Seriously, top 3 pizza places I've ever been to in my life! I am seriously so incredibly fulfilled stopping through this little town that is INCREDIBLE!!!!! Had slice of Pep/Italian Sausage/Black olive & 1 cheese with extra chz & a massive drizzle of their garlic oil. Topped it off with a 🍑 Lager: Reckless. Every taste here blew my mind. They also have awesome old skool stamp cards for a free alive program. 😍Vintage still. Price=unmatched. Forever. HEAVEN! check out my Insta- {{@e.m.brooks}}.I had to finally document one of the 80 places I've been too exactly like this across the country in the last 3 years.... Literally.Just solo travel. Try it! - BTW, the art scene here in Fruita is incredible with a few studios as well & so many incredible sculptures to see. Comfy, beautiful downtown. & Of course very friendly, country folk. **Bonus** $5 pint glass sealed the deal in my heart!

Gluten-free pizza crust is soo good here. Very crispy edges and comes in 14 inches instead of a small pizza as many places are. We ordered the Little Italy and it was delicious. The sausage is definitely spicy but if you like red peppers on your pizza, then it’s perfect. With the additional ricotta cheese, it was a bit too much cheese (which i never say) so we removed a lot of the ricotta to enjoy it more. We ordered a big salad and it was almost too much for two of us to eat. Lots of delicious, fresh veggies in the salad. This is a counter service place and self-cleaning of your own dishes so can’t say much about service if I’m serving myself. They have indoor table and bar seating plus a pretty big outdoor patio.

Google
Amazing pizza. The crust had perfect chew, the sauce was perfectly spiced and the topping choices were great. The negroni was spot on also. Best pizza I've had outside of Italy. It was worth the 1½ hour drive and we'll be back.

Google
Wow, what amazing pizza. We haven't had pizza this good since Napoli. The crust is perfect and the toppings are perfectly chosen, seasoned, and portioned. The granny and the Italian were phenomenal. We'll be making trips here weekly. Best pizza around. All the staff were great and the atmosphere is cozy.

Google
The Meaty Pizza was one of the better pizzas I've had in a long while! Thin crust, ample meat toppings. I wish I'd ordered extra cheese as I'm a huge lover of all things cheese. Other family members ordered Calzones and were not disappointed in flavor or size. I'd recommend this place as a go-to for pizza if in the area. I'll be back next trip to the Western Slope - can't wait!

Raeann S.

Google
The pizza is great! The atmosphere is a little too hipster for me, but that's also because it's right in the middle of downtown Fruita. The service could be a little better. I feel like it's youngsters who don't really care about other people mainly. They put on a smile, but they've accidentally closed the window right in front of an oncoming customer instead of addressing her first and the wait it a few minutes after time expected most of the time, but I love the pizza!

Google
One of, if not the most iconic pizza spot in Colorado. This spot is not only a delectable place to eat but it is also a staple of the local outdoorsy community. It is a must stop after a day of adventuring in the Colorado national monument. I tried the peach pizza for the first time and I was not disappointed! It was fantastic. This is the type of place that you dream about until the next time you can go back.

Bil D.

Google
Popular pizza stop with a neat feel, a little rough around the edges. Pesto based pizza was very good, but disappointed with the peach pizza... Needs work and, well, more peaches. Given the location, that's a crime! Definitely worth a stop though.

Yelp
$36 for 3 single slices of pizza, Stromboli, cheesy breadsticks, 3 drinks and 1 giant cookie! What a great deal! Very happy and friendly environment, great service, and even when training or team meetings are occurring you will still be attended to just as the same. When my family and I went dining for the first time we notice a team meeting they had in the kitchen (as it is a open area) and I just want to also add that the manager was top tier! You don't see managers training like that anymore!!! He really seemed to care for his team and the community!!!! kudos to you!!! Great pizza! Great service! Short wait on food (5mins tops)! Great environment! Great community! Absolutely love!

Yelp
Funky decor with friendly service. Can be extremely busy on weekends with long wait. The pizza is pretty good but not great. It getting too expensive to be enjoyable.
google avatar

Elisa S.

Yelp
This place is a busy spot during lunch hour! They serve by the slice and whole pizzas. Lots of drinks options and daily specials for slices. We were passing through from Utah to Oklahoma and stopped in. They give you a huge thing of ranch so that was cool.
google avatar

Caroline M.

Yelp
We ordered the peach pizza and Little Italy pizza without the sausage because I don't eat hot spices. We did take out. The hostess offered us cold water while we waited. The serving staff were very friendly. Pizza was very good. I liked the combo of sweet with salt on the peach pizza. Crust was thin and crispy. It was mentioned that the place is small but there is seating. I guess when it's busy. We were there on a Wednesday afternoon.

Yelp
We needed a break from camping food and stopped here for lunch. Order at the counter and your food is brought to you. We must have had that deer in the headlights look because the guy behind the counter was very friendly and helpful (sorry didn't get his name). We were able to order one of their signature pizzas (The Noni) with two substitutes- one for my half and one for hubby's half). Lots of seating options - inside, patio, and covered patio. Pizza came out fairly quickly and was delicious. Thin crust the way we like it. Extra points for having a shaker with oregano in it alongside the parm cheese and hot peppers. Also extra points for having foil available for leftovers. Our bellies full and satisfied and we were on our way!

Yelp
Randomly found this place while driving from Denver to Phoenix. It is located in the Grand Junction Metroplex (?) in a town called Fruita. It was a wonderful surprise to stop in for dinner. You go through a line, order your food, then grab a seat - table or barstool. The menu has plenty of options for pizza. We opted for a garden salad and the Stinky Deluxe. Salad was a salad, but it good. Fresh with a good amount of toppings. The pizza was quite tasty - crispy crust, nice tomato sauce, and great toppings. Also, the toppings did not overwhelm the pie. The service is very good. The ambiance is good as well - indoor and patio seating. Was fairly lively. The bar was full up when we arrived with a good selection beers from which to pick. N*joy!

Yelp
I'll be honest--I was a little hesitant coming here because I figured, how good can their pizza really be? And I was also worried they wouldn't have gluten-free options... but they totally came through! We stopped by after hiking Rattlesnake Arches (starving, of course) and were so happy to find outdoor seating. I ordered their gluten-free pizza (a bit pricey, yes, but worth it!) and it was delish. The crust was legit and the toppings were loaded with flavor. Also--highly recommend the pineapple cider. It was insanely good. Loved the whole vibe here. Chill, tasty, and surprisingly GF-friendly. Definitely coming back!

Yelp
This place has an absolutely chokehold on Fruita and I can understand why. It's been around forever and the pizzas are great. There is always go to be a line and a wait so my recommendation is ordering ahead and eating your pizza outside in the nice area with tables outside the restaurant. Really enjoyed all the vegetarian options they had for speciality pizzas. Everything was fresh and hot.

Yelp
Driving to Ouray CO from Park City we searched the web and found this pizzeria in the town of Fruita CO. They have a great reputation and rave reviews. We went early (11:30) and we were glad we did. By noon, the line was out the door. Ambiance, is funky and bicycle themed, reflecting the focus of the town. Service is pretty basic, you pay as you order, the pizza shows up at your table and you eat. The food is good. We ordered slices as it was lunch and we did not want to transport leftover pizza. I got my basic pepperoni and the wife went with Granny's Pesto which is made with a base of basil pesto, then topped with mozzarella, garlic, feta cheese and tomatoes. The dough had great flavor, the sauces were excellent and the ratio of pepperoni to pie slice was good. Why four stars and not five? Alas, maybe because we got slices, the dough was quite soggy. It was just on the edge of needing (oh the horror!) a fork to eat. Enjoyed it, will eat there again when driving through and maybe will try a made to order whole pizza to really experience their crust in its native form.

Yelp
Downtown row restaurant - chic and hip like Fruita. Had the seasonal peach pizza and it was wonderful! We did pick-up and it was nice and easy too.
google avatar

Yelp
As good as it gets. Incredible New York style pizza. Cute little spot. It is quite tight inside for how packed it always is, but if you're looking for the best pizza in the GJ area, this is the spot.
google avatar

Perla R.

Yelp
Such good pizza. And the sugar cane soda. Yum. My 2 year old son is picky about his pizza. Hoy tomato was a win in his book.

Yelp
Mountain biking in the area. Ordered on the phone at 4:30 pm on a Friday, in May. Pepperoni and mushroom pizza and the cheese stick with pesto $38.00. The crust is thin, chewy, crunchy in the right areas - overall delicious. Sauce is mild. Their Sicilian spicy sauce was not in stock the nice teenager on the phone reported. It is very LOUD in the background - make sure the phone person repeats back to you the order- it took 4 tries before it was correct. Parking is difficult if you are pulling a camper- so drive by slowly and have your plus one jump out and pick up the pizzas and cheese breads. The pizza even tasted good the next day too! Highly recommend the pesto cheese bread and any pepperoni pizza- my other crew also phoned in and ordered a veggie mix with pepperoni! Also awesome- I don't like onions on my pizza too pungent so I ordered my own and the crew dug into my "mild" pie- everyone loved loved it. Ambience- bike friendly- there is bicycle paraphenelia hanging around the shop. Even the box has a tomato riding a bike! That's why you should eat here- they love their two wheel friends!!! No photos since it would look just like all the other photos of pizza and its hard to take a photo of how many O faces there were when you're in your own state of euphoria. Go here Hungry!

Yelp
Cute, local spot for pizza. Located in a very walkable area of Fruita with extra general seating outside in addition to seating on their patio and inside. The pizza slices we had were a classic new york style and the salad was great as well. Overall, a nice quick spot for us to stop in to grab a bite.

Sara N.

Yelp
The Sedona salad and peach pizza were incredible. I'll be thinking about those for a long time. So sorry that I live so far away and won't be able to enjoy this frequently

Nikki P.

Yelp
Yummy!! Amazing salad and delicious pizza. Don't walk, run to Hot Tomato. This has been on my list to try, so glad I did.
google avatar

Sandy W.

Yelp
The salad is great here. The pizza is delicious. I love the vibe and my only issue is the service is a little spotty. It's a mix of self-serve/waiters. Could be a little smoother. Otherwise, everything is great! Will be back.
google avatar

Adam J.

Yelp
Order ahead it's no secret it's that good. Hands down best pizza on the west slope in the grand valley. I ordered the meat pie, sausage, pepperoni, ham and been craving it since. Staff was friendly and is located in Fruita just west of gj, 10 min drive. Thank you!!

Heather S.

Yelp
Oh, so good pizza is available in Colorado. Just in the western half of the state. Ordered a 14" Bob Steve to share, and it was perfect. Great ingredients, perfect crust. Great atmosphere. Helpful service. And the option to scan the QR code and order at the table is brilliant. No notes.
google avatar

Kathryn V.

Yelp
Food is pretty good, service is akin to fast food, crowded is not always a sign of quality!
google avatar

Emma L.

Yelp
Every time I come to Fruita I make sure to go to the Hot Tomato. I love all the pizza options and the atmosphere. From the pesto, to the meat options, to the salads and even the drinks they really have it all. Which is likely why there is always a wait and the seating is packed. Do not be worried about the wait- I will tell you that it is absolutely worth it. My favorite pizza is for sure the granny pesto and the palisade peach when in season!
google avatar

Richard S.

Yelp
Love this place. Fantastic pizza and beer selection. They make peach pizza seasonally that you have to try at least once. The staff are all very friendly and courteous. Definitely get a great vibe here. Very busy at times but the experience is always worth the wait. New outside seating is a wonderful added bonus for those evenings you prefer to sit outside and chill. Definitely recommend.
google avatar

Yelp
I'm a big fan of Hot Tomato Pizza. This is a busy place so be prepared to wait a few minutes in line. You place your order up front get a number then find your table. The staff will bring your food and drink to you. The staff was kind and answered all our questions. Service was fast especially considering how busy it was The food was great. My favorite was the Icarus pizza. A pretty traditional combo. I LOVE the sauce on their pizza really bright tomato-y sauce that is addicting! You can sit indoor or outdoor. We chose to sit outside and it was really nice. Will be back next time we are in Fruita.

Yelp
I wish I had got more.... This small Pizza shop in the downtown area of Grand Junction really hit the spot. We came in totally unprepared to order at the counter and the young lady was so cool and un-annoyed by us. We went with slices of cheese, pepperoni, and the special of the day. I had the special. It was a white sauce pizza with spinach, tomato, bacon, feta cheese and onion. It was a great combo. Only negative is because it was a deeper dish style I feel more sauce was needed. Cheese and pepperoni slices were good. They were more of a NY style. They were big and greasy as pizza should be. I had a delicious cider here too. It was grapefruit and something else. Best cider Ive had in a while. There were a few flies around the table area but not enough to prevent us from eating all our food.

Yelp
Who knew I would fall in love with Fruita and all it has to offer?? I ordered from Hot Tomato on a recommendation from a family member and it was just what I needed after a day of driving and hiking. I ordered while leaving the Colorado National Monument then slowly made my way over to pick up. Good thing I did because there was a line out the door around 6pm on a Wednesday night, hooray for good choices! Thankfully they have a pickup window so I didn't have to push through the crowd. The food was soon ready and I devoured it in my hotel room. I got the power salad and The Noni and both were perfection. I even had a few slices left over which I had a couple days later reheated in the oven and it was even better than fresh. I will be stopping here again should I ever find myself in Fruita!
google avatar

Alexandria R.

Yelp
Talk about a slice of heaven! Everything is worth your money and it's prices are VERY reasonable. The food was so flavorful and the general vibe of the place was relaxed and friendly. Im so happy we were staying out here and not in grand junction because we got to experience this gem! The 14" Dill-icous was amazing! I think the crust was perfect, it is a thin crust but it's not cardboard and isn't too dry. The toppings were very well distributed and the spicy was just right. This pizza is going to be a craving of mine and I won't ever be able to meet the taste. Cheesy bread was on the same crust and the marinara sauce... I could use a supply readily available in my fridge. So flavorful not your typical canned tasting sauce. The beet street salad with balsamic man I could eat that everyday. Honestly I just keep saying how delicious each thing was but it's just the truth. Also they had three dollar beer on tap special.
google avatar

Jill H.

Yelp
Love, love, love their pizza. We had the deluxe cheese sticks Granny's pesto, the Meaty boy, and the Brussel Crow salad. Everything was excellent and what a wonderful selection of local beer.
google avatar

Tammy S.

Yelp
My husband heard about this place a while ago and we've been wanting to try it but we usually have such a packed agenda while visiting in Grand Junction that we haven't had a chance . . . until this weekend. We ordered for takeout but next time would love to eat it hot and fresh outdoors on their back patio. We wanted the Sicilian but they were out so we got regular crust pepperoni, sausage, mushroom, and it was super hot and delicious (we ate one piece on the way back to Grand Junction). The crust is perfectly cooked with just a slight sweetness which is a great balance to the savory items we put on top. When I get a chance to be here in the summer, I will definitely try the peach pizza. There is plenty of parking, and the place is cute.

Kevin L.

Yelp
Great tasting pizzas and ambiance. Our order went in and w/in 20 minutes we had our Meaty Boy pie ( a meat heavy pizza). It was stupendous! We hope to return when we are back in Fruita next spring when we can try a different one; like the Little Italy.
google avatar

Casey D.

Yelp
We always look forward to getting back to Fruita, so we can have pizza. We don't eat it anywhere else! We usually order the Little Italy with olive oil base and olives. Perfect every time.

Mike L.

Yelp
Really great food funky place with great beer and great service. Would recommend 100%. I'm from Mississippi and was visiting family in Grand Junction. Hope to get back soon. Put a sticker on my farm door in Money MS.
google avatar

Ann F.

Yelp
Great pizza and beer. Gluten free pizza was very good also. The beer selection was good also.
google avatar

Elizabeth N.

Yelp
The best pizza on the western slope! Any time I am craving pizza I will stop here! Fresh ingredients and very flavorful. Their regular pizza crust is not too thick which I love! They do have happy hour from 3-5 and can get 2.00 of certain beers and wines. They have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating!
google avatar

Tom K.

Yelp
Places like Hot Tomato are what make Fruita awesome. I love it here. The food, drinks, and vibe is so fun and chill.

Mike S.

Yelp
Great pizza, like east coast great dough and sauce. Good prices, tons of people there, I'd go back.

Chris O.

Yelp
Great pizza and food! Crowded but fun! Decent prices and nice staff. We had two regular pizzas and had enough to take home for another meal.
google avatar

Eileen K.

Yelp
So fresh & so good. The gluten free crust is so yum. The people that work there are very nice & the place has a good vibe! My favorite pizza place on the Western slope.
google avatar

Elise C.

Yelp
It's so exciting to be back in a physical, lovely restaurant. Hot Tomato provides the flavors and the ambience. My current favorite is the Badabing, especially once I drizzle a little of Hot Tomato's Italian dressing on top. Yum!
google avatar

Claire L.

Yelp
We ordered pizza by the slice here after doing some mountain biking. It was alright (pesto and pepperoni were tried). We also each got a Stromboli -- those were amazing! 5/5 for flavor. And they were decent in size, too. The lady at the table next to us had a huge pizza with artichoke and feta that looked amazing and a lot more fresh than our pizza by the slice. To conclude, I would not recommend pizza by the slice, aside from the Stromboli (which is served similarly to the pizza by the slice). The other pizzas looked good though.
google avatar

Jenna J.

Yelp
Heard about this place for months and finally got around to trying it last week. Had the famous "peach" pizza...delicious! really liked the dough. Customer service was friendly too. Not 5 stars because a tad pricey and didn't like the ordering system...was told a certain time got to restaurant and waited another 20 mins...will definitely go back hoping the wait was a fluke.
google avatar

Shelley R.

Yelp
Absolute best pizza I've ever had! We tried the Peach pizza and the Dill pickle pizza and were blown away. Beautiful patio and such friendly servers! It was an awesome experience and we can't wait to go back. If they have the peach pizza while you visit (it's seasonal)-definitely give it a try!!!! It was amazing
google avatar

Klaudia L.

Yelp
We just moved to Fruita and we decided to get take out on our 1st night here. This place had good reviews so we gave it a try. The wait for our carry out order was 1.5 hours which blew my mind. I've never heard of such a long wait time for carry out and I was starving so I was not happy. However, it made me think the food must be good if the wait is so long and they did not disappoint at all. This pizza was probably the 2nd best pizza I've had outside of the pizza in Italy. I had the Noni pizza with the balsamic reduction (which was new to me on pizza) and it was devine! The marinara sauce was also delicious. It's a light sauce with great flavor and they don't use cheap pizza cheese. I was very impressed by the quality of the food here.
google avatar

Coe H.

Yelp
The BEST gluten free pizza!!! I hear the regular pizza is pretty amazing too. The salads are hearty and robust. The ranch dressing is that white liquid gold (made by the dressing gods) that you pour on everything. We always order extra ranch. They also have great beer and wine selections. We love the food, service, and mountain bike vibes. They are closed on Sundays and Mondays.
google avatar

Lauran W.

Yelp
Great pizzas, great beer. A must go to stop while in Fruita, CO. The atmosphere is fun is as well. Definitely fill up on a whole pizza, and always have leftovers for when around the campfire later in the night.

Krystal R.

Yelp
By far one of the best pizza places. Always be sure to check out the specialty pizzas. My daughter also has celiac and loves the gf pizza and they do their best at cross contamination. This place is a must try
google avatar

Dan H.

Yelp
In Fruita for the night and SO glad I had dinner here. Although their menu doens't scream vegan, they have several items marked veg and others that easily can be made vegan. I had the beet salad and a calzone. Both were delicious. The dough for the calzone is amazing. And the staff was perfect. True hospitality is still alive and well! I do ratings based on delish vegan food and awesome service, so a 5 star is what these folks deserve. I hope to be able to dine here again.
google avatar

Jeremy D.

Yelp
Great place! I had an Icarus (toss-up between that and the Stinky Pie) pizza and a red ale, and loved 'em. Great ambience, with really nice staff. One pesky aspect was flies buzzing around the tables outside, but a box for the pizza fixed that.
google avatar

Greg B.

Yelp
I was in town with some friends for.. you guessed it.. mountain biking!! Like others, I knew about this pizza place before I knew what trails I was coming to ride. I had heard from Coloradans and Utahns; "Oh you're you going to Fruita? You haaaave to get the pizza here." Indeed, one of our groups member's friends had asked to bring back a whole pizza all the way to Denver.. It's what you do here. If you need a bike shop, you go to Over-the-Edge. You like good pie, you visit Hot Tomato. I'll throw out a third here for the coffee shop in the old bank on the adjoining corners. Anyhoo, if you are in town, for biking or not, you owe it to yourself to come by for slice or a whole pie. It really is that good, a gem in this small town. And get one to go too, share it with a friend. It turns out there's a short film on YouTube that Patagonia sponsored called 'Life of Pie' that gives a much better background to this place and the people that built it than I can worthily do here.
google avatar

James M.

Yelp
This was a recommended place and we checked it out traveling through. Really hip and fun atmosphere. Laid back, but still, the staff gets the work done. The beet salad was phenomenal. I just didn't like it being served in a bowl with two forks...very tough to serve between us. There are so many wonderful little bits (beet squares, walnuts, dried cherries). Just hard to do. The garden salad, also really dynamic. Oh, and the small salads are STILL enough to share. A large spoon should be been included...I was too hungry to wait and try to get a server's attention! LOL We had three pizzas: Palisade Peach Pizza, Noni (ruined with the balsamic reduction drizzled everywhere - my opinion - have it held!), and Badabing! - which was by far the best. No matter, the dough makes the pizza and it was consistently delicious. Oh, and we tried a Stromboli to share. Really great. The marinara sauce is outstanding. Yes to checking it out!
