Hostel The Old House

I am really sorry to write it, since the owner is very nice and is trying his best to manage the hostel. The star goes to him. But the hostel itself is just as horrible as it can be. Old house is really old house, so that it can be falling apart each minute. Rooms are not dirty, but not maintained at all. No air conditioning, i slept with a ventilator. Sheets are from plastic so you sweat as hell. Shower and toilet are just bad. And I don't know, it's just everything old and bad. I am not picky normally, but I am glad i stayed one night. But location is great, and as i say, owner is really nice.

Well… what can I say - you get what you pay for. We stayed in a double room for 40 leva for one night and felt very shocked. What did I like about it? The host was very friendly, the price is very low, it is very close to the beach, when we got to take a shower there was hot water. However, the conditions were poor in terms of cleanliness. While the sheets had been washed and the floor had just been mopped when we arrived, the rest of the stuff was unpleasant. The mattresses weren’t very comfy and were obviously stained and the only thing that divided you from them were the thin sheets. The curtain and the walls was dirty, the kitchen appliances too, the bathroom wasn’t clean either. There was mold on the edge of the sink, somebody had hit the wall in our room and was broken, the ceiling was slowly falling apart, doors were loud and screechy AND there was no mosquito net for the windows. It isn’t a cosy, put-together vintage house, it was an actual old building that is slowly “decomposing”. I really hope that in the near future the Old House gets to have a renovation so that it becomes… habitable. I would recommend thinking twice about renting this place especially if you can afford a better one. It will work for people that do not care.

Probably the dirtiest place in all of Europe. Uncomfortable beds. Super dirty bathrooms. Very small and dirty kitchen. But good location! Not so cheap compared to much (Much!) better places - but as a super low budget traveler i stayed there for couple of days. Make your choice

Accidently we had to stay for a night in Burgas. It was night when we found this hotel as a first near to Nisikli office. We have been given a room that was called "luxury room" but this room was very awful. Most of the furniture was very old as well as the windows which were dirty and full of insects. In the toilet we found spiders family, which perhaps checked-in to this hotel right before us. Shower did not work, there were no towels at all, we found somebody's clothes into the wardrobe and old chees in the fridge. On the booking.com website it is written that every room is complected with slim tv but our one was with small and very old tv.|| We would like to make an accent on the hotel manager's appearance. He was drunk when we arrived, asked us some very strange questions, made a lot of mistakes while registerin us. In the morning he came to the room and started to kick us out saying "hurry up" very rude when we were sitting ready-to-go in the room waiting him to give keys. ||We do not recommend this hotel to stay even for a night.

Price is low.Owner is really nice and helpful. Its in great location to center and beach. Rooms are clean, toilet too. What Can I want more with this price? I reccomend if You need something in good price and location.

I got to the hostel and was looking for the entrance, I was greeted by the owner by him saying "what's your problem?" (not starting well) then I asked for a dorm room, he said no. Then he said there was only a private one available for 30Lev. So I accepted, then I asked for 1 night and now the price was 35Lev if only 1 night. I took it anyway cause i did not want to look anymore. The next day I left my bag at the hostel (surprised he let me) as my bus was at 1:30. Check out is 9am (ridiculous). Came back at noon to get my bag back to catch the bus and asked to use the bathroom, he refused! saying am am not a guest anymore...He was so rude. The worst hostel host I encountered. The only good thing is it was clean. Don't go there if you can.

We spent two nights in the Old House Hostel. It was clean. But the owner is a horrible person. For the first time we went in he acted very suspecious and unfriendly to us. Then I asked him the first night if I can hang my washed cloth on the rope for hanging wet clothes on the balcony. He was totally drunk and yelled very rude to me not to use the rope. So we borrowed two chairs and took them into our rooms to hang our wet clothes on it. And we were four people in the room, two of us were still out in the city so they had the key. Our door was not possible to lock from inside without the key (it was supposed to be able to be locked but wasn't possible) so we didn't lock the door because of the others coming home. So suddenly the drunk owner in the middle of the night around 2oclock rushes into our room and teares all our cloth off from the chairs and starts to take the chairs out. Then he started to yell at me because he didn't want us to use the chairs and he wanted to show me the rope to use for hanging wet clothes. I said we were sleeping, then he didn't go away, he was totally drunk and arguing so that he could show us the rope (which i was totally clear of all the time, he just insisted not to use it). Then he didn't go out from our room until I pushed him out and shut the door on him.||There were two bathrooms in the hostel and he insisted that we not use one of the bathrooms. He didn't even explain way, he just yelled at us all the time, and because the hostel hosts a lot of people, one bathroom is not enough.||For the rest of the time when we came and went he just stood there and looked on us with a disgusting way of looking at us, not talking to us at all.||The hostel is clean, but it's a madhouse! Don't ever go there and support this crazy man's business, he is a disgusting person.

The hostel as a building itself is very charming. But the man who is working there is very very unfriendly, not welcoming at all and the atmosphere in is very cold.He closed the complete 2nd floor so that we could not use the kitchen. As we found out over Internet that there should be one, he did not deny. But he controlled every step the guests made. You could not sit in the garden because he was always re-arranging the chairs whenever You just left for a minute. And the homepage made big advertisement for the kitchen use and the garden. We talked with other guests and everybody had the feeling that guests are just disturbing. As the common room also had been in the second floor we could also not use that one. It is a ||a pitty, but when You have in a hostel no other space for You than Your bed just because the staff want to have less work and closes everything for the guests it is not a welcoming place.
