Unfortunately, this is one of only 2 hostels in town and neither one are very good options. This one is over USD $18 for the dorm and it's a very, very small room. There are four beds to the tiny room and you can reach across and touch your neighbor across the floor in between! When I was there I was the only guest, but I imagine this gets a little too cozy pretty fast. Also there is only one electrical outlet in the dorm I stayed in (Yellow Room 2). The wifi only works in the reception, but there is not much room there either. No breakfast, no outdoor seating area. It is pretty bleak. That being said the beds are pretty new and comfortable and the hostel is reasonably clean. There are maintenance problems, however, such as the toilet seat in the womans bathroom is broken in half. Comfy! I also did not find the staff particularly friendly or helpful either and would skip Piriapolis next time - there is really not much to see - or stop there for lunch. It was not worth the price of the room and the lack of comfort. Oh, and the other option in town is across the street - they don't have dorms and are even more expensive. Take my advice, day trip to this city. It's pretty but not as lovely as some of the other beaches!

The hostel was expensive (20 USD per night), not very clean, no breakfast, had limited access to power outlets, and terrible showers (low water pressure/smelled bad, hot though). On the bright side there were locks on the doors, good wifi, and free water and towels. Plus, it was two blocks from a grocery store, three from the beach, and there was a late night pizza place next door.

This place was dead on my visit. So much that I had the whole dorm room to myself. Location is great, WiFi decent, just no atmosphere at all. Probably would be different in the main season. If you’re looking for a more social place, this probably isn’t the best choice.
