I strongly advise against staying at this hostel. The rooms are dirty and poorly maintained. The people I shared the room with entered with their shoes on, brought food inside, and left dirty clothes everywhere. There is no hygiene or respect for basic cleanliness standards. When I reported the issue, nobody cared. There is no manager available, only front desk staff who cannot help and ignore complaints. There is absolutely no professionalism or proper management. I’ve stayed in many hostels in Nice, in France, and across Europe, and I have never seen a place this neglected. There is mold, bad smells, dirt everywhere, and no cleaning standards at all. Honestly, even a prison would be cleaner and more organized than this place. I truly regret staying here and I want to help others avoid the same mistake. I strongly recommend choosing another accommodation. Please take this review seriously — it comes from a disappointed but honest former guest.

The location is truly fantastic. Right in the city center, close to the beach and also near to the Jean Medecin metro. It doesn’t get any better than this. I can’t speak for those who left negative reviews, but we stayed in a double room and had an amazing few days. The room was perfectly clean, with good soundproofing. Street noise is barely noticeable, even though it’s in the center. Nice itself is quite peaceful, with a true Mediterranean atmosphere. The kitchen is also superb, with plenty of space and very thoughtfully organized — individual cardboard bags and a marker to label them. There’s a gym — seriously, where have you seen a gym in a hostel? I read some complaints about not enough showers; go down to the gym, there are three or four more, and it’s almost always empty. The recreation area is wonderfully equipped with table tennis, books, and even a hammock. The design is very pleasant. Most importantly — the reception staff. Extremely friendly and always ready to help. If I wanted to lower the rating, I honestly couldn’t find anything to complain about. Absolutely no issues with the staff, only lots and lots of thanks. There’s also a luggage storage room — some mentioned it’s unguarded. It’s actually locked, and you get the key upon request. So that complaint is completely unfounded. I’m writing in detail because I feel the hostel deserves it — it’s truly excellent. P.S.: For those arriving by plane: don’t buy a tram ticket at the airport for 10€. Take the same train which is free till Grande Arénas, then get off the tram and on this station buy a regular city ticket at the machine for 2.50€. And simply wait for the next tram, they come almost every 5-10 minutes. Also, visit Monaco on the regular city bus — also 2.50€. The coastal views along the way are stunning. The closest central station is in the port Lympia area near the church of Maria. Thanx much Villa Saint Exupery for such a nice hosting

Very good hotel. Clean and with perfect amenities. The hostel offers a kitchen, a large number of tables on two floors, where visitors can eat or have fun. There is also a small gym, which is free. Luggage storage before check-in and after check-out is also free. In addition, the hostel provides a free shared bathroom for anyone who would like to take a shower at any time after checking out. The hostel is located in the center of Nice near the old town and the beach. The train station and bus station are also not far from the hostel. Perhaps a small drawback is that the beds themselves are a bit short for tall people, like me, but they would definitely be uncomfortable for people over 190 cm tall. Overall, the beds are comfortable. For those arriving from the airport, I recommend not buying a ticket right away, since the ticket is 10 euros at both terminals. The transport from Terminal 1, as well as from the distant Terminal 2 to the Grand Arenas stop is free. You can buy a ticket to Nice for only 1.70 euros. In case you don't have a lot of luggage and you like walking, you can get from the airport to the center on foot.

Poor air quality was the biggest problem, giving me a headache and a need to go out. Otherwise the staff was friendly, the breakfast buffet was affordable (8e) and satisfying, coffee good, and the beds comfortable. It was just quite difficult to manage in a tiny, full room without any personal hooks or shelves, and my backpack would not fit in the storage locker. The room was cleaned every day which was great. I had lively chats with my friendly roommates in a mixed room, grateful for that too!

My first solo journey led me to the wonderful Hostel Villa Saint Exupéry Beach, and it was an experience that surpassed all my expectations! From the moment I checked in, everything was seamless and efficient, even when paying with cash, which was incredibly convenient. ||The hostel exudes a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere that made me feel at home immediately. I stayed in a 7-bed room equipped with 4 bunk beds, and surprisingly, I slept like a baby! The hostel staff diligently checks and cleans the rooms daily, ensuring everything stays neat, adding to the comfort of our stay.||Moreover, the bathrooms were consistently well-kept, and the air conditioning in the room was a lifesaver! It's these thoughtful amenities that made my stay not just comfortable but truly enjoyable.||My time at Hostel Villa Saint Exupéry Beach was undoubtedly the most unforgettable adventure of my life thus far. It's a place so delightful that it alone gives me reasons to return to Nice. I highly recommend staying here if you're looking for a place with charm, comfort, and a warm, friendly vibe.

Google
I saw some reviews below, but honestly my experience at the hostel was great. The location is excellent, close to the beach, supermarkets, shops, and public transportation — I walked everywhere. I stayed for 5 days in a mixed dorm. The beds are comfortable, there are lockers in the rooms (you need to bring your own padlock), and the bathrooms are cleaned daily. Showers, air conditioning and outlets all worked properly. There are some nice common areas for guests, as well as a city tour (I didn’t join, but I saw many people praising it), among other activities. All the staff I interacted with were kind. It’s possible to leave your luggage in a locker after check-out and pick it up later in the day, which is very convenient for those traveling at night, for example. The check-in and check-out process was very smooth. I think what can make the experience unpleasant are some disrespectful guests regarding noise and cleanliness, but that’s not the hostel’s fault. All in all, I recommend it and will definitely return

First hostel I stay at. It's definitely a good location. A good kitchen you can use with acceptable shared spaces. Drawbacks are some rooms - a 12-bed room, it was too much with some spaces not clean. If you want to offer that, you need to put in more cleaning there. Also policies of not smoking in room and in general rules amplified. The beds are simple and budget. If you have someone moving above you, the whole bed rocks. Consider mounting the beds in some way? The beds have no easy case for example to lock small essentials or so. You have to buy a padlock to use a locker. No small lamp attached to the beds, could also be offered so one doesn't need to walk around with the phone lamp or turn on the room light for everyone to get annoyed. The refrigerator in the common space is quite fool. Consider either buying another one or using some other type of marking technique, for example with different colors one can attach to the handbag. A towel? Should also be included in the stay. It's also not easy when having your own, you need to dry it attached to the bed... And if you're 6-12 people in one room, you'll probably have humid room. Baggage room works well, plenty locker spaces of metal are broken. Needs fixing. Staff in general not so happy, giving a bitter feel, not passionate or interested. Maybe the employer needs to improve some conditions for these or hiring?

Absolutely LOVED my stay at this modern hostel — it exceeded every expectation! From the moment I arrived, I was impressed. The renovations are top-notch, giving the entire place a modern, clean, and vibrant feel. The rooms are incredibly spacious (seriously, way roomier than most hostels I’ve stayed in!), with comfortable beds, sleek decor, and excellent air conditioning — a lifesaver after a long day out exploring. One of the standout features is definitely the huge modern bar. It’s stylish, well-stocked, and buzzing with great energy in the evenings. Whether you’re looking to meet fellow travelers or just chill with a drink, it’s the perfect spot. The bartenders were fun and welcoming, and the vibe was just right — lively but not overwhelming. The staff were phenomenal across the board. Super friendly, helpful with tips about the area, and genuinely made me feel at home. You can tell they care about the place and the guests, which made a big difference. I had a pleasure to meet owners of this place, they were very nice people who really went up and beyond to make me and my friend feel welcomed. If you’re looking for a hostel that combines comfort, style, and a social atmosphere without sacrificing quality, this is the one. Highly recommend and would 100% stay here again!

Yelp
Pros: Great location, friendly staff, cute common area, large kitchen, lots of areas that you can chill, close to a Momoprix. Cons: I can only speak for the 2nd floor private rooms, which are located in another building, 2 doors down from the main dorms. If you are a light sleeper and staying there from Wednesday - Sunday.....beware. The Hostile wall is shared with a Live Music club and their hours are 11P-5A. It was very loud.

Yelp
A hostel in centre of town. What i liked: -location (very central) -ok ish breakfast. -cheap What i did not like: 1. Customerservice. I had booked and paid a 4person dorm bed more than 6month ahead. Upon arrival, when i entered the dorm, to my surprisr it was a 12person dorm. When i went down to complain, they offered complimentary breakfast... Which in fact i had already paid for. Sorry, this is no way to treat customers. 2. Bathrooms not all functioning. I considered only one star, but given location, they still got an extra star.

Yelp
awesome stay here, especially the French riviera bar crawl. bar was always playing cool music. Ursula and Yuslem specifically were awesome hosts for the bar crawl!

Yelp
I've lost count of the times I've stayed in Nice. I used to stay in Villa Saint Exupéry's first location - this was my first stay in their new location. I was not disappointed! After a disastrous stay in Paris, we arrived somewhat flustered - but left feeling very happy! The location is fab - near enough to the train station, but so close to the old town and beaches. We stayed in a a private room - very clean and an en-suite. It was fab. The staff are fantastic- and cannot recommend enough activities/restaurants/bars/clubs - just brilliant. Even the weather was warm enough in January to wear jandles! I'm already looking forward to going back!

Yelp
Great hostel. Stayed here for a few nights and cannot rate the place highly enough. Rooms have en-suite and match up well to any of the 'budget' hotels. Location is perfect for the beach and pretty much everything else in Nice. Breakfast is great value and available for a decent amount of time so no pressure!. Clean and spacious. Helpful staff.

Yelp
My two night stay at the Villa Saint Exupery Beach was only 18 Euro per night to stay in a 12 bed dorm room with bathroom. The hostel was very easy to find and has an attached cafe/bar attached right next door. Check in is 3 pm and check out is 10 am but you can put your bags in a secured holding room with lockers before check in and after check out. Location is great with many shops, restaurants, and beach nearby. Complementary breakfast of cereals, toast, & juice served until 10 am. Comfortable bed and clean linen. See my many pictures,

Yelp
This hostel is great for a young traveler. There is a bar attached to it as well as a bar on the corner. Their WiFi is decent and the rooms and shower were clean. In a room for 5 people, we barely saw our roommates, which was a good thing! It's in a great location so it's easy to explore the area or use the train to venture out further.

Yelp
If going to Nice, stay here! Absolutely one of my favorite hostels that I have been to in the world. This is actually my second time in Nice and last time I stayed at the Villa Saint Exupery Garden. I still have several friends around the world who I have met from staying at this place. The people who run the hostel are all a bunch of younger kids approximately my age so it makes for a more comfortable experience. There are a bunch of computers, wifi, happy hour, and a kitchen to do your own cooking. They offer a great walking tour (these are a great way to meet people during your travels). Try to come during a Thursday - Saturday night so you can go out on the club crawl with these guys. Make sure you ask them how to get to Cap d'ail and Theoule-sur-Mer (i think that was the second beach). James was very helpful and offered great advice. In general everyone here is knowledgeable and great with giving directions, etc. I recommend having a lock so that you can lock up your valuables when staying here.

Yelp
Quite a nice hostel! We stayed in a 6-person dorm room, and it was quite spacious and there are lockers for your belongings, though you need to bring your own lock (typical). It's pretty clean in general, although the sheets are a bit dirty. There are a lot of activities, although we planned on going to the walking tour and they didn't have it around the holidays. The showers are really small and not the greatest, although there are showers for each room (I can't imagine there not to be though; it's basically one shower and one toilet per room). It's conveniently located near Old Town, and it's a pretty great place to stay.

Yelp
Stayed here a couple of times, it's where the fun is! Cool bar, friendly staff, simple but clean rooms, top spot for getting around the city and down to the local beaches, they are pretty helpful with information/local knowledge... Good value, will stay there next time too... easy peasy!

Yelp
"Great location, surprising amenities, good value for money" PROS - GREAT LOCATION just a walk to the beach, Casino supermarket and eateries open late at night - Open, safe, casual spaces to meet other travelers. - Lots of shower stalls, toilets and sinks. Never had to wait to use one. Bathrooms are clean and always have toilet paper. - Reasonable rates - Lockers are available and spacious. Locks can be purchased at front desk, pretty convenient. - Friendly and helpful staff. Nadi and Ana recommended local cuisine in town. Ana provided me with valuable travel info which set my travel plans in Nice! Thanks! - Lots of common space in dorm and space under bed to store personal things. - Clean linens and comfortable bunks. - Once checked in, hours unrestricted. Card key gives freedom to enter and exit. - Computer desk space to get some work done - Tour options for canyoning (seems cool, but I never went) - Reliable WIFI - Hand soap stations by sink - Kitchen sink and clean plates bowls and utensils to use - Showers have hangers for towels/clothes - Bike racks to lock bicycles CONS - 16 bunks in dorm = undesired noise from others. PLEASE RESPECT QUIET TIME! - Dorm room lacks ventilation and can get very stuffy and humid - Music in the café next door is unnecessarily loud and doesn't stop until after 12am.

Yelp
It does what it says it does. I think the rates were higher when I stayed here (£33 a night) due to Euro 2016. Check in was straight forward, got my key card and off I went. I was in a mixed 12 person dorm so it was a bit cramped, even by hostel standards. The bedding was torn in places and was really old. The shower room/toilet for the door had 2 showers, so that was good. Although the cleaning standard, I think they chuck bleach around it everywhere, but when looking it's quite grubby in parts and could do with a proper wipe down and clean. The bar is friendly, as are the staff that work there. What is really annoying though is every night they reserved all the tables (apart from one round by the kitchen and disabled toilets) - for a tour party to stop off and have dinner. So, the people in the hostel, the ones that are paying to stay there get relegated whilst this tour is eating, which is a bit of a liberty I think, half way through your drink and you get hoofed off your table. There is free internet and PCs to use whenever you want. They will also print your boarding pass for you at no cost which is really handy. They do have a sauna (didn't use it as I was hot enough!), table tennis, etc.,so that was good and a few drinking games were had around the table tennis! So it was a good laugh! They are quite rigid at making sure that you have checked out on time, which is a fair one,but do take this into account if planning a big last night and wanting to sleep it off! I'd go back absolutely, just making sure that the rates are a bit lower when I book :)

Yelp
This hostel was a blast! A very good place for travelers ages 18-32. The location was perfect! Not far from old town or the beach. The hostel was not the cleanest nor the most modern, but the experience was worth it. I made wonderful friends here, and had a blast at the bar (especially during the later hours). They also do your laundry for you for €7 - that way you can go off, enjoy your day without worrying about putting your laundry in the dryer. I would come back in a heartbeat.

Yelp
This hostel is great for quick and easy access to local shops and restuarants. The room is clean and comfortable as well as fairly spacious. There are a range of facilities available from a gym to a ping pong table. Overall, great stay and would recommend to others.

Riya S.

Yelp
Stayed here for 1 night. The hostel is located in a great area with lots shops and restaurants nearby. Rooms were spacious and clean and had free wifi which was great! The beds were comfy and bathroom was clean too. Staff are very friendly. Overall, its a nice hostel with good atmosphere!

Yelp
The location is decent -- a short tram ride or 15-minute walk from the train station, and walking distance to the beach and flower market. The 16-bed room wasn't cramped but had only one bathroom/shower.

Derrick F.

Yelp
This is one of the finest hostels that I have stayed at in the world. The staff was friendly and helpful, the property was safe and clean, the entire facility was perfectly geared to assist any traveller. It was very economical while, at the same time, extremely classy. I went to spend two nights and ended up spending a couple more.

Jesse L.

Yelp
While not my favorite hostel ever this was a decent experience. I would say though, why do they let old ladies stay here? Kinda creepy if you ask me. It was fairly clean. Had free coffee and tea. A €1 beers during happy hour and €3breakfast. Very decent prices (€22 each). Close to everything! Nice social room with relatively unsocial atmosphere. Has a shitty sauna in the basement but hey it has a sauna! Also has nice locker room and showers for use after being at the beach even if you've checked out for no extra charge. Also has a small gym. Overall very nice stay
