine flowed freely, both red and white. Thinking that the meal was completed the entre s started. I cannot mention all of the food delivered to our table. But, it was extensive. Thinking I was finished the desserts stated to arrive. All types of pastries and deserts started to fill the table. Finishing off this food display was the lemon cello and Zibibbo. If ever in Rome don't miss this wonderful place. Price per person was 21 Euros. Well worth the trip.

Yelp
Went here with high expectations given Yelp reviews, and we were not disappointed. The service was the best we had in Rome. The wait staff were super friendly and they convinced us to just take what they served. We had a great antipasto dish (loved the Gorgonzola pizza) and main pasta dish. They gave us each a free grappa at end of meal too. It was a bit more expensive (110E for 4) than I expected for lunch but we left satisfied, and didn't need to eat dinner. These guys really seem to enjoy their passion of serving great food with entertaining service.

Yelp
There aren't words enough to describe how much I loved this place. It is a jewel of Rome. The food is abundant and amazing, but the best part is the interaction with and between the brothers! Grazie Mille!

Yelp
Great place! Good food. But make sure you clean your plate or you won't get your next course. Overall, a fun experience.

Yelp
The best Italian food I've ever had , I was there with my wife and we had the ultimate dining experience. Be prepared to eat a lot of good food. The staff are welcoming and are very personable which made for a great evening. I actually said to my wife that I would come back to Rome just to eat here.

Yelp
Great authentic Italian atmosphere, but pretty plain food. Unlike some, we didn't get ripped off. Only 6 euros for a jug of house wine to share. Water was 1 euro per liter. Antipasti (appetizer) was a bit pricey at 9 euros each. I'd personally recommend skipping this regardless of how hard they try to upsell you. The pasta dishes are pretty good and also only 9 euros each. They have dishes with meat and without. You can also get 1/2 with red sauce & 1/2 with white. Desserts are 5 euros each, but I'd recommend trying the gelato store right next to it. Our favorite part was how friendly everyone was with one another. The owners were interacting with everyone and it felt like a big happy family. The most annoying part for us was when Dino (owner) saw us leave a tip for the waitress and immediately grabbed it and stuffed it into his apron. I'm glad we went, but doubt that we'll be back.

Yelp
The name may be wrong on yelp. In exact same location is a place called "hostaria dei bastioni" but I believe it is the same place. I had the spinach ravioli with almond sauce and I didn't leave a spot of sauce left on my place. It was so creamy and I did not want to waste a single drop. Good location, good prices.

Yelp
Definitely a place to eat. Large communal tables. You sit down and order you drinks , food start coming. Croquettes, salami prosciutto, pizzetes with eggplant, blue cheese, artichokes. Then penne alla arrabiata, caccio peppe. Followed by meat or fish. A selection of desserts. The either grappa or limoncello. Coffee if you wish. A food orgy. Excellent food and service that won't break the bank. What a pleasant discovery.

Yelp
Great recommendation from our tour guide Amor This is the real deal, no tourist place for a good meal at a great value. We met Dino and Tony. They picked the antipasti. What showed up was a delight. Each bite better than the last. A very thin pizza that had, as best as I can describe, 3 different sections of heaven. One a arugula, one simple tomato and cheese and the other a broccoli and blue cheese wonder. This was also accompanied by a couple of thin slices of salami and prosciutto. We also had fried nuggets of love. On was fried potato. One was green olive and meat and the last was our favorite. A sweet cream mixture. All perfectly breaded and fried. Then came a red and a white pasta. Both perfectly al dents. Crisp lardons and simple but flavorful sauce with a touch of parmigiana. House red and a tiramisu were icing on the cake. Go. Enjoy.

Yelp
I was walking past the tables situated outside on the sidewalk and I saw something that looked sort of like a brown blooming onion on some of the diners' plates. It was a fried artichoke, evidently, a specialty of the house. I couldn't resist the temptation. I went inside, sat down and ordered one. It was different. Not something I would order again, but plenty of other diners (the regulars) where chowing down on them. I was, however, intrigued enough to order the ox tail ragout from the menu. The portion was smaller than I would have preferred because smaller ox tails are mostly bone, but it was tasty and an adequate portion, especially, if you are having a multi course meal which I wasn't but this was my second lunch of the day. I also had the Tiramisu. They have a different take on this desert from what I am accustomed to. It was tasty and a large portion. I had been eating at restaurants near my hotel over by the Vatican and the food there was universally mediocre to lousy and way, way over priced. What a delight it was to find a place where the food was decent and reasonably priced. This is not a tourist joint. This is the real deal Italian family run kind of restaurant that you want to find away from the tourist-catering areas. I was charmed by this place and the people that run it. They went out of their way to see that I enjoyed it there. Also, the folks there informed me that they have a small apartment for rent, four to six people, at 120 Euro a night according to their website. When the day comes that I go back to Rome, this is where I will stay. English is spoken (some).

Yelp
This restaurant was recommended by our hotel manager for good food and atmosphere. Great location near Vatican City on a well travelled street. Even though Dino and Toni did not speak English, they made us feel welcome and comfortable. Food was non stop from appetizer to bottle of Limoncello at the end of the meal. This is a restaurant that locals use for family and friends. We will return in 2020.

Monica P.

Yelp
Do not come here if you don't speak Italian, we had the worst experience in this place, we asked for a menu and they didn't give us one but brought the food they wanted, we told them to stop in Italian and English and they keep bringing food, and at the end they charged us 200 euros, worse place in Roma
google avatar

Yelp
One of the best if not the best restaurant in Rome. This place can be easily passed because of its outside appearance. Owners Dino and Toni make up for the outside with the energetic atmosphere they set. Full of life and entertaining hosts, they guided us into ordering a few things that we hesitated at first but turned out to be the right choice! Everything is simply amazing. The owners are very funny and will spontaneously sing. They even took a picture with us and gave the girls in our group items to take home! I am so glad we picked this spot

Yelp
After eating my way through Italy for the last two months, I can honestly say this was the worst Italian dining experience I've had (ever). I truly love Italian food, and love cooking Italian dishes myself, so I was looking forward to this place after reading the reviews. The proprietors are brusque, frantic comedians, but hardly seemed very welcoming or thoughtful. One of them was constantly scampering around like a wild man, more concerned about being the show of it all rather than delivering good food to the customers. Indeed, we was a funny guy, but I came for some delicious food. The pasta was sloppy. Some rigatoni box noodles topped with cold sauces. The appetizers were cold cuts and greasy hunks of blah, something like the cafeteria food you'd find in a nursing home. The house wine tasted like ancient vinegar with some tap water added. I can't say the service was bad as it just plain did not exist, at all. The place itself was dirty and the florescent lights inside are more nauseating than the food. This is not a good Roman restaurant. It is cut rate eatery that falls sloppily behind countless other fine establishments that offer well crafted, delicious fare in this amazing city. Go anywhere else.
google avatar

Liz F.

Yelp
By far the best restaurant in Rome. Dino and Tony are absolutely amazing human beings. The service is the Italian hospitality that you hope for but rarely actually experience. The food is incredible! Don't ask for a menu, just let Dino bring you food- everything will be amazing!!!
google avatar

Ger K.

Yelp
We found this spot in the Fodor's Guide. I expected it to be a little touristy being so close to the the Musei Vatican, but it was all locals dining there for lunch. Tony and Dino don't speak a word of English, but they really knew how to express themselves. These two welcomed everybody that came in for lunch like long lost friends. The atmosphere was loud with everyone yelling and talking over each other. We couldn't help but stare at them in fascination. We had the recommended antipasti which comprised some prosciutto and salame with assorted pizza slices. We tried the carciofi (artichoke) which actually tasted pretty good. It was baked in olive oil and the leaves were crispy. We also had 2 pasta dishes. The pasta with tomato and bacon; the noodles were just right, and I could taste the bacon blended with the sauce. The pasta with white sauce and bacon was creamy and counterbalanced the red sauce of the other dish.

Yelp
This by far is the most amazing restaurant that I've seen in Rome. The most authentic and legitimate pasta I have ever experienced! I highly recommend it to anyone. But keep in mind this is not a tourist spot. This is pure and authentic real Roman food. gonna go again soon!

Yelp
Usually when I eat, my primary concern is either sustenance or gastronomic pleasure. When those two things meet - I'm a pretty happy camper. What makes Da Dino e Toni so great is the addition of family charm to the dining experience on top of the really well prepared meal. So far as I can tell (the owners and staff don't seem to speak a lick of English so I'm guessing here), this place is run by two brothers and their respective families. When we sat, we weren't offered a menu at all - the younger of the two brothers just simply asked if we wanted to some antipasti. We nodded yes and the food just started to come out and we ate whatever they put in front of us. Everything was terrific including a mix of prosciutto and salami, a couple of small pizzas, fried olives and a fried artichoke. The artichoke was the highlight and a don't-miss if you come here during the season. They next asked us if we wanted some pasta. The antipasti was pretty plentiful so we agreed to a single plate. They brought back two - a carbonara dish and something we couldn't identify but it was awesome. Even though I had passed sated a half-hour earlier and I was actually coming up on uncomfortably full - I couldn't help myself from picking at my plate til the pasta was gone. Lastly, he asked us if we wanted dessert. We refused the dessert but some showed up with our bill anyway. Really glad that it did as it was some sort of frozen espresso. I asked for seconds. I suppose that some might feel uncomfortable in a place like this. Language barrier and some guy randomly bringing food - some of which we didn't order. It did occur to me that Da Dino e Toni was simply taking advantage of an obvious tourist (BTW, this place is located just around the corner from the Musei Vaticano entrance) and I feared it would show up on our bill. But in the end, lunch for four was just a little over €50 - one of the more reasonable meals we had all week. In the end, the family that runs this place are simply charming local Italians that enjoy having fun with tourists and run an outstanding eatery. Quick sidebar: Some of the reviews of Da Dine e Toni are for some other place. The actual restaurant does have a sign that says Da Dino e Toni right out front. The address on Yelp is correct but that map points you to a different intersection. The actual place is on the corner of Via Leone IV and Via Andrea Doria.

Yelp
Wonderful food, wonderful staff. We landed from London and got to Rome for lunch. Ate way more than we should, the amazing food just kept coming, it was amazing. We had to call a stop after the epic pasta barrage and never made it to secondi - we hadn't had time to enlarge our stomachs into Roman size (we should have prepared Homer style and pre-ate all day). The staff were just lovely. I want this restaurant to come home with me in my suitcase but we were flying EasyJet and they wouldn't let me carry it on. Highly recommended (bring an extra tummy).

Yelp
Disappointing. After all the fantastic reviews, I thought this restaurant would be a delight. When we arrived at 12:30 for lunch, it was completely empty, surprising considering the proximity to Vatican Museums but we prevailed. Unfortunately, it fell well below my expectations. Let me caveat this by saying that, like another reviewer, the restaurant did not have the name that is indicated on yelp but is at the exact same location (and is the only restaurant on this spot). The food was mediocre at best, akin to a food court fast food version of Italian that I would get at home. Portion sizes are much smaller than what I've seen elsewhere in Rome. To add insult to injury, they charge you for bread that you'd assume is complementary and then auto-grat themselves a 15% service fee. I don't have any issue tipping but find it interesting that this restaurant has this fee when we were a table of 2 at lunch and I've seen this no where else in Western Europe. There are much better places to dine in Rome, don't bother wasting your time here!
google avatar

Jon F.

Yelp
This was our favorite restaurant experience on our 12 day Italy trip. The family that owns it are amazingly friendly/fun and the food is really good. When we arrived at noon it was quiet but when we left at 2 it was loud and fun with tables of italians celebrating something or other :) They'll suggest what to order and just go with it. Share everything (e.g. so if there are 2 of you just get 1 appetizer) and get an appetizer, pasta and some meat or desert. I just told them I don't like fish. Also you'll need a carafe or two of wine.
google avatar

Eric L.

Yelp
Went here on the recommendation of a friend with the only instruction being "if they ask if you want something say 'si' ". They were super busy, but squeezed us in and from there it just got better. They brought us whatever their specialty courses were for the night, all the food was very good. Went through all the courses, dessert and even had a shot of limoncello with Dino. Friendly atmosphere, and even though we spoke almost no Italian we felt very welcomed just as if we were a local. If you're very particular about food, might not be your cup of tea, but if you're open to eating whatever the chef's nightly special is and are looking for a great fun local atmosphere then its a fantastic place.

Yelp
Such an authentic little Rome experience at this little Italian restaurant gem! My boyfriend and I are vegetarian so we went for the simple Spaghetti Arrabiata and Pizza. Tony and Dino are brothers and run this restaurant while singing, joking and giving each table a personal touch (we got some dessert wine!). A place to come back to and conveniently located close to Vatican.

Yelp
The best dinning experience ever.... Dino will bring what he wants you to eat, it will be terrific! Bring your appetite, it is a lot of food. Great local spot The entire staff is a blast, he made our Rome trip...

Poppy Z.

Yelp
If you are a local and knows what pasta you like, this place is reasonable. If you are a TOURIST, cant speak italian, unless you are a fan of Roman style OMAKASE, and you are not given any menu, the only words you are told when you sit down is "Appetizers" and then "pasta", followed by "Meat" in a aggressive style, giving you not much choice and most probably you are too polite to get out and decide to go with the "flow". For 2 people for lunch, we have anti pasta (i.e a plate of flat bread, dough, some cheese), two pastas (one with minced meat, and one is ciao pepe), two plate of meats (one with veal slices, and 4 meatballs with marinara sauce), desserts not of your choice (tiramisu, frozen coffee size and a plate of small broken bites, nuts, and cookie base with some jam), a bottle of water. Bill = 75 EUR Meanwhile, you see locals come and go, without doing the whole "omakase" and they probably paid less than 20 EUR for a plate of pasta and wine. Be your own judge. Pasta is decent, the rest... not that great.
google avatar

Alberto G.

Yelp
Do yourself a favor and go to this place. The food is amazing. Just have Dino bring you out whatever he recommends. The house wine is amazing as well. The antipasta is a must try and so is the pasta. It's what Italy is all about

Yelp
Plenty of food, drink (alcohol and otherwise), atmosphere, and italian friendship. We enjoyed our experience here and said "si" to everything. We left full and happy.

Yelp
Amazinng food and great staff. Went twice during our stay in rome. Recommend it all on menu. It was recommended by a friend who suggested we have staff just serve us and it was best decision. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Mike W.

Yelp
I'm probably going to lose credibility by going against the grain but this place ain't all that and I'm baffled by the high reviews. We ate here after reading an article somewhere online and rode the hype train only to be let off at a disappointed stop. This place has a prefix menu so we started with antipasto which consisted of some prosciutto, salami, fried olives, fried artichokes some kinda flat pizza concoction which was part eggplant and other part cheese. Then we had the pasta course which was 2 bowls each, one carbonara and the other some kinda red tomato sauce dish, the tomato sauce dish was actually pretty good but typical rigatoni with tomato sauce. After that we had this overly dry meat dish I couldn't finish and my partner had this fried fish platter. We topped it off with 4 desserts 2 pastries and this cheesecake thingy and a whip cream coffee drink... I will say the whip cream coffee drink was omg good. All this and 2 little pitchers of wine cost us 80 euros. I think this place is popular because of the brothers, they're pretty entertaining but as far as food is concerned , there are far better places.

Yelp
This is what happiness tastes like.... Great atmosphere, delicious food, much laughter, tasty wine, sinfully good desserts, all for a great price! I cannot recommend this restaurant enough! It's a tiny little hole in the wall place that will delight the senses and warm the heart!

Yelp
5 minutes walk from the Vatican Museums. The door to the restaurant is unimpressive. Just open it!! Enter. Be greeted and be seated. You MAY ask for a menu, but better NOT. Just go with the flow and you will enjoy excellent food combined with inimitable hospitality. From the starters to the complimentary after dinner drinks (if you behave well), it is a joy -- you are sad when you leave, unless you can return the following day. The best of Roman cooking, the better-than-best experience. Smile and be cheerful. You won't be able to help it. A memory of Rome that you did not expect, and that you will cherish.

Yelp
An average diner with some highlights. Perhaps this is a typical Roman trattoria, but i was not impressed. There were many Romans here but the service was perfunctory and the food average. The "typical" fried antipasti were odd and not great. And the pizza with green beans was strange. The pasta carbonara was under cooked while the carbonara was overcooked. The maialino was perhaps the only outstanding part of the meal. The house white was horrible and the bottle of rosso di montalcino was undrinkable because it was too hot. We had to ash for Ice to cool it down enough to drink. I would not recommend this restaurant nor would i return.

Yelp
For authentic- this is as good as it gets. We went for lunch after out morning Vatican tour and were immediately made to feel welcome, even though Dino and tony were still having their lunch! We speak zero italian, and had no idea what we were getting or how much it cost. We did learn "uno for due" which is what you want to know when you eat here. 1 meal for two people. Eat everything they offer, but share. That is the best advice I can give. The food is phenomenal, especially if you wash it down with the wine. For dessert don't miss out on the Marsala to drink. They bring you a whole bottle and get very upset if you don't attempt to finish it. Really an awesome place to eat in Rome. Oh and by the way- we were there for 2 hours, are and drank to our hearts contention, and the bill came to under 50€.

Yelp
June 2018 A Week in Rome to Celebrate Our Wedding Anniversary Booked ahead (a necessity) Beautiful Waitress got Us a Table near the Door as the Weather was Hot even late at night. A real Family Affair Toni & Dino are Brothers their Children are the Staff. We decided to allow the Staff to choose typical Roman Food We selected House Red which was excellent Guancalle Pasta lovely (cured pigs cheek) another pasta dish a decent Antipasti Frito Misto & a Huge Pork Chop were terrific. A rest was called for then Great Coffee a platter of pastries a Brilliant Custard dessert Grappa Limoncello followed We chatted to other English speaking Diners & had an interpreted chat with the Proud Proprietors. Packed with Italians not a gimmicky Tourist trap. We found the Evening flew by in a Glorious Warm delight. Four Hours of Noisy Good Company Authentic Roman Food. The Bill was most reasonable Wife & I could find no fault with a deservedly thriving Family Business.

Yelp
The best authentic restaurant in Rome. Waiters singing, while running around serving the best Italien meal i've ever tasted :). Me and My family is looking forward to come back....

Yelp
This was a great "local" experience. Off the beaten tourist path, yet only 3-4 blocks from an entrance to the Vatican. If you were just strolling, you might pass this one by & you'd be making a big mistake. Frequented by locals, no menu offered, and the food was outstanding! Upon being seated, we were asked, "red or white?" We were then served an appetizer, then a first course of delicious pasta-of-the-day, & finally were asked which would we like for second course, "meat or fish?" No further explanation & none needed. The food was wonderful, and dessert simply delicious as well. Topped off w/ an offering of something called "Zibibbo" from Sicily, an after-dinner digestive. Our only complaint was that we couldn't "name" what we were eating other than to say it was delicious. We had the "Menu a prezzo concordato," and it was what an adventure from the start. This was a 2-hour lunch experience to remember & was well worth the effort to find it. While not a "first class" restaurant by any stretch, I would seek out this restaurant again if in Rome.

Yelp
The most incredible meal I have ever had in my life! 3-4 hours of eating the most flavorful, delicious, epically Italian food there is! It's worth every penny! You walk in, and are greeted by Dino or Tony, there are no menus, they just bring you food. It's the most worthwhile experience you can have while in Rome. The Pantheon is a close second. haha. They speak only Italian, but when the language for the love of food is universal with "MMMMMmmmm's" and "Oh My God!"'s, it's totally understood by everyone and anyone! I recommend all my friends traveling to Rome to go here. INCREDIBLE!!!! Mangia!

Yelp
Well this was quite the unexpected experience!!! Started with a warm prego, prego from Toni....finished w/Lemoncello(s) from Dino. Never saw a menu, never even took a picture of an entree, the 4 of us were engulfed with the experience and the hospitality. We chose this local based upon both the Yelp reviews (Rome is just catching on w/Yelp, most restaurants have only a few reviews, this was almost an order of magnitude (well half for certain), coupled with our hotel owners Recco...a good bet and we were certainly not disappointed. It got to the point were we had to say 'uncle', it just kept coming...even then dessert and Aperitifs followed, all for a very reasonable bill...molto grazie!!! (To my fellow Yelper Rich S....add this baby to your must do's. . Goodnight!!!
