A valid place to spend several nights. I liked a lot the location: in a calm rather green area from where one can easily reach any interesting place. The staff is nice; rooms and showers are relatively clean, but rather functional and very simple. The check-in was long, people were waiting for 30 minutes. The building has 4 floors, but no elevator.

😊: The location of the hostel was perfect for exploring Ljubljana while also being close to the bus/train station. The rooms and bathrooms were both very clean. There were many showers, we never had to wait to use the bathroom or shower in the shared bathroom! The rooms are spacious and have lots of storage. For the price I think this hostel is pretty well worth it if you’re looking to have a more calm, quieter stay in Slovenia.. 😢: The breakfast here was pretty bad, we ended up trying it once and did not go back again for it during our stay. Whatever you do, don’t try the coffee lol 😅 The beds could have been comfier and the staff was a bit unprofessional with other guests and with check-in in general..

Hostel DIC is a 5 star hostel! If you are looking for a five star hotel then please move on but be prepared to pay 2-3 times as much. I generally do not like the idea of a hostel, as I generally picture common spaces that are not well maintained, questionable cleanliness etc. But at Hostel DIC (Pronounced "Deetz") you need to imagine the best possible scenario in a hostel: everything appointed in white and very clean; well-maintained common bathrooms, common kitchen and private locking rooms; and a great buffet breakfast! We will DEFINITELY stay here again!

😊: Quite a big room, a big wadrobe to compartmentalize all your stuff, good and varied breakfast, reception 24/7. 😢: The blinds let some light pass so you wake up with the sun, the plug directly attached to the bed, while useful, during the night might be dangerous and at risk of breaking, at night there isn't much artificial light around the hostel so it's quite dark to get back..

On the fifth day, my fan broke down. I went to the front desk for an extra fan for five consecutive days, but they told me they didn't have any. However, on the evening, while I was going downstairs, I noticed other guests taking fans from the front desk to go upstairs, and I also found two other idle fans. I went to the front desk to ask for one, and they told me that all our fans were in use and couldn't be given out. They offered to refund my money. Finally, after my insistence, they gave me a fan, and upon learning about the time I had stayed, they even told me that I had stayed too long.

Although clean there was no air con and r the room was hot. ||There are posters everywhere about saving water but they don’t give you a washing up bowl. The sponges left to wash pots with I wouldn’t use on a stray dog. Absolutely filthy! ||Kitchen very poorly equipped. The worst I’ve been to. ||There are posters around regarding going plant based for diet. However, they would not get in soya milk. Meat and cheese for breakfast. ||Vegans avoid!

The hostel was nice and relatively clean. Staff was friendly and breakfast was good! The biggest downside was the mattresses: they were old, you could feel the springs on your back when you slept, and there was menstrual blood on mine :(

This is a residence for students that has been transformed into hostel. You can have an individual room for an affordable price, 10m away from the old town and with breakfast! The attention in the reception is great and it is well connected with public transportation. There’s also possibility to store luggage in case you need to travel around. Some disadvantages: no elevator; rooms are no soundproof, so you can hear people leaving early in the morning (normally the hostel is used for short-term stays); there are no dustbins in the room and as in every hostel you should bring your own toiletries. But towels and linen are provided, and there’s soap in the bathrooms. The kitchens in each floor are well equipped (kind of tricky how to turn on the electric stove), in some of them you even have an electric kettle. No microwave. The breakfast is quite simple, but fair for the price. A big challenge was the internet connection, which they told me, have been recently affected by the floods. But depending on the timing and place you can manage to work it out. Some mosquitos in the night (no net in windows), so in summer perhaps you should bring repellent. In the dining room you can take potable water.
