Hostel Rio Playa

Our room was clean but the sheets and towel were stained. We had a private room (double bed) but with a big hole in the wall between the other room. So we heard neighbours as if we were with them! In addition, the hostel is located in a very noisy area, we heard music until 5-6AM in the morning. The bed was not super comfortable but it is a youth hostel, you have to expect a bit, and the pillow was tiny. The air conditioning worked well, the location was good, close to the beach, restaurants, etc. and the staff were friendly. I would not recommend this hostel considering that several others around are in the same prices and would fulfill certain criteria better.

Very kind people there. Beds are average, but this is a hostel, so it's expected. The swimming pool is great too. Having AC turned on all day and night is just wonderful, and you are just a block away from the beach. This is a very good option when it comes to looking for low-cost places to stay in Playa del Carmen.

Super nice location, close to the beach, the bars and clubs and the bus stop. The stuff is really nice and helpful with tours. Really enjoyed my stay. But keep in mind that it's gonna be loud. The hostel is in the bar and club area and you hear that

Hands down the best hostel I've been to in México, and one of the better ones anywhere. Quality bunks, spacious rooms, excellent price, great bathrooms with hot showers! & the location is ideal! Very very sadly they are closing it down soon because they're not making enough money 🙁😭😭

What an experience, Sergio is the best. The Rio Playa has clean rooms, decent bathrooms, and okay Wi-Fi. But any shortcomings or flaws are made up for by the excellent staff. Breakfast was fantastic every morning. It's a good spread and it's always delicious. And Sergio at the rooftop bar is incredible. He just has a way of drawing people together and always gets a group by the end of the night to go out or make plans for the next day. I never had a boring night unless I wanted to and I've recommended this hostel to anyone heading to Playa.

Amazing place cheap, a two minute walk to the beach, fun nightlife, and cheap restaurants on 9 norte. Small pool on the roof with an amazing bar. This place is too much fun. Don't plan on sleeping early here though 2 bars are located next door that play music untill 4am so bring ear plugs if you want to sleep early

the location was perfect and i loved gow relaxed the bar ia upstairs. 25 pesos for a beer where it's 75 pesos in a bar just outside the hostel. helpful and breakfast was just enough to kickstart the day. A good place if you like to stay up late! the club next door is very loud. they party until 4am so bring ear plugs!

Cool spot close to touristy shopping and restaurants. Loud at night with music everywhere. Nice spot to chill and hang with locals and travellers. Rooms are decently priced I believe. Not crazy expensive. Close to a beach. I go Northeast to Mamitas Beach though.
