Stirling Youth Hostel is wonderful. We stayed 4 nights in a private double room, it was very big and the bathroom was good. The staff was very friendly and helpful and it is highly recommended! The location is great, you can not only explore Stirling and the castle, but it is only a short walk to the train station and very easy to travel to Glasgow or Edinburgh. Edinburgh was extremely busy due to the festival and lots of tourist - so coming back in the evening to our friendly youth hostel was bliss!

It's a beautiful Hostel, beautiful building. The staff is very friendly, welcoming and helpful. I broke my phone couple days ago and they helped me with some calls. Kitchen facilities are well-stocked. The I will come back for sure ! I really liked my stay in Stirling Youth Hostel. I found everything that I needed. Unfortunately I only could stay for 1 night in stirling (needed to take my flight the next day). But definitely will come back. Thank you so much for your welcome. I'm a seasonal worker in the tourist reception sector, so maybye one day I'll come and do a summer season in scotland ! Looking forward to seeing you !

Great place! The best staff I’ve encountered at a hostel so far. They let us store our bags under the main stairway even after we checked out. Very clean rooms and bathrooms, along with a well stocked kitchen. The only two dislikes are the laundry being quite expensive, and there isn’t a way to dry your hands after the sink in our room. The location is great, just a few minutes walk from Stirling Castle.

Well I found myself stranded in Amazingly scenic Stirling through work. Had to get through the night for my job to finish. I needed one night stay, get my head down, rest my weary soul. Long day with 10 hours travelling. Did a quick search the usual lodges hotels. Had to think out the box either Glasgow or Stirling ideally. After a good digging finally landed on a deal top good to be true. A Hostel, I tepidly took the plunge. Upon arrival at trains station, I found a sleepy Stirling with an attractive endearing charm. Even though I was exhausted I somehow found the energy to explore the Castle and views surrounding this Hostel, bang in the middle. I was beyond caring, expecting a stable. Finding pleasant inviting warm staff. A roomy sit down area for a free cuppa self service. Various visitors all sharing facilities, getting on. Smiles, chatting, a joy to be in the middle of. So much better than a boring hotel. I gingerly went to my shared dormitory bunk bed room with 6 man space for settling in. Pleasantly surprised sharing room with one other who turned out to be a well travelled guy, we shared stories. It certainly did the job and more. My stop was a brief stay, could be fun for a longer visit if anyone finds them heading to this part of the world. Plenty to do around, I met many families stopping over. The Scottish residents are so friendly and very different to their southern cousins. Live, Enjoy, Share & be happy. I will consider hostels in future for such a pleasurable experience.

Visited this today for the first time. No plaque or information on this old graveyard or monument, which is very sad. I didn't stay in the hostel so I can't comment about it.

We very much enjoyed our stay at this hostel! We arrived in Stirling well before check-in, but were allowed to leave our bags until we checked-in. The desk staff were kind, helpful and friendly. We stayed in a double ensuite and found the room to be very clean. We did find the shower a bit intense - but the strong water pressure was nice after a long train ride and carrying a large backpack (mostly) uphill from the train station, though some water did splash onto the floor. The shared spaces were also clean and well organized. The hostel was very conveniently located and we were able to walk to Holyrood Abbey, Stirling Castle, Stirling Distillery and a Tesco Superstore. We would absolutely recommend this hostel to other travellers.

Wonderful hostel with amazing, helpful staff. There is a well stocked shared kitchen that even has some free food that others left (stuff like salt, pepper and other spices come in handy!), the surrounding area is absolutely beautiful. Amazing place to stay.

Very nice location if you love classic Scottisch architecture. I loved the view on the cemetery, very spooky. Double room was moderately clean...for example shower carpet had yellow stains. Bed sheets were already on, but we had to take own towels from downstairs. Bed was comfy and super view. There is also a small table with chairs in the room. The biggest no was the shower, the whole room was full of water after taking a shower and also the shower curtain...not very modern and not hygienic. The door to the toilet was also broken as if someone had kicked it in. Unfortunately we could not do the check in strictly before 16 although we arrived earlier and alhtough we had a private room. We did not have breakfast but I checked the common kitchen and rooms and looked fine very cosy. Personnel was also nice and friendly. Position of the hostel is great just below the castle and very close to the city center. All in all is was a nice hostel experience!!
