What a fantastic place and stay: very clean and homely; bar, great buffet breakfast, great value, hostel-style accommodation. As good as this type of accommodation gets, with clean, well-maintained rooms. Peaceful, picturesque, quiet location overlooking river, so equally not ideal if you want to be in the heart of town and nightlife. The icing on the cake was Guillaume, who I think may be the co-owner/manager: bend over backwards helpful (e.g. he phoned around about six restaurants for us, until he eventually found a table for us on a Saturday night), but mainly for being utterly hilarious :-) Definitely a place I would return to and recommend highly.

Hostel with classic youth holiday vibes. Nice building, rooms with large windows. Blankets could be cleaner and the coffee at breakfast really needs an upgrade. At the same time, absolutely excellent service with friendly staff. Very accommodating to cyclists.

Stayed here 35 years ago. Stopped for two nights. Stayed for two weeks. Loved the place and had so much fun.

Very comfortable and friendly stop off on the drive from London to southern Germany. Free parking just outside.||Stayed in a four bed room (two bunks) with shower and shared toilet for one night. About 25 minutes stroll along the river from the centre of town. Where there are lots of opportunities to eat.|| Breakfast was simple but plentiful and there was an option for dinner and a small bar. Complete with table football.||Whole thing was about €100 for the night.

Three of us got a room during a bike tour. Comfy, clean, great breakfast, and there was a big flea market on the sidewalk!

Not for a hostel stay, for bike rentals. Had booked 6 bikes months in advance for a full day rental. When we came in none of the bikes were ready, there was no staff there to help us. Took almost an hour getting the bikes out, filled with air, batteries installed. Bikes were not well kept and one got a flat and broken stem valve as they were being repaired, which in hindsight was a bad sign. Got a replacement bike in a much to small size but it worked ok. Even though we had prebooked 6 bikes they only had 5 helmets for us. And could not find a sixth anywhere… First couple of kilometers towards Dînant were fine, and then the chain on one of the bikes jumped off. Quick fix but annoying. Then it kept happening. Over the 60 kms to and from Dinant it happened around 15 times, resulting in quite frequent stopping. Chain was very sloppy and loose which we unfortunately did not realize before we were well underway, we were just eager to get started as we had waited so long. Since this was a group of 6 we persevered and didn’t want to return, especially as we had almost depleted the stock of bikes anyways. One of the other bikes also had a bad chain that jumped off a few times. Didn’t totally ruin the experience but it is definitely annoying to have a substandard experience due to severe lack of maintenance on rental bikes. For 30 EUR per day I’d expect better. We got refunded for 2 of the bikes, paid for 4 of them, which we were happy with after the fact, but I’d much rather rent from someone else. Bike ride to Dinant was absolutely stunning. Well worth it. Just get a proper bike elsewhere.
