Hostel Montarina

Women: AVOID THIS HOSTEL Unsafe and Unacceptable Experience I stayed at this hostel in a female dorm. In the middle of the night, I was awoken by a man sitting on my bed and molesting my feet. Afterward, I learned from two other women in the room that the same man had also done this to them. The most alarming part is that neither the dorm room door nor the door leading directly outside were locked, which is most likely how this random man was able to enter so easily. The man seemed comfortable in doing this, I would guess that he is a local who knows which dorms are the female dorms, and that the doors which open directly from the street into the dorms are usually unlocked. This is not a matter of comfort—it’s a serious issue of safety. Guests, and especially women, should not have to fear being assaulted while sleeping in a hostel bed. I strongly urge the management to fix their security immediately. Until then, I cannot recommend this hostel to anyone.

They suddenly decided to kick us(group of 5 ) out of the hostel 2 hours before our arrival after saying that they would accept us for a month. I am highly disappointed as we had no backup plan, and don't understand how a hostel could have such bad organisation. Would not recommend

Next to train station… good walk… good for young people looking for value for money with small rooms but good location… strongly recommended for one or two nights .. for more, better to go for a bigger one

Overall is so so The location on Google maps seems easy to get around But it is located on the hill, make it not easy to get to the city center There should be more toilet and shower room I slept in a room of 16 people which was the highest number I used to stay in a hostel

We ended up booking this accommodation as this is the only one that’s left. A bit pricey but you’re in Switzerland so it’s expected. Location is not easy to find but we got there in the end. Great location as it’s just minutes away from the train station and city centre. Free parking, friendly staff. No lift.

Rooms are reasonably clean. The garden is gorgeous! Breakfast very good. But the best part is the staff, they are so friendly, patient and helpful! Our car got on the stair cases and couldn’t move, a staff helped us move the car in the heavy rain, we wanted to go back to thank him but couldn’t find him only after 30 seconds. We really appreciate his kind help!

Like the vibe and atmosphere, but the furniture is a bit old and not so well maintained.

The rooms don’t even have towels und you need to pay them extra. In addition the service don’t really want to interact with you and also the location is hard to get with car and also by feet because of the high ground. But positively there is a awesome pool and the yard looks beautiful. But if you want to more than 2 days, I wouldn’t recommend you this hostel by far!

The grounds are beautiful! There's a little grotto connecting the hostel to the hotel. We reserved a room at the hotel and it looks like it was actually called "Continental park hotel" but right next to the hostel. The room was small but clean and nice. The pool was refreshing, clean and plenty of room even on a hot day. There's also a ping pong table on the lawn. The location is perfect, close to the train and the lake. But what amazed me the most was the wonderful service. They were so friendly and accommodating. I'd definitely stay here again.

Nice Hostel with excellent surroundings, situated right next to the train station but not noisy. Welcoming people, good kitchen and an ok living dining room (a cozy corner is missing). Bunks are quite big but seem to be ok (ours was half empty). I came down here for cycling and will definitely come back again.
