Hostel Chocolatchê

Nice rooms and location but lacking atmosphere. Expensive. Great breakfast but after being pointed out the kitchen when being shown around the hostel and going to buy groceries to cook, I was told I couldn't use the kitchen. I wasted a lot of money on food as a result as this was definitely not clear. Gramado is a very expensive place so it's a real shame you can't use the kitchen.

I was in the Hostel Chocolatche for 2 nights during January 2017 and I must say it was excellent. Its cleanliness and breakfast makes it even better. You can stay there for a really cheap price, and the staff is really good. At the same time, it's really close to almost everything, so you'll find it really easy to move around, as Gramado has lots of things to do, even considering it's a really small town. What I'd like to emphazise the most is the warmth with which its staff treats you, always bearing a smile on their face and ready to solve any problem you have. I would gladly come back, without any question!!

I felt at home. There are many showers and restrooms and the beds are good! The location couldnt be better. They offer a great breakfast (included) and the tea bar with cookies and fruits is always available! Towels are included!! The owner is always there to take care of you and share great moments! Stay here when in Gramado or in the Serra Gaucha, the mountains of Rio Grande do Sul state!

Had the most lovely time! The hostel lies in the city centre, which is very convenient. Friendly staff members are disposable around the clock to help wherever they can. The rooms are very comfortable which helps to create a relaxed and familiar atmosphere. The owner (who is just such an adorable and kind person) makes breakfast herself, which is extraordinarily delicious. I can only highly recommend this place, especially if you like to get to know new people in a casual atmosphere! Kann ich nur wärmstens weiter empfehlen!

Welcome to Gramado, a city in southern Brazil well known for its "White Christmas", with beautiful decoration on the streets and delicious chocolate from dozens of different local brands.|In this vibrant touristic city, you can easily choose Hostel Chocolatchê as your place to stay. It's name is derived from a playful mixture of chocolate and tchê (a local way to call "dude")|It is administered by Raquel, a hard working and particularly charming young lady, always helpful and pleased to meet different people.|In this hostel, you can choose from private and family rooms (on the first and second floors), or a place in the huge mixed room on the third floor. |Everything is brand new and the bathrooms are in perfect conditions.|On the third floor you will also find a huge living room and the beautiful vintage kitchen. |I will go as far to say that Raquel is a chocolate expert and will start chocolate making courses pretty soon.|The Hostel in located in the heart of the city centre, which is beyond any description as the best. |Unfortunately, there is no parking lot, as this is the Main Street in town, but you can easily park anywhere and just get to know the city on foot.|By the way, breakfast is great. Hostel Chocolatche is a gorgeous hostel. Attached to an old church, it fits the Gramado vibe very well. The owner, Raquel, was super friendly to all of her guests. Always offering food and making an awesome breakfast each day. Price was great. Do yourself a favor and stay here.
