It’s probably the worst place I’ve stayed in Kyiv. Location is right in the city center next to amazing cafes. But in the apartment works some kind of pump. It makes terrible and loud noise, so I couldn’t sleep. All night. Owners said it is forbidden to turn it off. They didn’t warn about this noise, but should have. Also, there was no chair or a table here, they asked me to pay additional money for the room with table. If you're tired after long trip, this might be not the best place to spend the night. It was clean, though 😅 I stayed there 1 day instead of 5, but they didn’t want to make a full refund even though it was impossible to sleep there.

Stayed here for four nights at the end of June 2018 with two friends. It's in an excellent location, very central in Kiev, with major sights and amenities within walking distance. It's near several bars and restaurants, which was helpful when trying to catch up with the world cup football! ||||The hostel itself is tidy enough, and the showers and shared areas were clean. There are decent amenities for travellers. The nights sleep was decent, with fair sized rooms, though they were a bit hot even when we had the window open - perhaps install a fan? The hostel is inexpensive when you consider what it offers. ||||My major reservation is the customer service. On check-in, we were ignored for around 10 seconds, then the receptionist proceeded to issue a series of questions at my friend in a gruff and offhand manner. We were told it was not possible to pay our balance in Euros and that we should have changed money at the airport, despite arriving in Kiev at 3am in the morning and this not being mentioned as an issue in earlier e-mail correspondence. Despite my friend attempting several times to find common ground and show geniality he was only met with more truculence; we did manage to sort out the payment issue after a few goes and a bit of patience. Other customer service was thankfully better, though on leaving a different receptionist was also slightly rude to us, at least initially.||||Overall the hostel has its upsides - it's in a great location and offers good value for money, but we would ask that guests are treated with more courtesy by certain members of staff - it is not too much to offer basic politeness.

One of the worst experience regarding the service in hostel! We stayed this summer, August 2016, with a group, and we will never repeat the same mistake. I have to tell that a lot depends on the staff. So, during our stay the receptionist badly treated our international guests. Here are some examples:||- They were downstairs at night, trying to get in, calling the doorbell and she did not let them in. It happened during several nights, and it is not acceptable to let people outside, especially when the service is 24/7!||||- Our Slovenian guest wanted to wash his cloth, however, he did not pay attention that there is a 'queue' to do the washing. So, he just put all his cloth in the washing machine. When she saw it, without any notice, she stopped the washing machine at the middle of the process, took all his wet cloth and put in the corner. He was shocked with such an attitude. ||||- One more thing: she was shouting at our guests! Shouting!!! I wonder how can the manager hire such people, who has neurotic problems.||||The hostel itself is nice, good beds, showers, kitchen, common room and central location. But only one receptionist made our experience a nightmare! Never again!||||P.S. Expect super long stair trip up as there is NO elevator!

The upsides of the hostel are the very good location, the facilities in the dorms (power outlet next to every bed, lockers in the room) and the common room where you can actually meet other travellers. The bathroom cleanliness and condition is below average though.

I arrived in Kyiv in the overnight train from Moscow. Decided to walk from the Central Train station to Veselka - don’t do that! It’s ages away. I discovered though that the hostel is exactly where you want it to be - close to St Sofia Square, cathedrals, museums, the funicular and heaps of funky bars and cafes. It’s also right above a metro station, which is pretty handy.||||The door locks after hours, just ring the buzzer and they’ll Auto Unlock it for you. Be prepared for the stairs! It was a nightmare dragging my luggage up there! The private room was really big. Nice bathroom with good water pressure and temperature. Some great views and 2 heating units for winter. I’d stay here again for sure.

Its true what they say, you get what you paid for! I think I paid $8 USD for the night! Many will complain the long flight of stairs you must take to get up there, but I'm a fitness guy so I enjoyed the challenge! I think something needs to be done with the staff. I'm not going to judge them for not being as polite as I wanted them to be, but my god do these girls not get rest? I checked in early around 1030 and saw the same girl later that night, again in the early morning, and later when I checked out. I hope the girls aren't doing this out of their own will because its barbaric to be working almost 24 hours!!! So the place was neat, very clean and organized. Excellent location, my god you couldn't have asked for a better spot. Safe, near the metro, shops, restaurants, very excellent when it comes to location. However, NO AC IN THE ROOM! I stayed here in late August so that sleep wasn't the best. It's not the hostels fault but once idiot ruined our sleep at night by being loud and obnoxious! I relaxed in the break room where I was able to get fresh air! Decent prices for the little things you need. Needless to say, I didn't get a good nights sleep. So fair warning if you book this place, YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!

Nice hostel. Everything seems to be new and on a good level. Shower, beds, toilets, restroom and the kitchen make you feel comfortable. Close to the center and around the corner you will find the Golden Gate of Kiev. Good reception and clean modern rooms. It was a pleasure to stay there.

We landed in Kiev on Saturday and spent three nights here - Great, friendly staff, special mention to Lena who checked us in. Generally pretty clean and tidy in a great location. One word of caution however we booked a four person en-suite via hostel world as there were four of us and it made sense only to discover that the only en-suite rooms were in fact the eight beds and there aren’t four bed en-suites at all - I wouldn’t let this deter from booking however as the communal facilities were very good.
