The 10 Best Hostels in Prague (Updated 2025)

"Near the main train station in the bohemian Žižkov district, Hostel ELF fits the area with unique murals and a very social vibe, organizing free BBQs three times a week, movie nights, free walking tours, and offering a large outdoor shaded patio; there’s also a cheap buffet breakfast (about 60 CZK), free coffee/tea, and a fully equipped kitchen." - Matthew Kepnes

The location of the hostel is very good. Close to the center, to bus stops, central stations. Plus, it has a forest right behind it so it's easy for morning hikes. I didn't have high expectations of the rooms. It has a bed and good thing they added curtains. It would be awkward otherwise.||The staff was always helpful and nice. They helped me with every question I had. The activities they have for the guests are nice. Unfortunately, I didn't took part in many but I can guarantee that it's worth going. ||The floor wasn't that clean but everything else good. If, possible maybe they could add more pillows or just a bigger one. ||It was good and I recommend going there. I do believe in future I would stay there again.

This hostel was such a nice vibe and the managers/staff very welcoming and hospitable. Felt like home. We left late and they let us keep our bags and use the facilities before our bus which was much appreciated. I’ll definitely be back!

You get what you pay for. The hostel is well located from the Florenc station. The facilities are clean and the staff do their best but the place needs maintenance (the lockers don't work, the doors barely close, the toilets smell old piss. They ask for a deposit on cash for the key card. DO NOT EXPECT TO HAVE IT BACK. When I asked for mine, the staff told me that "it was not noted in their system".

The best hostel I’ve stayed at! Very clean. The staff is amazing and super helpful and friendly. A great atmosphere great for socializing and some of the better bathrooms I’ve seen. Literally only thing that could’ve improved the experience is AC but i knew there was none when I booked so no issues at all! Thank you Hostel Elf staff!

Very warm and welcoming staff and a patio and kitchen that fostered great connections between guests. A little out of the way from the downtown but that just lets you experience Prague away from the tourist zones. Overall great time!

Cannot fault this hostel at all! The staff were so helpful and welcoming from the get go. There was 18 of us and they were able to accommodate us perfectly. The rooms, bathrooms and communal spaces are all very clean. They put on bbqs on some nights and have some breakfast bits in the mornings. Would definitely stay here again!

I absolutely loved my stay at ELF Hostel in Prague! It’s super cosy, clean, and has such good vibes. The terrace is a great hangout spot and the staff are amazing—especially Noor, who was incredibly helpful and kind. He answered all my questions and gave me the best local tips that made my trip so much more special. Can’t wait to come back again!

Yelp
The nicest staff ever!!!! I think his name was Ivan, let us check in at 6 am and gave us a place to sleep early. Everyone was very attentive and kind. Will definitely be back! Thank you!!!!

Yelp
One of the coolest hostels I've ever stayed in. A few friends and I were traveling around Eastern Europe and needed a place to stay in Prague. For $25 USD each (between the 4 of us), we got a 4 bedroom private room. Though the place gave off a grungy, hippy vibe, the place all around was very clean. Service was awesome and very accommodating. There were a ton of other travelers staying here at the time we checked in, which was a little overwhelming at first, but definitely got use to a bunch of new faces always around. The part we loved most about staying at Hostel Elf was how open and chill everyone was who stayed here. The first night, we met a ton of people by just keeping our door open. There was a bachelor party in the room next to us from Hamburg, Germany, so with our door open, they came over to say hi, bringing their liquor over to share. They have hostel events scheduled every day (like a bbq or game night), which is a great way to meet other travelers. They're totally optional, but I highly recommend making one of them. We met so many cool people, which let us following a group from the UK to a boat cruise on the river. It was amazing. Great service, cheap nightly prices, very clean, friendly open environment, and even a open bar with happy hour. It's in a pretty great location, which was not far from the central station. Talk about a travelers paradise.

Yelp
Really nice hostel with everything you need and really clean. Only two downsides are that it's not located directly in the city centre, a bit to walk and that the cleaning lady starts at 8am, which woke me up several times, but the rest was just perfect and affordable

Yelp
Lady at the receptionist was very accommodating and rooms/beds were clean. Quiet at night and free breakfast. Awesome place but a little far walk from metro or train. Otherwise would definitely come back

Yelp
Great hostel. Good service, cheap, good bear, happy hour and always crowded even in low season. But as most hostels don't expect to have a good internet connection.

Yelp
Amazing hostel, amazing experience here! It's a super cool hostel, incredibly friendly and helpful, and there's cool stuff to do like fusbal, a barbecue, movie nights, free buffet breakfast, free towels and all those little amenities, and it gives off a sort of hippie/loose vibe, but it's freaking dope! Pretty good location, it's near the train tracks, near a good view, and like a 25 minute walk to town, but it's totally worth it. Definitely staying here again if I come again, no doubt. Overall cheap as well. Perfect hostel.
