BED BUGS - BEWARE
First of all, the hostel itself is actually very nice, the patio was comfortable and kitchen was clean and well equipped.
The issue we had was we got really badly bitten by bedbugs in the 6 bed dorm (opening into the courtyard). The receptionist suggested we had brought them into the hostel with us, and wouldn’t refund us for the night we stayed there, despite the fact that we had been camping in national parks for the last week (so no risk of us bringing them with us). We only got bitten on the parts of our bodies we had exposed while sleeping (hands, neck, lower back and face).
Secondly, there was a very loud fiesta that began at 2am. Although we were informed they were having a small party that night, they failed to mention it wouldn’t start until 2am after the hostel had well and truly retired for the evening, even though there were signs everywhere saying curfew began at 11:30pm. The fiesta went until 4am, and was extremely loud.
This was just our experience, and if it wasn’t for the bed bug incident and the fiesta, I’m sure it would have been a great experience for the price ($6000 pesos)
