Hostel Soca Rocks

If this were in peak season I’m sure it would drop down to a lower rating but because I was in the shoulder season it was still an enjoyable experience. The staff are friendly and the location is great! The price was quite high considering it was shoulder season and the hostel was quite empty. Some things to note - the rooms don’t have individual lights without you going to reception to take a lamp. The locker storage is quite small so if you have a big suitcase or backpack you’d have to just leave it under the bed. The bathrooms don’t have any place to hang a towel or place your items. Everything worked fine for me since we were 2 in a 6 bed dorm and the shared spaces in the hostel were not heavily used.

Comfortable stay in a convenient location. ||We stayed one night as we were hiking through on the Juliana Trail from Kobarid. ||All good in the hostel itself, clean and quiet (off season travel). Well stocked kitchen with a market nearby. ||Only negative was the reception we received from the checkin person, Eva, who seemed either bothered, annoyed or indifferent that we were there and didn’t seem interested in doing her job.||Fortunately, Lea? Was awesome to work with in the morning upon checkout.||Fair price for the amenities. ||P.S.||Towels are 3 € to rent ☹️

Quality hostel. The rooms are clean and most have balconies to let in fresh air which is very nice. The kitchen facilities are beautiful. The common area is a bar which makes for a social atmosphere. I’d stay again!

I have stayed in 40+ hostels this year and this one is one is pretty Awful… especially considering it is 25€ per bed. I was fooled by the higher score but apparently it used to be better than it is now. See below for all the stuff this hostel has wrong. -no curtains on beds -no outlets or lamps at each bed -2€ for towel rental (no free towels) -no A/C -NO FAN (room was hot.. since no AC then Fans would have helped) -no security on windows (must stay open bc no fan or ac) pedestrians walking on sidewalk can reach in and grab your stuff if they wanted -no full sized lockers -only 2 men’s toilets for ~50 guests so you have to wait for toilet a lot -no paper towels at the bathroom sinks -no free coffee (not a big deal but just another thing wrong)

Relaxed and laid back hostel. Not a huge selection of drink behind the bar, but lots of space inside and out. No real games or books worth reading. Could do with a pool table or something similar. Double room is okay, very small, no lamp or anything and door half opens onto the bed. Clean bathrooms, tidy hostel, quiet at night. Lots of parking, great views out of the window and bar as you’d expect for Bovec. Definitely a favourite amongst mountain bikers. Wouldn’t recommend booking adventure sports through the hostel, much cheaper elsewhere if you look around.

Great hostel, amazing and helpful staff- had so many conversations with them and mountains as a backdrop of the hostel. Pure bliss! I would stay here again!

Everything was fine and clean but 6 people is a bit too much for the size of the room.

We had a great time in Hostel Soča Rocks. Everyone from the team is super nice and helpful all the time. We slept in a six bedroom dorm with enough space for everyone. We had lockers under the beds for all of our stuff. The whole hostel is modern, nicely decorated and clean all the time. We felt welcomed right from the beginning. You can book activities at the reception. We went kayaking and rafting which was well organized. A big thank you to the whole hostel team for making our stay so pleasant.
