"I found Chapter Two to be a small, family-run hostel near Skytree Station in Asakusa with a real social feel thanks to a shared kitchen and common room; the dorms are modern, immaculate, and well equipped, and you can book a deluxe pod that offers a partitioned-off bed with partial walls and a privacy curtain as an alternative to open-concept bunks. It also caters to digital nomads with a co-working space and has a rooftop patio for relaxing and mingling, though be aware they sometimes enforce two-night minimums." - Matthew Kepnes
The Ultimate Japan Itinerary for 2025: From 1 to 3 Weeks
"I stayed at Hostel Chapter Two, a small family-run hostel near Skytree Station in Asakusa; I liked the shared kitchen and common room because they create a genuinely social atmosphere." - Matthew Kepnes
The hostel is located conveniently close to Asakusa Station but is also in a quiet lane so it’s peaceful with a wonderful view of the river. Some of the spaces are a bit too cramped and having huge suitcases can be an issue but they do have a luggage storage area.
Overall the hostel has a gods atmosphere with a helpful staff!

This was my first stay in Japan. It was a great place to land! It was quiet and clean, which was really nice for getting away from the big energy of the city. The sleeping rooms are air-conditioned. The place is owned by a couple and isn’t too big, so it has a more homey feel— Erica is amazing and so kind!!
There’s the option to get breakfast at an additional fee and there is always tea available. I loved the location, right by the water.

Staying in Tokyo for a week, I found this Gem, close to things to see and trainstations. Friendly staff who can give you great tips on things to discover, some not on tourist menu, nice Rooftop with view of Sumidariver and interesting cozy Underground Livingroom, watch your head if you are tall, I will defenitly stay here again when I come to Tokyo.

Hostel is not too big, but is very social and has a nice communal area in the old garage. Staff is great, especially Erika, I love you!
Dormitories with good privacy, everything super clean, great simple breakfast for 500 yen.
Location is extremely good in Asakusa, next to the river and 200m from metro Asakusa station.
Highly recommended

My first real experience in a hostel. I met some good people in the chapter two hotel and really enjoyed it. Feeling like staying in friends' home.
