I really enjoyed my stay at the Hostelle - women only hostel. While it is a bit further out of the city, it is easy to get to by city train. Just hop off/on at the area and you will be into downtown Amsterdam within no time! I felt that the hostel was very safe with a code for entry and exit into the space. The kitchen was amazing and well equipped. There was a Lidl within a couple of minutes walk from this place. Given that it was in the area plaza area, the hostel had some coffee shop, drug store, and other amenities close by as well. It felt less touristy than a hostel would be if it were right in the city center. The common area felt cozy and inviting and they had a couple of events during the week which was great for building community/meeting people. The rooms were all themed which was awesome. I was in the Titanic themed room which was on the first floor. In addition to bathrooms and showers which were outside of the room, the hostel also had a makeup/ getting ready area. I loved all the little touches to this hostel and it was a great stay.

Best hostel for solo traveling female, best location, very near to food chains and Lidl supermarket, having excellent facilities with free tea and coffee, very safe and on 8-10 mins walk to Arena station. Best time spent in Amsterdam.

Review:||I stayed here for a week and had a terrible experience. Due to a booking issue, which the hostel staff themselves did not realise until 1 a.m., I was confronted by three staff members (all Spanish women).||||Instead of handling the situation professionally, they mocked me in their own language, treated me as if I had done it deliberately, and then tried to force me out alone into the street in a very unsafe area at night. I explained I was a vulnerable woman who had already taken medication to sleep, but they showed no care at all. Their behaviour felt like bullying and possible discrimination.||||The situation became so serious that the police were called, and even the officer told staff it was also their fault for not checking earlier and that I should not be put out in the middle of the night in an unsafe area.||||The hostel itself is also extremely dirty – with blood stains in the toilets and mice running around the kitchen. For a women-only hostel this is unacceptable and dangerous.||||I left feeling distressed, humiliated, and unsafe. I strongly warn other women travellers to avoid this hostel.“Dirty, unsafe, and discriminatory”

I had a deeply frustrating experience with Hostelle. I accidentally canceled my booking through Hostelworld due to their one-click cancellation system (no confirmation, no warning, and not even a cancellation email). I realized the mistake immediately and reached out to Hostelle to explain what happened and ask for my booking back. Despite the situation being clearly unintentional and the room still being available, their management was completely unwilling to offer any flexibility. I understand policies exist, but hospitality should also involve some level of human understanding. I’ve never had such an uncompromising experience in all my travels. If you choose to stay here, just know that even an honest mistake, no matter how quickly addressed, will not be met with any empathy.

It was the first time for me to stay in a hostel. Really enjoyed it, only woman feels me saver. The room was nice, the bed slept well, the people and service nice😍🫶🏼. Yes I will come back to this place. November going to Calum and James at the Ziggo Dome❤️‍🔥.

ended up not actually staying here--had an issue with my booking (through booking.com, something went wrong w/ the date itself) & the way it was handled by the receptionists was a bit rude and unprofessional, i thought. instead of telling me directly that they wouldn't be able to accomodate me, they talked around it amongst themselves for a decent bit and laughed about it the whole while, only telling me directly i wouldn't be able to stay there when i asked them point blank to tell me whether or not they could move the booking date. i work in customer service myself, so i know stuff like this happens, but all in all it felt very unprofessional. the location itself and the neighbourhood around it is nice, very accessible from the centre of the city, and the atmosphere of the place was also quite nice. <3

Safe space for female travellers. Would recommend to anyone en route. It could be cleaner but in my short stay I saw cleaners almost daily - it was completely full!

This was my first time staying at a hostel, and as a 45-year old I thought I might feel a bit out of place. Not at all! I stayed for 3 nights and chatted with all ages of other women during my stay. I was in the 4-bed Queens room and really appreciated that the bunks had privacy curtains. I slept like a log each night as my fellow roommates were very conscientious when they were coming and going. The facilities were great, the showers were similar to those you might get at a gym and I appreciated having the hairdryers in the shower block. There's a Lidl nearby so you can buy food and cook it in the shared kitchen, and there are social activities organised as well. These were really nice touches. It was a great base for travelling into the centre and then back in the evening - leaving all the hustle and bustle behind. I downloaded the GVB app and paid for a 72-hour pass, which cost €21.50 and meant I could get the 54 metro in and out, as well as any trams in the centre. I'd definitely stay here again the next time I'm in Amsterdam - it was a fab experience.

Yelp
What a dump! It was one of the worse experiences I have had with a hostel. I booked it thinking that being an all women everyone would be nice!.. big mistake from the receptionist and the assistant manager everyone was horrible. Unable to provide directions, place is in a shopping center, scary place full of street people asking you for money, area is not well lit and the only light is right in front of the room I was assigned to so all night that light lites up the room. The bar right next to it keeps you awake with drunk people discussions and conversation. I had booked for 2 night but was out of there after the first night, the assistant manager got nasty very argumentative about the things got handle with my reservation. Not worth it. A&O Hostel is only a few minutes away, clean, modern, more perks, toiletries and towel included, nice staff and so much more worth it!!!

Yelp
I traveled to Amsterdam and wanted an inexpensive option to stay while I was there - I definitely found it here! I stayed within my budget and the hostel was clearly well kept. As a female only hostel, I felt comfortable and in my element sharing my space with other women. The only reason I can't rate it 5 stars is simply due to the location. It's tricky to find at first because it's tucked away in a rather large plaza, but it's relatively close to a train stop, which is awesome. The problem was that there were several people hanging out in the plaza - hanging out, not shopping - so I got a super sketchy vibe. I didn't feel exactly safe walking back and having to pass large, older men, even though there were a few kids playing, it seemed like a low income area, there was trash and graffiti and people under a bridge just behind the plaza. Again, this is the surrounding area so the hostel itself is awesome, but the location not so much.

Yelp
I booked a room with Hostelle and tested positive for COVID the day before my stay. I didn't request a refund, only a voucher to return another time and they denied my request. I was staying in a 10 person dorm room and if I went, I could infect the entire room (I have a fever of 102'). Their lack of concern for their residents' safety is appalling. I hope this review discourages your booking with them.

Yelp
Lovely accommodations, easy to book, eclectic rooms, clean and exactly what I needed! Also perfectly situated near the train station and shops. I wanted to check off "stay at a hostel" from my bucket list and I'm so happy I found Hostelle. They had the best reviews on Travel Advisor and easy reservations through Booking.com. The kitchen was the bomb for a vegan home chef like me, the rooms were lovely, artwork was delightful and the accommodations were really clean. They have bikes for rent and a private outdoor area when you need to get outside and feel some grass under your feet. Couldn't ask for anything more! I'll definitely be returning.

Yelp
I found this hostel using another website (sorry Yelp, I was cheating on you). I appreciated that this was an all-female hostel. Now, come on, yes, I love boys, but the honest truth is, they are dirty. And if it isn't a boy I like or love, I am not sure I want to deal with their funkiness just for a few nights when passing through a city. This hostel is clean and very cute. Very girly, lots of pink all around. There is a cool lounge area where you can read, use your comp, lounge and meet other interesting travelers. The girl at the front desk was super nice even though it was crazy busy. She was trying to check a bunch of people in and answer the phone also. I booked for a 4-bed room, but apparently, they overbooked and she only had an 8-bed room for me. I said ok, wasn't a big deal. She also discounted my stay and gave me free breakfast in the morning (normally it is 5 euros). They have a kitchen, so you can store your food and cook. Also, a nice library full of interesting books. Bathrooms are clean and there are many, so no waiting in the morning. I really liked this hostel and when I come thru Amsterdam again, I would consider staying here. But the only problem is it is a bit out of Central Amsterdam. It is easily accessible by train, but still a bit of a pain to get to when it is late at night, so that's why the 4 stars.

Yelp
Booked two beds in this hostel only a couple of days before we arrived, as we were interrailing, and almost anything else we found was either ridiculously expensive, or waaaay outside of the city. We decided to give this place a shot, as it wasn't too expensive and we could take the metro. While they said check in time is after 2pm, we did not get access to our room until 4pm, as it wasn't ready, which was a bit of a bummer, as we'd just planned to take a shower, and then explore the city. However, the other parts of this hotel weighed up for that minor inconvenience. The staff is very friendly, the hostel is mostly clean (girls are bad at cleaning up after themselves in the morning), and it looks very fresh and fancy. It's located in a smalltown-centre where there are lots of cafes, stores and a Lidl. It's a short way to the metro station Bjilmer Arena (the webpage where we booked said Bullewjik, which is further away). The distance from the city centre isn't a problem for late night partying either, as one can take the nightbus (757 towards Bjilmermeer), which leaves every 30 minutes, and takes about 30minutes to reach Bjilmer Arena. We had a great experience here, and would definietly come back!
