Hostel Alvear

Stuff was very friendly, location is super good. Close to any place in city center and to the bus station. Has great terrace, a lot of places to work on your computer. The negative things would be, it felt a little bit like a party hostel, and also kitchen was always packed with people.

The place has a great location, is kept reasonably clean all day long, and has a couple of very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms and facilities are about average. What ruined the experience a bit was the constant unnecessary noise almost around the clock, weirdly and mostly caused by the numerous volunteers and long time residence there, with permanent talking, yelling, singing, music playing, excessive noisy cooking at all times of the day and night, showering in the middle of the night, loud working activities at unusual times and God knows what else. I have stayed in countless hostels over the last months, and am well aware that it can be noisy at times. But the noise here is simply senseless and unnecessary, and could be resolved with some clearer rules, some more care and respect for others by everyone staying there.

Absolutely loved this hostel. Planned to only stay in Cordoba two days and ended up here almost a week. Super comfy beds with air conditioned rooms, the volunteers are amazing, and it is a great environment to meet people. They host night walking tours that take you to a language exchange that I 100% recommend. We also had a pizza night and a fun day trip to a nearby river. A bonus is that the beers on tap are delicious!

I recently stayed at Hostel Alvear and I highly recommend it! The service was absolutely excellent. When I felt sick during my stay, the staff went above and beyond to help me. They not only provided a comfortable environment but also assisted me in getting in contact with a doctor, which made a stressful situation much easier to handle. Their kindness and support truly made a difference in my experience. If you're looking for a place with great service and caring staff, this is the hostel for you!

Had a great stay at this hostel! Booked a private room with shared bathroom. Everything was clean and the room was very spacious. The common areas are great and really enjoyed hanging out at the rooftop terrace. Right in the centre and walking distance to pretty much everything. Never felt unsafe walking in the area. The service was fantastic - the people are very knowledgeable and provided great recommendations for restaurants/cafes etc. We had a 5 hour layover in Cordoba about a week after our stay and they let us store our luggage at the hostel and use the facilities for free. Very helpful and kind - highly recommend this hostel!

Great place with excellent facilities and fantastic staff! Special shout out to Luis who made my stay exceptional with his helpful attitude and local knowledge. Highly recommend!

Very nice place, very close to the bus station. Lovely facilities with a lot of outdoor space to chill and socialise. Very cheap wine at the reception as well The receptionist didnt seem to know anything about the city though, but the other volunteers were amazing and welcoming. Big shout out to manu and Cami🙏🏽

I had a great time at Hostel Alvear! The staff was incredible - they were helpful, and approachable. One night I hung out with several of the staff on the balcony and enjoyed the night via a great conversation. Shout out to Luis, he helped coordinate excursions and was accommodating to my schedule, given that I came into town very early and booked the wrong date. Overall, this is a must stay.
