I recently stayed at this hostel and had a mixed experience. The location is fantastic, making it easy to explore the area, and I really enjoyed chatting with fellow travelers in the common spaces. However, I found the room to be a bit lacking in comfort and cleanliness. Overall, it’s a great place for socializing, but I hope they improve the room conditions for a better stay!

It‘s alright if you only need a crash pad and have low standards. The rooms smelled terrible sometimes (no surprise with 14 people), generally the place is rather cramped, especially the showers on the 2nd floor. Also there‘s no hand towels in the bathroom, and remember to bring a padlock and a British plug adapter if you don‘t want to rent that from the hostel. Hosts are super friendly tho.

Excellent location, cozy place, worth the money ! Liked · 1. Excellent location in quiet neighbourhood of Sliema. Bus stops, groceries etc are just 5-10mins walk away 2. Rooms & bathrooms were neat and clean. Decent comfy beds with "safe" drawers. 3. Wifi was great throughout 4. Fully equipped kitchen to make your own food. 5. Wonderful staff, very friendly helpful and make you feel comfy. Disliked · 1. Can get a bit noisy at night in the living area. But it's what a hostel should be I guess.

Cannot recommend. The rooms are crowded, the bathrooms are tiny and outdated. The AC was on all night. Location is bad: uphill from everywhere, and the streets around are dirty and full of garbage. Common room was also tiny. Only redeeming feature are the employees, who are friendly and professional. I hope they find a more deserving employer.

Wow. Me and my 7 friends had the most amazing holiday here. The location was perfect and the area and hostel were so lively with amazing staff and people. The reception staff were amazing and helpful and helped me get in contact with the police when I lost my phone. The cleaners were amazing especially Ram who was such a friendly kind face to see and thorough worker. The rooftop had amazing vibes and the decor was so cute. Will defo be returning.

Advantages: - cheap - good location - kitchen with full amenities Disadvantages: - tiny bathrooms - weird vibes at the hostel - hostel room door does not lock itself - hostel room lockers not very secure so someone can easily steal stuff - no reception at hostel lobby 24/7 - towel not provided on the bed so if someone arrives and there is no reception, one has to wait untill a reception guy comes to shower (if without a towel)

Several guests reported stolen belongings during their stay. Cash, ID cards, passports, jewelry, locks, and other valuables disappeared mysteriously. What’s worse, the hostel staff seemed dismissive and unhelpful when confronted about these incidents. Instead of addressing the problem, they downplayed it, leaving affected guests frustrated and unsupported. Key Points: Lack of Security Measures: The hostel lacks proper security protocols. Entrance ways were unattended and CCTV cameras limited. Guests had no safe place to store their belongings. Staff Attitude: When guests reported thefts, the staff’s response was disheartening. They brushed off complaints, suggesting that they could do nothing. This lack of empathy and accountability was deeply concerning. Recommendation: I strongly advise potential guests to exercise extreme caution when choosing Hostel Malti. If you decide to stay there, take extra precautions: Keep Valuables with You: Never leave electronics or cash unattended. Even if you trust your roommates, it’s better to be safe than sorry. Document Everything: Take photos of your belongings before checking in. In case of theft, having evidence will be crucial. Remember, your safety and peace of mind matter. Hostel Malti needs to address these issues promptly and transparently. Until then, I recommend exploring other accommodation options.

So, what can I say. First of all when we came to the hostel, we had email with the wrong door code. There was no-one from reception and we had to wait 1 hour to know where we need to stay and when we came to the room, there were 8 bungbeds. So we left the hostel and took another hotel. And they don't give refund if you want to cancel.
