Dear Booking / Hostelworld Support Team, I am writing to request the immediate refund of my reservation at [property name] in St. Julian’s, Malta. Due to unacceptable sanitary conditions, it is impossible for me to stay at this accommodation. The place is in a deplorable state, representing a risk to my physical and mental health. I am attaching photos that clearly show the real situation. In addition, the property manager, Ms. Paulina, called me and referred to me as “crazy”, without even knowing me, which I consider disrespectful and discriminatory behavior. This situation has severely affected my well-being and worsened my anxiety condition, making it absolutely impossible to remain there. Furthermore, according to the booking terms, if the cancellation is made less than 48 hours before arrival, only the first night’s stay may be charged. However, I was charged the full amount before my arrival, even though it was clearly stated that the remaining balance should be paid in cash upon arrival. This represents a violation of the booking terms and conditions. This money is the only amount I have for accommodation or to leave the island, so I urgently request a full refund of my booking. Super kind and welcoming staff! I had to change my booking dates several times and they were always super flexible and kind about it. On my last day, they let me leave my bags, take a shower, eat, and relax until my airport taxi arrived. The lady at the front desk is absolutely lovely. Highly recommend!

the reception people were extremely friendly and the rooftop of this hostel is truly memorable. also very nice people that are staying there - as a female solo traveler I felt very safe. truly. although the vending machine sometimes didn't work haha.

Initially I was going to stay here but had an issue with booking, and after seeing what I saw I decided to go somewhere else. The bathroom by reception is filthy, falling apart, and I had a cockroach crawl in while I was using it. The reception itself is a hot box with tiny windows. I can adapt to lack of cleanliness or these kind of issues for a short stay, but the main reason I left was the receptionist honestly worse hostel staff I ever seen. She sat there blasting YouTube videos loud enough for everyone to hear, making you feel like you were interrupting her “me time” just by asking a basic question. I had a booking issue which was why I couldn’t check in, and before even checking, she lazily muttered that she couldn’t help. Easily the most useless, unhelpful hotel staff I’ve ever come across.

Perfect location, clean & great value. Secure. WARNING: No lift (hard with 30kg trolley!) + My upper bunk room had NO FAN/WINDOW (very hot!). Still good if prepared

In a room of 14 people and almost 40 degrees weather they only turn on the ac at night which makes being in the room during the day unbearable, and if the air conditioning does work it’s so weak that people further from it still have to suffer. Additionally, in our room it also stopped working during the night which made it horrible. Adding to this, there are cockroaches. I would avoid the hostel, especially because during summer the price is pretty much the same as an air bnb.

Where can I start..|My daughter had recommended going to hostels as she always used to use them when travelling as she has never had bad experiences.. |1) the pool was not functioning ( over 30 degrees outside)|2) someone stole some food I had left in the fridges.|3) cleanliness wasn't great|4) bbq nights were not done even if advertised, nor drinks on the terrace.|I feel disappointed by this hostel experience, don't think I'll ever try it again|..

Is the Worst hostel I have ever been in my entire life, I actually had to run away from day one , you can only visit there if you wanna humiliate yourself and have a stinky room , and very very rude stuff , I hated whole Malta because of this hostel!!! Trust me you shouldn’t go there even if it’s for free !
