We were invited by a befriended couple by way of celebrating their recent wedding. We didn 't have to pay for anything.
On arrival, the Hostellerie looks a little wheather beaten and sad, but that has a certain charm to it.
Inside, the public spaces are "de l'époque" and look a little out-dated.
However, once you get into your room, you are immersed in luxury and modern comfort. A big super-comfortable bed and a state of the art bath room with a rain shower and whirlpool bath. On a personal note, I was a little confused bye the cube-like tabs in the shower and the closing system in the sink. But I got to manage. At night the room is super quiet and very dark. A delight if one is comming from the city!
We were equally invited for souper in the Hostellerie's restaurant. As we didn 't have to pay for it, I am not going to express a judgement about the food. Our hosts choose for the adapted wine with the different dishes, and those were exquisit!
As far as hospitality goes, there is nothing but good to say. The servability and friendlyness of the staff are beyond compare. We were 2 to overstrech the bar's closing time until 2 o'clock in the morning (bar closes at 11pm if I remeber correctly). All that time, one of the waiters stayed with us. To help us (and to keep and eye on us?).
Breakfast is correct. Who doesn't like champagne and smoked salmon in the morning? Again, there we outstreched the closing time (10h00) until 10h30...
As far as the surroundings and the region go, it is hard for me to be objective: I just love it!
In conclusion there is just one thing to say: reserve a room at the Hostellerie and enjoy your stay!
PS for Belgian customers: you can use your ECO-cheques to pay for your stay.
Please permit some remarks (details)
There was a Nesprsso machine in the room but no Nespresso caps
Nothing in the mini bar. Might have expected some water in there
We were told that it seems to be hard to get personnel in the vincinity of the hotel. One of the waiters was quite young and not very experienced yet. I had to pour in my bottled beer myself.
Same thing happened with a waiter that seemed to be a little more experienced. I guess it has become a new habit.
Keep up the good work and thank you for your hospitality.
