The hostel is quiet but it’s a great home base while in Guadalajara. Good location proximate to the main points of interest which is really important to me as a solo female traveller in a city that is self-proclaimed to not be the safest. The building itself is gorgeous. Grand pillars, a wrap around balcony, and beautiful tiles. Unfortunately the room has no A/C, so it is very hot. The hostel itself felt safe and secure, but not so much the dorms, as the doors don’t have locks and often get left opened by cleaning staff. I noticed that the girls dorm seemed to be the only one without curtains on the beds to cut out any light which was unfortunate but at least I woke up early everyday. The free breakfast was nice to have! Fresh fruit and toast and yogurts. That was very helpful during my first time in Guadalajara. Showers are hot! Staff is super helpful!

Clean rooms, great wifi, good location. The only one complaint was the noise from the traffic below during the night, but wearing plugs works well.

I would have given 5 stars if the bed wasn't so uncomfortable. I could feel every single spring on the entire mattress. I asked others in the room if they could also feel the springs through their mattresses, and only 2 of them said they couldn't feel any in the 7 bed dorm. The staff offered me to switch beds, but when I put my hand on that other bed, I could feel the springs on that one also, so I decided to stay where I was and used 5 layers of blankets between me and the mattress. While it gets cold outside, when the doors are closed it gets quite warm in the dorm. The lockers can fit entire backpacks/suitcases. The bathrooms are clean and have hot water. Staff are nice and location is good. The kitchen is okay, takes a very long time to boil water on the stovetop and it's cramped in the corner. Thankfully I was the only one cooking when I used it. Breakfast is great. They had watermelon my 1st day and also cantaloupe my 2nd day, and any leftovers they would leave out on the counter after breakfast hours until it's gone. They have bread that you can toast, and butter and jam. Also strawberry yogurt granola, and cereal. Simple, but very easy to fill your belly! They have a WhatsApp group and activities. The tours they offer are a lot more expensive than elsewhere.

I booked a private room and bathroom, and it was well worth the extra. |The room was just across the road from the main hostel, which means the space is very private, with a communal kitchen and lovely outdoor patio /seating areas. Room was large and cool in the hot weather, and very comfortable. Very clean, nice decor and housekeeping was excellent.|Huge plus are the many tours offered by the hostel also, in particular the Tuesday 'Lucha Libre' Trip, with an excellent guide, Sergio.|All of the staff were friendly and helpful, and I would definitely stay here again!

THIS REVIEW IS ONLY RELATED TO THE GRAND TOUR OF TEQUILA! We did not stay in Hosperdate hostel Centro or Chapultepec! We only booked the Grand Tequila tour with Hosperdate centro. The hostel and the staff seemed nice. All in all we got what we came for. We saw a tequila distillery, tried some tequila and saw the city of tequila. The comments you see on the Grand tour are true. Somehow, the receptionist from the hotel booked the tour for us and told us a different price we should pay on the day of the tour itself (instead of 750$, we should have paid 1000$). We got picked up 30 minutes late, got seated in the last row for the way to the distillery and back because the travel bus was already full. The tour guide only spoke Spanish, absolutely no English. Therefore, he couldn’t explain to us why we should pay more and what is included in this or that package. When we go to the distillery it seemed we had free time for about 1 hour, could buy something to eat and drink (this was not included in the tour, so you had to pay extra). There is no shop with water or snacks around so you need to buy everything from the distillery. The distillery was quite small so after 15 minutes you were done walking around by yourself. Then the tour startet and we were introduced to Jesus a elderly guy who has been working there for quite some time and could speak English. He gave us a little private tour of the property and explained the process of making tequila. He did such a great job and if it wasn’t for him we would have been lost in this place. Note that Jesus does NOT belong to grand tours or is a guide. Our guide simply dropped us and left us. Also if you go on the weekends, the distillery is not working so you can’t actually see the process… After the tasting there was even more free time to hang out. The mariachi band started playing almost 1 hour late, played longer than expected. The Mexicans enjoyed it quite much, drank a lot and sang. Most people though were quite hungry and waiting for the buffet to open. The buffet was another thing which was badly organized even though the view was beautiful. Of all the maybe 5 tour buses at this small distillery everyone was supposed to get in line, be seated and then get in line again for the food. It was chaotic and the Mexican visitors were quite interested in getting their fair amount of food right away (some took two plates from the beginning until the cook stopped this so there would be enough for everyone). When getting a second round there was not meat left and only a few veggies. So in total there is one portion for everyone, which is not a buffet. After lunch we drove to the town of tequila, had 2 hours of walking around in a very crowded and touristy city. The bus station was packed with other tour buses. The way back took us much longer than anticipated. The program we thought we got was not what we got. The price of 1000$ is too much for not knowing what will happen next and not having a English speaking tour guide. We spoke to other people who had very different tours from ours, paid less, had more included in their package, saw several fields and distilleries and actually could see the process of making tequila.

Well-located and with kind staff. Several good trips was arranged by the staff, so if you want to experience Guadalajara together with other people, this hostel is an excellent choice. The hostel is slightly worn-down, but as said with the kind staff, it does not matter much.

staff was very nice, breakfast was nice with some fresh fruit. our room was extremely warm, even using the fans. the only way to keep the room semi-cool was to leave the door open overnight, which lead to a lot of bug bites 😂 our room also had a lot of ants on the floor/tables/eventually the bed
