Hot Dishes Restaurant (Old Mutual Building)

Such a delicious local food, I had Beans Coconut Rice and it was so far one of the best traditional African dishes. They have also sweet version, mine was salty.

Locals favourite Samosa Lamb chops Ugali with spinach! Coconut fish sizzler!

I had an incredible dining experience at Hot Dishes Nairobi! I ordered the lamb chops, greens, and ugali, and every bite was packed with flavor. The food had that wonderful homemade quality, which made it all the more enjoyable. I always prefer eating where the locals eat when traveling, and Hot Dishes did not disappoint. The casual vibe made it a perfect spot to relax and enjoy a meal. The staff were incredibly nice and added to the pleasant atmosphere. It was so good that I took a plate to go with the ugali and the take out was well packaged. Located in a great spot not far from shopping areas. If you're in Nairobi and looking for a place with delicious, authentic food, that is not a tourist hotspot, I highly recommend Hot Dishes!

A lovely place to have a meal in town. It can be get noisy with people chatting especially during peak hours (6pm to 9pm). If you want a quite place where you don't need to talk over the guys next table, then don't go here during these times. I love their porridge, and I always come here for it if am in town in the AM. You should try it out!
