Hostel Dioskouros - Hostel

The staff at the hostel were very kind and helpful, and they took care of all our requests. The location is great, close to Plaka and many main attractions. However, the bathrooms could be better organized, and the rooms could be more comfortable. A renovation of the overall structure would also improve the experience.

This is a lovely place to stay in the heart of Plaka. Clean room, sharing with 3 ladies, good service, reception open all the time with very friendly people. I will go back there.

I stayed at this hostel and found it to be a great value for the price. I also enjoyed breakfast—it’s better to be early so you have more choices. The staff were friendly and even let me check in early at no extra fee. Although the interior isn’t very new, it remains clean. The hostel is very close to many attractions, like the Acropolis Museum. I wasn’t a fan of having only one bathroom with two toilets for a few rooms, but it wasn’t a problem since it wasn’t busy. Overall, it’s safe and quiet.

The perfect place for groups who would like a location at the historical center, resting time in the evenings at the beautiful backyard and a peaceful quiet sleep, at the foothills of Acropolis.

Booked monhts in advance for a room in june. Contacted me two weeks in advance to tell me the room is overbooked because there was an issue in their system. Mind you, I already paid a deposit fee through the app I booked with (hostelworld). I chose the no cancellation option when i booked and now there is a chance I will be charged for the cancellation because of a mistake of the hotel. I’ve read other reviews in this section and there are many other clients who went through the same situation in the last months. Seems a bit weird that this type of situation happens this often. And why are they contacting me last minute when i booked in the beginning of april. It is now june…

Cons: no free soap and shampoo. The bed cover (brown color in the pic) is very smelly! I guess they never change it. The covers and pillow case are clean but the pillows itself are very smelly too, smells like a sweaty person has been using it. Even though the covers are clean, it doesn't cover the smell of the pillow. It's a bit gross to be honest. Its hard if you carry a luggage because they have no lift. Pros: free breakfast, cleanliness in the room is ok, close to plaka, metro and bus station.

Location was perfect. It is located close to t Plaka and the acropolis. If you are looking just for sleep I recommend it. It's a little noisy at night because the structure

Lovely little place in the heart of Athens.. I booked really late on the evening, but the host was really accommodating. she even helped me plan my next days trip to Delphi. Self service breakfast was included in the extremely low price.. at the end of a few weeks traveling money is tight and this was such a lucky find 🙌
