At first it seemed like an inconvenience to be moved to Guesthouse Izba from our pre-booked hostel due to renovations, however we were met with a wonderful surprise. Guesthouse Izba has been in operation since January of this year, so it is in impeccable condition.||||The guesthouse is located in a very central area of Vladivostok -very close to a modest mall called Clover House where you can stock up on some groceries in the underground supermarket. It is about 4 minutes walk to the main Svetlanskaya Street where you can find many nice restaurants and attractions. It is also right next door to one of Vladivostok's biggest bus stations, should you need to grab a bus somewhere.||||During our 3 night stay, we paid for a private double, which came with an exceptionally comfortable bed, new flat screen TV, tea/ coffee making facilities and other essentials. The sleep quality was very relaxing considering the doors were quite thin. We had a shared communal bathroom, which was super clean with excellent hot/ cold showers and wash facilities. This hostel also provides laundry facilities in each bathroom.||||The staff, for the most part, were really welcoming and helpful going so far as to book us taxis for long trips outside the city or offer us some insightful information on apps to use for free sightseeing. One member was less than pleasant and seemed genuinely inconvenienced helping us out / applying his English speaking skills (you know who you are M*x). Otherwise, all other staff members did a superb job hosting us and developing a good name for their new establishment.||||Some other notable things to mention include; the use of a fully functional kitchen for preparing meals, a strong internet connection, a comfortable common area for guests, luggage storage, free souvenirs and very tasteful traditional decor for guests to enjoy. This is an excellent base of operation to branch out in the Vladivostok/ Primorsky Krai region of Russia and a great place to recharge before/ after a long train trip!
