Hostel Sassi of Matera

I recommend do not stay in the hostel Toilets are really dirty and there is so many bed bugs my body was full of rashes after sleeping one night really bad. If someone want experience the bedbugs rashes u can go to this hostel

I had one of the worst experiences of my life staying here. Within the first night, I noticed itchy bites on my arms and legs. Upon further inspection, I discovered BEDBUGS in the mattress seams and behind the headboard. Totally unacceptable!

Fantastic location, great staff and very reasonable price! It was quiet, clean and chilly in the dorm even when it was 30°C outside. No bedbug, the problem is gone. In summary, GREAT VALUE FOR MONEY!

Nothing negative. Modern and clean hostel at great prices for travellers. Rooms are clean and beds are comfortable. I wish they'd clean the bathrooms every early mornings since there are tens of people using them in the evening or at night. The location is perfect and the check in respected. Strongly recommend.

Really nice, clean and organized hostel. The location is perfect, right in the old town part of Matera, with free parking spots not that far. We were 2 girls and we felt really comfortable, the owner was really nice to us and also recommended some places to go. I'm defenetly repeating when I come back to this city, and i greatly recommend, some cute cafes and cool bars are around just at the corner!

The best: the location super near the old center and that people can enter at anytime along the night using a door code. The bathrooms are outside the rooms but they are always cleaned. The kitchen is super small but clean and they have almost everything to cook. Lockers available. The super bad thing, there are bed bugs. The mattress seemed clean but immediately when I got inside the bed I could feel the itchiness, couldn't sleep good and woke up with a lot of rednesses in my body. Also the girl that slept on the bed above me had the same problem. We complained, the staff understood the problem, gave us some topic cream and changed the other girl's room. Fortunately I only slept there one night.
