Great Hostel at Lindenauer Markt! Authentic, creative, and the owner is friendly and helpful. Not your boring, cookie cutter hostel, but a cozy and colorful house with a sweet garden, fantastic kitchen, and comfortable rooms. Would recommend staying here!

Olivia is a very trustworthy and welcoming owner. As a non-profit association in the field of art and culture, we have been working with her since 2017 and are very satisfied with the hostel, which has also been confirmed by the positive feedback of over 100 artists and guests at our events over the years. The hostel definitely has its unique charm and is in a great location with good public transport connections.

Love this place! I've been returning to Hostel Blauer Stern several times, whenever I've been visiting Leipzig. It's very cozy, stylish, clean and super friendly. I've always slept here very well and enjoyed the atmosphere. Very much recommended!

This was a lovely place to spend some relaxing time in a great location. The hostel is designed with care and attention to detail, and is styled with many authentic DDR period style furnishings, it's not tacky, it's very tasteful and we really liked it. ||||The hostel features spacious common areas to sit and relax in and a proper kitchen. Our bedroom (red room) was comfortable and cosy and a good size. The bathrooms were just across the hall and were always extremely clean and the showers very nice.||||The outdoor courtyard is really a nice place to hang out if the weather is warm. ||||The hostel owner Olivia is very welcoming and relaxed and the young man who welcomed us on arrival was also very friendly and helpful.||||I would love to give the hostel 5 stars but it really was very quiet, as a couple we had each others company and we met up with friends too so we didn't really mind, but we hardly met anyone else in our 4 nights stay - if you are by yourself and want to meet folks you might struggle. ||||The other thing, was that it was difficult to sleep with the noise of the trams/road/market place right outside our room. I don't mind the sounds of the city and I use ear plugs anyway but this was seriously loud even for me! Staying in a front bedroom, you get the atmosphere of the local area, but there was definitely a trade off. ||||But overall a great place to stay, we'd definitely stay there again, and I recommend more people should visit Leipzig and stay at Hostel Blauer Stern!

Me and my friend were struck by a Wes Anderson vibe as we checked in to Blauer Stern, the place just makes you associate for some reason. It wasn't crowded at all at our time of visiting, and I agree with other reviewers sentiment that this is not a party hostel (although the courtyard is very nice in summer), we only really met another group on our last day there out of three. It is indeed located in an area of town with many great bars and cafés, and it's well connected via the tram. ||I think it'd be nice if they accepted cards for payment, but this wasn't much of a problem either - the hostess was very flexible and easy to deal with. I would definitely recommend this place if you're looking for a nice place to stay in the west of Leipzig!

This is not a party hostel, or even a hostel where you'll meet lots of foreigners to exchange travel stories or whatnot. It's a very clean, quiet and unassuming hostel, in a quiet area of Leipzig. The location is great for hipsters, as it's close to the Plagwitz area, but about 6 tram stops away from the old town. They only accept cash (no card services, which is very East German I honestly don't understand why Germans don't want to leave the cash economy behind and join the rest of the world into the 21st century), but other than that, it's a great place and I highly recommend it.

This rather small hostel is located a bit outside the city center of Leipzig.||||It is conveniently located close to a tram stop, several shops and in walming distance of a nice park and several bars and restaurants.||||The hostel geatures a beautiful courtyard abd a big common area.||||The rooms are clean but a bit oldish. The bathrooms are new though. Value for money is great.||||

Lovely hostess who runs and owns the place. Just next to the tram which brings you to the city center in about 10-15 minutes. Would definitely come back. Best value for money. A huge living for use as a bonus.
