Hostel Mostel

Wonderful experience! The only thing of note is that the lockers aren't super big, so if you have a tall backpack like mine, it might not fit. They do have a little locker by each bed as well for your valuables, though. Laundry service was excellent!

In general it is quite good for the price. Positives: beds have curtains, lights and power outlets. Shower is pretty good. Free breakfast is quite good, and the location as well (about 10-15 minutes walk to most touristic spots). The staff were very nice! Negatives: for me the worst thing was the wifi, it’s pretty bad, which was a bit of a problem as I was working. The mattress was a bit old and not that comfortable. It wasn’t dirty but not that clean either. In general it was a good stay and I’d probably stay there again.

This hostel was amazing. During the three nights we stayed, the facilities were cleaned every day and the staff were very friendly and gave good food recommendations. They were flexible with our insanely early checkout, and available even in the middle of the night when I fell and needed an ambulance. Dennis helped us immensely with support and translating. Thank you for a great stay!

Very cosy place, very friendly. value for price. very nice people and very helpful. nice breakfast, clean place. also, i forgot my headphones when i left on my way to the bus station and i asked them to arrange to bring them to me before my bus leaves and they did everything they could so i could get them back. I definitely recommend and I will definitely go back whenever i visit Sofia.

I had no place to sleep and very low budget: Hostel Mostel was the best thing I could ever wish for a last minute booking. The Team does a big effort to clean daily the rooms and provide all the assistance needed. People are very friendly. For a little extra there is all you can eat big Breakfast in the morning. I am writing daily in my diary the incredible people I am meeting. Hostel Mostel is a blessing for backpackers, travellers and for those in need of a warm cosy friendly space.

Quality/price/location ratio very good, the staff is very helpful. Good meeting point for people who work/travel. I made a lot of friends and acquaintances. Friendly and cozy atmosphere.

I visited in 2023 and my experience was disappointing; put several hundred metres away from the main location in a dank apartment block, and found most residents in the main hostel were living there semi-permanently rather than being fellow travellers. As hostel has a good reputation among backpackers I recently gave it a second chance but was still disappointed; the dorms are not cleaned properly and the social atmosphere is still very very strange.

Stayed in the 8 bed mixed dorm, bed was comfy, but the room stunk from the shower room which was always flooding due to it being clogged, the bathroom had no ventilation and the room was never warm enough to dry it out so the shower was constantly moist which led to the funky smell, when you open the only window near the main door it let's in cigarette smoke from smokers. Rooms can get cold, but they provide extra blankets above the lockers, so that helps. Rooms are semi spacious with a large walking path to put your stuff, and lockers are provided. Beds come with curtains and a light. Rooms are password entry, and the front door also uses a code. Free parking available if you are renting a car. The hostel attracts weird people I noticed. There were three long-term guests who were in the lobby 24/7 doing nothing but starring at people. It's a good hostel to stay at if you are catching a night bus or you have a late flight. There are lots of sockets near the couches, and there are couches everywhere in the lobby. They also provide luggage storage.
