Hostel Dioskouros - Hostel

I had to check out after one night of a four-night booking due to a theft. I arrived on Saturday and (regrettably) left some cash in my suitcase. I went out the following morning and returned in the early afternoon to find my suitcase unzipped and the cash missing. No one else had been staying in the room after I left, and my luggage was the only one present. Staff later told me that someone had briefly checked into the room (without luggage) and left while I was out. I can’t determine what actually happened, but the situation left me feeling unsafe. To their credit, the staff did try to help by calling a taxi to a police station and offering me a private room. However, after the incident, I chose to move elsewhere for my own peace of mind. I can’t pass judgment, but I strongly recommend being very careful with your belongings if you choose to stay here. Athens is a beautiful city, but it’s important to stay vigilant both while out and with what you leave in your room.

Great little hostel in a fantastic location. Close to everything you could want by foot. Clean, straightforward, towels provided, nice breakfast every morning with good variety and fresh stuff. Friendly staff. Rooms are barebones, of course, but it's a hostel. I'd stay there again!

The staff at the hostel were very kind and helpful, and they took care of all our requests. The location is great, close to Plaka and many main attractions. However, the bathrooms could be better organized, and the rooms could be more comfortable. A renovation of the overall structure would also improve the experience.

I stayed at this hostel and found it to be a great value for the price. I also enjoyed breakfast—it’s better to be early so you have more choices. The staff were friendly and even let me check in early at no extra fee. Although the interior isn’t very new, it remains clean. The hostel is very close to many attractions, like the Acropolis Museum. I wasn’t a fan of having only one bathroom with two toilets for a few rooms, but it wasn’t a problem since it wasn’t busy. Overall, it’s safe and quiet.

The perfect place for groups who would like a location at the historical center, resting time in the evenings at the beautiful backyard and a peaceful quiet sleep, at the foothills of Acropolis.

This is a lovely place to stay in the heart of Plaka. Clean room, sharing with 3 ladies, good service, reception open all the time with very friendly people. I will go back there.

Booked monhts in advance for a room in june. Contacted me two weeks in advance to tell me the room is overbooked because there was an issue in their system. Mind you, I already paid a deposit fee through the app I booked with (hostelworld). I chose the no cancellation option when i booked and now there is a chance I will be charged for the cancellation because of a mistake of the hotel. I’ve read other reviews in this section and there are many other clients who went through the same situation in the last months. Seems a bit weird that this type of situation happens this often. And why are they contacting me last minute when i booked in the beginning of april. It is now june…

Lovely little place in the heart of Athens.. I booked really late on the evening, but the host was really accommodating. she even helped me plan my next days trip to Delphi. Self service breakfast was included in the extremely low price.. at the end of a few weeks traveling money is tight and this was such a lucky find 🙌
