Well Hostel Celica used to be a military prison, and each cell has been transformed into a small bedroom. Once home to murderers and prisoners, you can now sleep there, but also listen to live music, eat and drink at its café, as well as view artwork from local artists there. Not everyone will have the same experience here ; each room has been designed by a different international artist, and a day here is never the same.

I wish there was a way to leave more than 5 stars. Absolutely perfect. The hostel is big and beautiful. They upgraded me for free, and the room was gorgeous. The bed was comfortable, and the constant reminder to save energy was great. The breakfast was perfect. It was an all you can eat, not something usual for hostels. They allowed me to chill there after checkout till my bus.

Clean, good service, nice vibe, great atmosphere, and have events that provide opportunities to socialise. However, about the sleeping experience: The space between the bed and the pitched roof was very little that I hit it couple of times with my leg when asleep, it woke me up. Getting into bed was not very smooth too

I had a great 2 night stay here. I will give an honest review of different aspects of the hostel. ||Location: Great location. Short 10/15 minute walk in to Ljubljana / the castle. Supermarkets also located near by. |Bus / Train station also only a 5/10 minute walk where you can catch the bus to Bled.||Staff: Staff were very friendly and helpful at check in. Can’t complain. ||Cleanliness: The hostel was very clean and well maintained. No complaints. ||Room: I stayed in a single cell, which I liked as I had been in shared dorms throughout my travels so this was a nice change. Bed very comfortable and sockets/lights at the bed. Very cool room with lots of space. ||Social aspect: I didn’t find there to be much promotion of social activities, which is fine for my but may not be ideal for many solo travellers, possibly it gets busier in the summer and this changes. ||Food: Breakfast was included during my stay. I had some coffee/fruit in the morning. Selection of bread/cheese/ham/cereals also available. ||- there is also a common kitchen area where you can make your own meals, this area is quite small.|- good spacious, and hot showers available.

My husband and I had a great stay at hostel celica. The room was small, but unique with our beds up in a loft. The facility was clean, and had a cafe on the ground floor. The breakfast had a nice spread. The hostel was easily walkable to museums and the castle.

Hostel Celica was a very welcoming hostel. The workers were very kind and willing to answer my questions. The room I stayed in had a top bunk with a closet and desk underneath, but it appeared that most rooms had beds that were not bunked. There were only two beds in the room I stayed in, which made it peaceful. However, the side of the building I stayed on is right next to a place where people hang out and have shows in the evenings, which makes it quite loud. I stayed Saturday-Wednesday and while it was very loud the nights of Saturday, Sunday, and Wednesday, Monday and Tuesday night were quiet. The bathrooms were nice, but could be cleaned more often. I would stay here again.

We loved our stay here. Close to the station, but also walking distance to the city centre. Very walkable city as well. The room was a bit awkward in the layout, but okay. Looked like every room was different so i guess it is just whatever room you get. Good breakfast. Overall, lovely stay here!

In the last 4 years I have been in about 10 hostels in Europe. This the best to date. The concept is unique (former prision), it has been well renovated, it’s clean, comfortable and the breakfast is tastey with inside and outside seating. The staff are also super friendly and the place has a nice buzz, with a bar/coffee shop inside. It’s also a quick walk to the train and bus station .

Loved this hostel. The staff is really friendly and helpful, the hostel is hip and clean. The breakfast buffet is really good. Short walk to the city centre. Recommend stay.
