Excellent location in the heart of Sofia, it has markets, shops and all you need just around the corner to get a comfortable staying at your most convenience. It has an excellent furbished kitchen with all amenities needed and if you lucky enough free food left from jenerous travellers. The team working is very helpful, rooms with comfortable beds and clean spaces. PubCrawl is also a must do experience taking you to must see, unique places in town. With people from all around the world you will live the history in one beautifully renewed old roadside inn from 19th century. Not enough words to describe one of the best experiences and unique hostel vibes I got in this place. IT'S A MUST EXPERIENCE IN SOFIA!

Pretty good experience. The employee Julien was super cool and led an great bar crawl. We went to so many places that were invisible from the street but had amazing atmosphere inside. Thank you to him for letting me keep my luggage There while I was out for a day.

I had such a great stay at this hostel in Sofia! The atmosphere was amazing, super friendly and welcoming from the first moment. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and everything was well organized. The best part was that the hostel staff organized a night out and took us to some really fun bars, which made the experience even more special and helped us meet new people.

Very nice Hostel, booked one night there to enjoy sightseeing. Booked on their individual room thats at another building, we knew that though. Clean rooms and good heating, they provide a boiling kettle, a small table, a good bed towels and it's pretty safe. The Hostel's main building is hosting a beautiful common place with a breakfast (not included but you can sign up) with very good variety! Definitelly a highlight. Even though Bulgaria seems to not have many people who can converse in English, the lovely employees were very helpful, kind and helped us with everything and we're there to provide us with any answer to our questions with ease! Thank you!

Solid but strange little hostel in Sofia. The staff are very nice and helpful so no issues there. The rooms are clean and fairly decent. Shower in my room wasn't the cleanest but honestly it was better than most hostels I've been to. The toilets are at the other end of the building, you have to go out to get to them which was weird to me and a bit irritating when it's 3am and you're busting for a pee. The common area is chill and theres usually free tea for you to take. Kitchen is alright too. The location is half decent I guess. Not too far from everything. Overall it's a fine hostel, nothing to complain about too much. Just a bit weird as all.

I recently stayed at Hostel Mostel in the heart of Sofia, and overall it was a solid budget-friendly choice. The location is excellent — just a few minutes’ walk to many of the city’s main sights, bars, and transport links, which made exploring the city super convenient. One of the highlights was the friendly and helpful staff, who went out of their way to make guests feel welcome and offered great local tips. The atmosphere in the common area was lively and social, perfect for meeting fellow travelers. There’s also free Wi-Fi throughout and some fun communal spaces which add to the backpacker vibe. In terms of value for money, this hostel delivers — the prices are very reasonable for Sofia. There are a few things worth noting, especially if you’re sensitive to comfort: some guests mentioned that shared bathrooms can feel a bit basic and occasionally humid, and cleanliness is ok but not luxurious — so it’s definitely more of a no-frills, authentic backpacker experience. All in all, Hostel Mostel is a good pick if you want a social, central, and budget-friendly stay in Sofia. It’s not a luxury place, but it’s great for meeting people and getting to know the city without spending a lot.

Highly recommended. Given the low price, we thought the room would be in poor condition or dirty, but we were pleasantly surprised. Very good accommodation if you are looking for something comfortable, close to the center, and inexpensive.

Reviewing from hostel world as they cancel bookings after staying to avoid bad reviews (I suspect). Really poor hostel. Lots of long term local residents - not necessarily a problem but doors are constantly left open and lots of smoking in the ensuit bathrooms at night. Guys would also urinate with the door open. Not the nicest when beds are literally 1m away from the door to the toilet. I did go to reception to notify them of the incidents but there was no one there. Showers - clean but I suspect that is from lack of use. Water in the shower is tepid at best. Good pressure however. Beds - Nice to have a curtain but they are very dusty. Bed sheets are not cleanest but do the job. Good to have automatic lockers. Location - cant get much better. Lots of direct tram links to around town from right on the doorstep. Cash only - yes they advertise this but come on... almost everywhere else accepts card. It just makes you think they are avoiding something. Reception - a hostel of this size really needs a reception that is open 24h. Overall I would not recommend, however the availability of decent hostels in Sofia is limited. Perhaps it is better in the summer but I can't comment on that.
