Hostel Swanky Mint

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Swanky Mint. From the very first moment, the staff were incredibly kind, attentive, and always ready to help. They went above and beyond for us, even helping with parking and spending their time to make sure everything was smooth, despite having many other guests to look after. We were traveling with our 11-month-old baby, and even he felt completely comfortable here — he slept well and enjoyed the atmosphere. That means a lot to us as parents. The breakfast was delicious, the beds were extremely comfortable with fresh and new bedding, and everything was spotlessly clean. The whole place smells fresh and welcoming. The design of the hostel is unique and memorable — a charming mix of newly renovated areas and old, rustic walls, which creates a very special atmosphere. Honestly, I wouldn’t even call it a hostel — it feels more like a boutique hotel with the warmth of a family-run place. We truly felt cared for every step of the way. The staff constantly checked in, offered help, and made us feel at home. Our experience here was far beyond expectations — if we could, we would rate it 11 out of 10. We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel! The hotel is in the heart of Zagreb very close to everything on foot. The hotel room was very spacious, very clean and with all the comforts we need. The breakfast was tasty! All the staff were amazing, very helpful and with a nice smile! Special thanks to Zvonimir in the reception who was very willing to help us on whatever we need!!! He helped us so much and we really appreciated that! For sure we will come back to this hotel in the next time to Zagreb!

The Stay Swanky Mint is truly exceptional.|Don't let the outside put you off, We had Royal Room 07 and it was outstanding. Spacious (larger than some Airbnbs we've been in!). Modern bathroom. Strong wifi. Great facilities.|The staff were great|Breakfast was incredible - tasty, filling, freshly made and more classy than your average big hotel buffet.|The first morning, our shower overflowed (the plug hole blocked and the water wasn't getting away). We reported it on our way to breakfast; by the time we got back, it was fixed and we ever had the problem again. I don't write that as a criticism - these things happen. I write it as a positive. The young guy at reception assured us that this was not normal, that it shouldn't happen, and that he'd get straight on to it. And true to his word, it was quickly and properly fixed.|Our housekeeper/maid was lovely.|Well located and easily walkable to many of the main sites of Zagreb.|There's a tram station right outside. The trams are cheap and regular (note: sometimes they're even early!). Tram 6 will take you to and from the main bus station (and a couple of stops later) the main railway station. You can buy tickets for cash from the driver, or it's cheaper to buy them from the little kiosks/shops and validate them on the machine in the tram.|We had a voucher for a welcome shot from the Swanky bar.|Many of the other hotel chains could learn from how Stay Swanky approach things.|I wouldn't hesitate to recommend and I'd sure stay here again.

I stayed at Swanky for two nights, location was perfect. Great in house bar and in the city centre. Service was top class, Lucija on the front fest was so helpful and just the nicest person! Helped me find my phone and made me feel so welcome. I recommend to meet people, stay in the city, proper hostel food vibes

Hostel Swanky Mint in Zagreb is an amazing place to stay with everything a traveler could ask for. The location is perfect, close to the city’s main attractions and easy to reach by public transport. The pool bar is a fantastic spot to relax, socialize, and enjoy a drink after a day of exploring. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful, always making you feel welcome. A must-stay hostel for anyone visiting Zagreb.

So this was heading for four stars until breakfast this morning. We were booked into Royal 05, shame as I wanted to use the pool and not practical since where down the street from the main hotel. Service here is terrible, either they don't have enough staff or they are very ineffective! When we got our room the instructions are not very good, after 20 minutes we found 44 and the swanky rooms but they need signposting. Good room, nice and spacious, have to use the sockets above the bed for the kettle as the one next to it was blocked by the metal wardrobe. Leaving this morning we went for breakfast at 7.30am, which is when it starts. I spoken tersely to by an a girl which was off putting. The water in the urn was luke warm, I ordered the bacon buns straight away, waited for the breads which did not arrive as they were still in the oven at 8am. We had to catch the tram, but we were told we were too early! Breakfast starts at 7.30am, we don't all eat cereals. Was a let down.

The staff are very kind and helpful at Swanky Mint, we really enjoyed our stay, breakfast is delclicious, and we also had dinner at the restaurant (Asian fusion). The restaurant dinner is incredible, highly highly recommend. We stayed in a private room which was quiet and very clean. There are some private rooms which are right next to the bar area, we were initially offered these rooms but asked to be moved, location of these rooms is not good due to noise and annoying music (if you want some peace and quiet). Manager was very helpful with moving rooms but just be aware and I would suggest you request what you want at booking in. The dorms seem to be away from the bar area.

I’ve just had the best hostel experience ever. Everything was clean and the bathroom was literally shiny. The breakfast is so good. Highly recommended. It’s very much beyond my expectations! Loved it and thank you.
