This hotel deserves to close. It’s a scam: they promise parking and breakfast service integrated into the hotel, but no, everything is outside and several kilometers away from the hotel. Additionally, the hotel’s front door is broken, the room doors as well, not to mention the dilapidated and dirty condition of the rooms. Furthermore, there is no soundproofing, expect to hear everything and not be able to rest. To top it off, there is no staff in the hotel, it’s more of a zoo than a hotel !!!!!!!!!!

Outstanding location, within walking distance of most of the popular attractions. Easy walk from main bus station. Room was spacious and clean. There is electronic access to main door and room, so if your not ofay with that, you will need to read your emailed instructions carefully. The bathroom smelled a little, they do try to mask it with a defuser, but I'm thinking it's the pipes, so possible not an easy fix.

Hosteria Sara by Gaiarooms looks great in the pictures but we have had a pretty poor experience. Our room smelled of sewage which the staff obvious knew about because of the tiny wall air-freshener and the plugs over some of the offensive holes in the bathroom. It didn't work and we resorted to buying our own candles and air-freshener. ||Additionally, the "easy, contactless" check-in process was not very easy and indeed not contactless. We had to make multiple phone calls and walk over to their office a few blocks away to get the front door code and pick up the key to our room. It's fine to have a number you call but we were under the impression that there would be a front desk on site. As international travellers, we don't have cell phone plans in Spain so just checking-in cost me over $60 CAD in call and data roaming fees. ||Lastly, we had requested 2 single beds which we were told would be done. Instead there was one king-sized bed which we were told by the staff when we enquired would be separated the next day. It wasn't. I have been so repulsed and exasperated by this place. They definitely don't deserve their rating on booking.com. ||Salamanca is a gorgeous place that you should definitely visit but don't stay here and I will personally be avoiding facilities by gaiarooms going forward.

Stayed for 3 nights in October.||||The hotel is situated close to the main square about 15 mins walk from the bus station.||The host is friendly, helpfull and made you feel like one of her family. Truly a great experience. Communication in English was so natural.||The rooms are large , well furnished with plenty of natural light. The bathroom was spotlessly clean with a tub and standard amenities (shampoo etc).||There is aircon but no cable TV. The hotel has an elevator to all floors.||There is no breakfast option but many cafes and restaurants in the same street.||||The hotel is very secure with security access after hours.||||I would have to give this hotel 10 out of 10 just on the hospitality shown to travellers. Top recommendation.

I stayed here for five nights while attending a conference. Sandra, who communicated about my reservation and checked me in, was amazing! I had to go see a doctor while there, and they went out of there way to help. They also gave good recommendations for shopping and eating. The room was comfortable and quiet with a nice balcony view on to the pedestrian street below. Easy walking access to all of the historical center and just a stone’s throw from the Plaza Mayor.

I really dislike it when there is no one to check you in. Too impersonal for me. I needed help with securing parking and had to rely on Google maps. The digital check in didn't work for us so we had to phone which would have been a problem if I hadn't got a sim card.

A small budget family owned hotel, very convenient to the Plaza Mayor and the Basilica. Not fancy, just the basic room. A small private parking garage nearby for 10euro. We came during Semana Santa , so it was perfect for watching all the processions only steps away.

Indeed, I agree with the last two reviews. When we first booked this hostel the reviews said it was “family own”. When we arrived the door was locked and not a soul in site. I went next door to a restaurant to inquired and they replied the hotel had changed hands the previous month. We saw a posted notice with a phone number to call. Since we had secured our reservation with a credit card we were given access. I was wondering if we use the elevator and malfunctions. Also, water was escaping from the toilet and who to inform. I also agree the place was clean and centrally located. The following day we saw other guests holding their phones, not very pleased waiting to gain access to their rooms via iPad. I miss saying “ good morning” to the person in the reception.
