Alamo Hostel is exceptional. Returning here since my first visit six years ago has felt like returning home. The property itself is beautiful and well-maintained, and the owner’s daily presence is evidence of his commitment to creating a good experience for guests. There is 24-hour attention at the reception desk, and the people who staff it are invariably friendly and helpful. The cleaning staff is equally friendly and attentive. A tasty breakfast in a welcoming setting makes a great start to the day. There are ample opportunities for socializing with both Argentinian and international guests during the day, but at night quiet hours allow for a sound sleep. Unlike many exclusively youth-oriented party hostels, Alamo has young and old guests, and families and couples in addition to people traveling alone. The danger is that you won’t want to leave. Both times I have come, I have extended my stay.

Super comfortable stay. We had a garden room the first few nights and the bed was huge and comfortable. The only issue was the lack of window in the bathroom so we always had to open our room door after a shower to ventilate. Our second room was in the main building, another comfortable bed and a bathroom window which was better! Staff were super helpful and gave good advice. Breakfast was basic but did the job.

We stayed in a private room for 5 nights. Our room was clean, big and cozy, beds and pillows are very comfortable. Staff is very nice and speaks English. Especially Max was very helpful with us to arrange all sorts of activities and had recommendations for us. Hostel itself is also beautiful with a very cute garden. Would definitely recommend to anyone who plans to visit Mendoza.

Stayed here for three nights while visiting Mendoza, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our room was big and warm, with plugs and lamps for both of us. Hot water in the shower. Drinkable water right from the kitchen tap. Breakfast was continental but appreciated. Nico was incredibly helpful and gave us dinner spot recommendations that were seriously on point. Everyone went out of their way to be helpful. Highly recommend.

An old, spacious villa turned into a charming hostel for over 19 years. Great service, English-speaking crew, alternative playlist and peaceful courtyard. Perfect location in a quiet street, just around the corner from Plaza Chile. Highly recommended! Thanks Max & team!

Everything you can want from a hostel. We shared a double room which was clean, and comfy and had a bathroom inside. It also had space heaters which were great for the chilly nights. The location is superb with a Carrefour supermarket around the corner. There was a kitchen available to cook your own meals. The front desk staff were super helpful with advice, tour options, and restaurant suggestions. They also took our laundry and returned it to us the next day which was very convenient. I would definitely stay here again on our next trip to Mendoza.

It's really not bad. Dorms were spacious enough, lockers were failry large. The upper part of the buk beds were a bit lower than most, so don't sit up too fast! There is lots of common space, indoors, on the patio, or the gardened back yard. Breakfast was a bit on the skimpy side, but included in the price. There is a supermarket across the street, and public squares are just a few minute's walk. Shopping streets and the market are also within walking distance. The kitchen is mostly in good shape, but for some reason the pots, pans, cutlery etc were a bit of a mess. Beer and soft drinks were available at reasonable prices. The wifi was sometimes ok, sometimes not. Bathrooms were solid- I liked how the showers had a raised 'curb' which kept the water inside. Why don't more places have these? Anyhow, aside from the nice back yard, the Alamo is not the most exciting hostel I've stayed at but it's clean, safe, and well located. If all you need is a place to eat, sleep, and relax the Alamo should suit you fine.

Location: 30 minute walk from the bus station or a 60 peso ($3) taxi. Can walk to the central plaza in less than 5 minutes.||Atmosphere: the best hostel we’ve stayed in Argentina. The owner of the hostel is constantly offering wine and home cooked food. He even laid a BBQ on one night. They have a great chill out area with a guitar.||Staff: The staff are very helpful and speak good English. They have all the tours available to book from the hostel as well as their own personal recommendations (restaurants, bars etc).||Amenities: The kitchen is small but clean and they have an oven and gas hobs. Beds were comfortable and made every day. Showers were warm and plenty of them. Nice outdoor seating area. WIFI not great but manageable to book things from.
