Just spent the last few days here and have to say this has easily become my favourite place to stay! Soak pool, fireplace going in the common area - great place to meet & mingle and hang out with Blue, the kingpin of HWB Top 10! Coffee shop in the morning and pizza and beer in the evening - so delicious and perfect when you just want to hang out at camp. I stayed in a powered site & my daughter & husband stayed in a deluxe cabin which they absolutely loved! Thank you to the team putting us close together even though the sites on that side were closed for the season. Site is well maintained and very clean. The team were really nice, friendly and very helpful. Highly recommend coming here to stay!

Awesome park don’t think twice just book it. We were in a motorhome so we phoned in booked in and what a gem, hot spa and a fireplace in the camp kitchen. We stayed in winter so the fireplace was a hit with the family as we cooked and ate in that area and watched the Rugby, very comfortable and very CLEAN a word we like clean. Amenities were the same CLEAN bathroom had free hot water just need to push the timer button on the door however it was free and high pressure so good after a cold day. Staff were awesome, Blue the camp cat lives on the camp kitchen and has pride of place during winter on the couch watching Rugby (everyone is welcome to join Blue)

This has got to be up there with one of the best holiday parks we have stayed/ very well organised clean and tidy! Affordable options for larger family’s - play ground was fantastic the whole place was incredible. Pizzas were yummy - coffee great fish and chips were good too! Loved the hot soak area and the plunge into the pool the kids didn’t mind the colder pool it was winter! We stayed in July and took full advantage of their deal and it was great we loved it. Will be back.

Friendly staff, nice pools and near the hotwater beach. Facilities are clean, except of the main room in the middle. The and other seats could need a cleaning, was sitting there to charge my Electronic things and it was a little bit unhygienic. WiFi is still realy bad, I've read other reviews that said that aswell and the answer was that they are working on it, but in September 25, it is still realy bad. You need to be in the main facility to use it at all. Glad that I didnt had to pay for it, lol. OneNZ Net is almost not available here too, but sometimes still better than the WiFi. Overall price is fair.

Stayed in a deluxe cabin. The pool/hot tub and bathroom facilities were great. The person who checked us in gave us lots of helpful information. Approximately 10 minute walk to Hot Water Beach which was a highlight of our roadtrip. Had a very enjoyable stay here.

What a great place to stay when visiting Hot water beach. The staff is friendly and always willing to help with any requests. Campgrounds and pool area are well kept. Playground for kids, café and restaurant on premises completes a well managed facility.

Yelp
I can't believe how fun it is to be campervan traveling in new Zealand, and top 10 holiday park campsites are great for first timer / beginner for campervan experience. This is my second time doing campervan traveling in new Zealand, but first time at the hot water beach top 10. Like all the other Top 10 Holiday park. They offered full kitchen, full hot showers, and also powered parking for campervan . If you are just driving a car and wanted to use their facilities, they also have cabins for rental. They all look pretty cute from outside. I've always told my friends, I am really doing "glamping" than camping. We never have through it out in the wild , but fully equipped kitchen and bathrooms with good hot water pressured shower. The staffs are also very friendly in terms of helping you to book activities around and for recommendations. The unique name of hot water beach comes from the beach has lava rocks underneath that heat up the sand . At low tides, you can dig your own spa spots to lay around for hot water sipping through the hot sand by the beach. Ita quite an interesting experience. It is about 10 to 15 minutes walk from this camp ground and the holiday park do provide shovel for rental. It did took us about 30 to 45 min to finally got a spot that gives really good very warm water , so you definetly want the shovel. This park is also very close to the Hahei and catherdral cove and other small towns with lots of good restaurants, gardens and wineries. We can easily find things to do around regardless of the weather. Since we arrived with a rainy day, we end up walking around the nearby town and spent the next day by the beach. Another great thing at the top 10 park is that, they have a fun jumping pillows that we have not seen in the states. Not only.kids enjoys bouncing around, so do all the adults. It was such a fun easy, non attraction activities. Great for all ages. We even star.gazed at night in the magical new Zealand campgrounds. I am already missing the great time in new Zealand. Tips: reception closed at 8. So make sure to arrived before then, or you might not find your parking spot at the campground and your complimentary limited WiFi. We got 2- 250MB WiFi for free for 2 night stays. And check out time is at 10 am.

Yelp
OK OK OK you have to do this!!! Think about it, where else can you make a hot spring sand tub on the beach, watch a beautiful sunrise, and be surrounded by some of the most breath taking scenery... Nowhere! (if there is another place like this don't ruin it for me, I like to think it's one of a kind). I traveled all around New Zealand and did a lot of fun things, but this was and experience that I'll never forget. Of all the things we did in the North and South island this was my favorite. You need to time your visit with the low tide, I would suggest the morning time (check with the Holiday Park staff, they will let you know when the low tide is). Also, you can pay them $5 to rent a shovel if you don't have one. I'm sure the afternoon is fun as well, but I heard there are just more people and it gets crowded fast. Morning time you get your sunrise, and it's just an amazing way to start your day. This is a must, but I'd say it's only for the adventurer type.

Yelp
Two hours on either side of low tide is when you want to be here. We had a tight schedule, so of course we came when there were like a gazillion people here. Didn't matter because we had already hit up Cathedral Cove in the morning and were just here for the novelty of it all. We parked in the first lot along the road, which I guess is the free lot. There is stand there for surf lessons and equipment, including spades for rental. $5 seems to be the going rate for spade rental. We passed sans spade. An 8-minute walk up the beach brought us to a crowd of digging people at the hot water part of the beach. A sign sits in the middle of it all warning people of the incredibly hot water. People dug holes around various parts surrounding the hottest patches. (Another tourist guy and I kept daring each other to stick our toes in this one little channel close to where the waves splashed, cooling the freakishly hot water) A couple who was there before us gifted us with their hole, which saved us having to dig. Our little dude preferred a hole a tad further away, as its water was a more comfortable temp for him. He said our water was "too hot" for him. Amateur. Not gonna lie, I sorta wish we'd rented a spade. Though, it was still very fun and nice without. If you're in the area, figure out when low tide is and get here.

Yelp
A must do! We did this a night, lots of people but don't let that discourage you. There are only certain spots on the beach that this can be don't not all the spots have hot water under the sand which is good because the water can be scorching in areas. Find a cool spot to dig in that is right next to the hot spot. Dig a hole in the cold spot with a channel connected to the hot spot that pours into the colder water. That way the temperature will be just right.

Yelp
We read on reviews to come early because it would be really packed later in the day. We arrived there around 10am and started digging out pit. It was a fun experience. We ended up giving up on our pit because the ocean kept washing it away and taking other pits that were made by others. You can see steam and hot water boiling at certain parts. As long as you get close to that part, your pit will be warm. The beach itself was very pretty. There is a cafe nearby you can buy some snacks and drinks. It would be nice to set up a picnic here and admire the view.

Yelp
You are at the merci of the tide when planning your adventure out here. You can go either in the morning or at night. Bring a flashlight and a shovel. Parking is kind of strange, there are 2 lots for paid parking, or you can try and find parking on the street? We did the morning low tide, and it was so beautiful watching the sunrise. Here are some tips for a better experience. We failed our first day out there, and nobody tried to help us. Instead they just watched us try to stick our feet into this ungodly hot water. So here is what you do, you walk towards the rocks until you start to feel heat beneath your feet, place your towels and other belongings on the rocks, watch out for crabs, you don't want to alarm them. Now back to the warm sand, try to dig about 5 feet away from the hottest area. Water will start to fill your hole. If it's too hot, start again a little further away. Oh and try to dig away from the ocean, then you can enjoy your pool a little longer before the tide comes in. We had to work with other people around us and combine our temperatures by creating channels. Make sure you ask if they are okay with that first before you do so. This was for sure a group bonding experience and a ton of fun.
