NOTE: they don't let you stay there after 3pm even if you were a guest the night before. I checked out if my room at 10am, and asked to leave my luggage for the day, I was told yes, no problem. I came back in the evening to get my bag and to hang out at the hostel for a bit as I was taking an evening bus to leave the city. While sitting in the common area I was informed that I could not stay there if I was not staying at the hostel for the evening. I've never encountered this before and I travel a lot. Pro: -The one receptionist I dealt with during the day was very friendly - lockers in room - shelf and light at bed Cons: - Beds are old, so there are big dips in them. - pillow is extremely lumpy - room had a smell to it - sheet they give to put over the mattress does not fit the mattress - wifi does not reach the bedroom - the one shower I tried to use did not have any hot water Accessibility: there is no lift, it is up 4 flights of stairs

Pros: Decently clean, well located (near to many tourist attractions and 15 min from the central train station), the private toilets, showers, and full bathrooms are a huge plus. They have locks on the lockers as well as on the dormitory rooms. Building also feels safe, with 24h reception, and the neighborhood is neat, with many restaurants in a variety of price ranges. Cons: The sheets (which you have to put on yourself) don’t exactly cover the whole mattress. Little privacy in the lower bunks, none at all on the upper bunks. The lockers, while locking, are a tight fit for even a standard backpacking bag (I think mine is 30L). The bathrooms, despite being perfectly clean, have a sewer smell. Maybe it’s a summertime problem. And one side of the building is facing a construction site where work begins at 6:00am, so bring earplugs! Neutrals: Bed comfort, kitchen and common area all nice but not special. Some staff are very nice, others less, but no one rude. Doesn’t seem to be an especially social hostel, which was fine for us.

I had a very disappointing experience at this hostel. It’s on the 4th floor with no elevator, which was a hassle with luggage. The receptionist was rude and even refused to let me see the room before checking in. There’s no AC, and it was incredibly hot inside. On top of that, they require a cash-only deposit for the keys, which I didn’t have since I arrived late at night. You also have to rent towels and other basics. I ended up not staying despite having a booking. Definitely wouldn’t recommend.

The hostel is in an old building without an elevator, you have to carry your suitcases up the stairs. Small rooms with bunk beds. If a party is held in the next room, the reception cannot hear or see it, so it is not possible to sleep. When asked what the name of the employee at the reception is, the answer is: "I shouldn't answer!" All the furniture is very old and shabby, the floors creak. Yellow bed linen, children's pillow size, towels for a separate fee. All the dishes are old and a little battere

The room was decent, but the bed was a pain for my back and there were almost no space in the lockers. Also, there was a constant bad smell around the bathrooms, which were pretty decent. The location is perfect, near the center and in the heart of a cool neigbourhood.

I hate leaving bad reviews but the Manager stole from me. Yes that is correct theft. I am going through the process now with the police and complaining to government agencies about this place. After arriving on a very hot day in Summer, after a long flight. I just wanted to put my bags down and rest. I had four days booked. I get to reception, I waited for the people couple in front of me to be served. After which around 10 people came in after me. The receptionist literally served every single person that arrived after me, before. I waited an extra 20 plus minutes after arriving. I said to the receptionist, I will stay the night but due to the lack of service and discrimination because I am a South American Jew. I would like my money back for the two nights I will not be staying. He refused and told me to call management. I left the hostel the next day. After a week of waiting the Manager got back to me. Refused to refund me for the nights I did not stay and did not apologise for the anti-semetic behaviour. I said I just want my money for the nights I did not stay. I am happy to pay for the night I stayed. Please return my money. I cannot stay in a place like this. My Grandmother who was actually born in Poland and Killed in Poland for being Jewish. I did not think I would be rewarded coming to Poland for a historical trip by such disgusting behaviour from this hoste. Shame on you, shame on you.

Chillout Hostel was originally a very good place to stay. We had a double private room with a shared bathroom which was great, the staff were extremely friendly and the common area and fully equipped kitchen was excellent. We were told after our second night we would have to have a room change with an upgrade due to renovations. When it came to that morning there had been an emergency in the new room and they had nowhere for us to stay. We were lucky to find another hostel nearby that still had 2 beds available cause if not we would have been screwed. When we checked out we were given a single lollipop. But at least they have said we will get our money back and we have the receipt that’s it’s being sent. The girl at reception who had to break the news to us was very kind though and apologetic. I hope this was a one time unfortunate thing and not something that happens often cause the stress it has caused us has really put a dampener on our time in Warsaw

Yelp
Booked via booking website and seemed good value for the money. Be advised that the refund policy is a catch 22. One asked the other to proceed with the claim. The rooms are clean due to the fact of having been recently refurbished. But even with double pane windows it is and stays noisy. More so if your neighbor slams the doors or speaks a little louder. One thing not mentioned in the policy was the deposit for the key (actually a badge in my case). In the end they didn't claim it more than that. Maybe just another try of ripoff. Just guessing though. The hood is hip with lots of restaurants and bars open late night. So maybe it's worth paying a bit more but staying in a real hotel with a breakfast included. The choice is the customers to get ripped off or not. Cheers

Yelp
I really liked the hostel, staff, facilities, breakfast, bathrooms, the only problem was that I have requested bottom bunk and they've confirmed, yet still I've got the top bunk, which I hate. Their response was that 'no one of staff has mentioned that in your booking.' Seems unprofessional.
