A bit expensive, like most places in Alter do Chao, but everything is really perfect! Big, comfortable and very clean rooms, nice garden, clean kitchen, friendly staff and amazing breakfast!

My experience at Pousada and Hostel Tapajós was quite satisfactory. From the beginning, I was received with hospitality and cordiality by the team. The included breakfast was a highlight, offering a variety of delicious options that provided a great start to days exploring the region. The quality of the food and the attention to detail by the inn staff were remarkable. The presence of good quality Wi-Fi was an important differentiator, especially for those who need to combine work and leisure during their stay. The reliable connection allowed for a smooth experience for those who needed to be connected. The shared space of the inn was another positive point. Spacious and well organized, it provided a welcoming environment for social interactions between guests, creating a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The location close to the city's tourist center was convenient, facilitating access to points of interest and ensuring a more complete experience of Alter do Chão.

Clean and comfortable. Sunny balcony and hammocks in the yard to chill in. I was lucky that they were just beginning to take new guests in when I walked passed and the people took me in like I was one of their own. Great place to stay!

Nice hostel/pousada, simple rooms but spacious and clean. The grounds are nice with a good garden area with hammocks to chill out. Breakfast is very good, lots of variety, fresh fruit and juices. They offer all the tours to visit the highlights of the region. Wifi is not the best...

Stayed 3 nights at Pousada do Tapajós. Had to pick a taxi to the pousada for R$100 because there are so few buses from Santarém airport. To go back to the airport, the bus schedule is available at the hostel.||Room was super clean and staff was extra nice. Had a single room with a private bathroom. Breakfast was splendid with lots of fruits, homemade juice, coffee, bread, cake, cheese, ham, egg and tapioca.||There is nice area outside with hammocks and the beach is pretty close. It's about 5 to 10 minutes to the city center and a supermarket.||The pousada offers tour with an agency if that interests you. Did the Flona and Jari tour which were both OK. I was alone so it was cheaper joining a group than booking something by myself.||So I would definitely go back to this place again and I recommend it.

A friendly welcome and helpful staff at the reception desk. Good and clean rooms, especially if you remember you are in Amazonia ;-) Breakfast was OK. The garden could be better maintained as the grass on the pictures was replaced by dust. Pleasant place to lie in a hamok and meet Raphaël, friendly and professional guide of the travel agency Amazon Incoming Travel.

Arrived at the hostel to find some lovely welcoming guests who shared food with us late at night! This made us feel very welcome here and so did the staff. The breakfast was fantastic, one of the best you’ll find in a hostel anywhere in South America! The only thing that was a let down was the tour they recommend to do around the beaches. We paid $150Br each and then the guide spoke not a single word of Spanish or English and he made us pay $20Br more for visiting canal du Jari. We went there and loved to walk around, we saw monkeys and sloths. Then at the end he told us we had to pay more. That was very poor communication from him. It gave me a sour taste for the rest of the day as I could not trust him with anything. ||Anyways thanks for the stay!!||Kind regards,||Henry

I stayed at Pousade do Tapajos in the dormitory as well as in a private room. Location is pretty good, just a few blocks from the main square.||||The dorm was clean and nice with big lockers, fans for the day and a/c at night. I liked that the shower and toilet were in two different rooms so one wasn´t blocked by somebody using the other. There is only cold water which was okay in the heat.||||The private room with private bathroom was good value. It was quite small but there was hot water in the shower and a small fridge. Unfortunately it wasn´t quite cleaned to our satisfaction and it was very loud in the morning because reception is right next door and we also heard all the noise from breakfast.||||Breakfast was very good. Every day two different juices, the way the eggs were cooked was different every day (boiled, scrambled, fried) as well and there were plenty of other choices (jam, butter, ham, cheese, different fruits, granola).||||Wifi was very bad but I think that is the case for the whole town.||||By the way, there is no laundry place in Alter do Chão but you can wash your clothes in the back of the hostel by hand.||||I would definitely go back.
